1. Dunk-o-meter is in place prediction H-J - 3 La Vega - ??
 2. I really don't know anything about Jones.  Havn't seen them this year.  I do have a feeling Ozen will pull it off.  Now the next game.... hmmmmm...  Not so much.
 3.
There is a kid from Marshall who will be a factor around here for a while.  Nederland folks know him from tournament ball.  From what I've seen he is in the top 5 in Bmt for his age.  He had some eligibility issues this year, but won't in the future (or his dad might kill him!). If the current crop of 8th graders decided together where to go (King kids, plus the Marshall kid, etc), it could get interesting.  If there was an obvious choice, i.e. an exceptional coach in the bunch, it would likely happen.  As it is now, who knows.... But I do know that there has been some plotting and planning going on among the kids...
It's really strange that I've seen Marshal MS play last year and this year in Basketball and I've havn't seen a standout kid at all.  Maybe I overlooked him?  I don't know.  Also, it would seem that there would have been some buzz about him by now.

Ozen and Central will we stacked for a few years to come. Should be some exciting basketball in the future.
Appreciate it. The Dawgs will be around for a while too. We return 4 starters next year (3 SR/ 1 JR). Plus 5 Returning Letterman (3 SR/ 2 JRs). We also have a promising 8th grade team who will enter HS next year. The CO Wilson group only lost one game (Bmt MLK)) in two seasons. Their record was somewhere in the ballpark of 35-1! English's little brother is on that team!  ;) Will continue to be a 3 way battle for a while!  8)
Those ML King Middle School kids are in a Central feeder school.  They'll more than likely be suited up in maroon and gray next year.  8) 8)
Doubt that VERY seriously...You will be surprised where those MLK kids could end up... ;)
Watch and see.  8)
How does Central come so close to beating a 5A playoff team, who barely lost their first round game, but then turn around and not make the playoffs in their district??
Our 'Staff's brain juices had a slow leak and was near empty ending the season.

 11. Man, forget that.  The dunk is important.  Bosha and Johnson should have been driving down the lane and smashing on people and look at them when they walk away! 8)

 16.
Why was the central player ejected, I seen on the news he threw the ball but was there something else??
My understanding is that both T's were chicken crap calls.  the first one was after a foul.  Kristain was walking to the free throw line and turned around fast and he and a Kingwood Park players almost ran into each other.  The did the routine brush to the side so that Kris can get to the line and the KP player can line up in the paint.  there were no words, but both players were given a double tech.  The second tech was for throwing the ball after a call.  There was no ref there to throw the ball to, so kris threw the ball at the sidelines, I guess, for the insuing inbound.  Ref T'ed him up.

However, I can not except quitting on the team, it was obvious that is what happened tonight.  Playing a player significant minutes that had not played since the YMBL. Stating your best big for the a great deal of minutes including the entire third quarter. Going small after Christian was ejected, getting out rebounded 11-1 on that call going from 8 down to 18 down purely on rebounds. If u quit u should resign, I know he has to feed his family but that was piss poor. quitting on the kids is un acceptable. I lost ALL respect for Lee tonight. The kp coach did one heck of a job, no true talent but they do exactly what he says and it works, great job kp.
So you are saying that in the last few games of the regular season and the first couple of games in the playoffs, you had no quarrel/complaint with the coach but as soon as he loses, you lose all respect?
I think it has to do with the talent.  The talent carried us to the 3rd round.  I've always had questions about coaching all year with the exeption of a few games.  I wasn't at the game vs. Kingwood Park, but I stayed in touch via Text message with ABSENT.  I've sat with him in several Central games for about 5 years, and I trust his game analysis.
The further forward you move in the playoff, the greater the talent level that you will likely be facing.  I realize that we talk a lot on this board about Centrals talent and rightfully so.  But in each successive game, I think it is highly likely that a team will encounter someone with equal or greater talent.  I didnt see the game either(but I did watch KP play against HJ at the HJ tourney), but another possible explanation is that you ran into a team that had more talent than you did and more experience in the form of upper classmen.
That could be the case.  It's possible.
Um, but Ozen, if I'm not mistaken is sitting pretty in the 4th round of the playoffs, right? And seeing the Ozen game plan, Looks like their staff did pretty good again vs. Nederland's staff.
The Ozen staff almost blew it for the Ozen kids last night too....kids defended and played hard, but were put in a HORRIBLE position by their coach last night in the 2nd quarter...that game should have been a blow out....The Ozen "staff" you are referring to kept it close.
Well, the Ozen staff DIDN'T blow it because they won.  Now, the Central staff, on the other hand....  :-X :-X

Come on I remember when I played Nederland wasn't even supposed to be in the same gym with us. To be honest only reason Ozen's still in the playoffs is because they finished third in their district and got an easy side of the bracket. It's no excuse for Ozen to be finishing 3rd in a weak district is inexcusable GET SAVEAT OUTTA THERE PLAIN AND SIMPLE. But on another note congrats fellows.
Go get Joubert
I see now what you are talking about now, Tebowing.  Although he is an Ozen fan and a fellow Beaumont guy, he has little or no credibility in the basketball or football forum for past comments that he's made.  So, some of his comments are overlooked by me.  with that being said.... Congratulations, Ozen.  Keep it going.  Way to represent in the regional tourney!  Keep executing late in the game, Ozen.  I liked what I saw last night!  Great run, Big Ned!
