I never saw anyone claim that the FB kids should not be allowed on the team. I believe they are desperately needed in order for us to make another deep playoff run. Regardless of what skill set 5on5 believes they have or Big Show or Brubaker or myself believes. What matters is what the coaches think. Last year, these guys played a big role in our success. If we play a BIG team, then Washington and Couron will be utilized more so than when we play a team like Silsbee. Kimler is more diverse, bc he's fast AND he plays physical (which we desperately need)! Kimler was a defensive specialist for most of last year, and he played limited minutes. When he asked Coach E. to move down to JV for 2nd half of district, he was able to work on his offensive and skill sets. He returned to Varsity for playoffs. If he has developed an outside shot since last season, he could be deadly.  Did these players improved their basketball skills since last year, IMO yes, just not as much as the non-FB kids. Brubaker mentioned English's brother being good at both sports, but that was over 20 years ago when kids didn't play year round. Plus, he was more of an exception rather than the norm. In addition, since our FB team made a deep run this year, so those kids will have to put in extra time if they want to make a serious impact for the team. It can happen though: Just 2 years ago, D. Forney was our QB then starred on the BBall team. It took him about a month to get to where he was from previous year as it will take a while for these kids too. Hopefully they will work hard over the Christmas Break so they can be 'ready'. Bottom line: We need them in order to make another deep run!
Yes, bring the big guns in.  Nothing wrong with that.  They will be utilized.
Oh I gotcha Souljah, in other words Central got this over Nederland no matter who they bring to the gym that night ;)  ;D
I didn't say that, but...  ;D
Yep. Eagles just gotta continue to play lights out. And I think they will, but I've already kinda got a bit of a knot in my stomach. Newton and Cameron have had some unbelievable games in the playoffs through the years. Go Eagles!
Now, go and blow all those fools out of the water!  I told a couple  of my football buddies that Newton was a runaway train to the state title.
 6. My immediate expectations for Central is to getting back to what we do best... Running the ball downhill and hard hitting defense.  That's not asking much.  The rest will fall in place.  our running game have been nonexistent now for going on 3 years and on defense, teams used to gear the defense.  Now, we've became a joke of a defense.  Get back to our identity, by ANY means necessary.  It's sad that there's people that's been on our staff for 25 years and counting but somehow paid NO attention to the greats of past.

Wait till district. You will be answering to the pressure.
If you say so.  Let me get this right.  We'll loose twice to Nederland (whom we've beaten, BTW), Ozen will have a surprise for us, and we'll make it to Austin?  You're quite the comedy relief for the day, man.  Lol
 10. That's a good question.  I had Brook pretty low.

 14. MVP - Quirante - Vidor OMVP - R. Mitchell - Central DMVP - Washington - Nederland

 16.
I know the scoring didn't have anything to do with coaching, Travis does a great job. I know HYCA is a good club with a sensational recruit but 27 points isn't gonna win ya many.It just seems to me like the area big schools struggle to put points on the board.
I've seem small schools struggle to put points on the board this year.  Now that I think about it, that was a memorial's lowest point total thus far..  Every team has it's off games, even your Silsbee's and your H-J's.  So, your comment still remains a head scratcher to me.  Teams, small or big struggle to score points sometimes.  That's all I'm saying.
 17. COACHES FIRED?M  Ohh... We'll, never mind.  8) 8)
 18. You can't say it's coaching because leave it to some, Coach  Williams is one of the best.  You Can't say it's talent because Lott and Chatman is arguably the area's best tandem.  You have to say it's the competition  HCYA is a good team.  Why do you think the Duke and the Texas coaches were there?  Because they have one of the best prospecting the country.  Also, remember.  This Was the championship of the tourney, so obviously, Memorial was scoring enough points up until that point.  Also, remember, no one else was able to beat  this HCYA team.  I'm really interested to see how the area's small school do vs. the likes of HCYA or The Villiage.
 19.
He's a good player and but a go to idk...the games ive seen him play when the defense is in him he forces alot of shots...which is why im saying the should play inside out...not outside in...they dont feature their big man enough...
PAM, big man was passive both times I've seen him play.
 20. Congrats to H-J!  I would love to see them  compete in the YMBL or the Gamble tournament in the future.  ;)
