1. I want details of this game, not talk about the Jv squad of Nederland missing shots.  I want to know what Ozen did on defense and offens and what the Nederland coach did to adjust to it.  What players showed up and didnt show up.  From judging on the outcome, I would say that DV was dead on when he stated that Big Ned peaked 2 weeks ago.  I will eat crow because I thought Nederland would take it. I knew Nederland would have heck on their 2 trips to Beaumont, but i realistically thought they would lose once here. Great job, Ozen.  Now, we have a 2 way tie for first with nederland facing yet another tough game with the Bears.

There were a lot of smiling and hapiness due to this being the last home game for the seniors. BTW, Dunk count 3-0 Central Are of the dunkks were directly over the head of a Raider player that tried to block it.  Smh.  Can you say posterized?
Sorry Soulja, I believe HJ's dunk count exceeded Centrals.
Really?

 4. Wow!  I wasn't expecting this one. I expected these 2 trips to beaumont to be tough but geeez!  Was Nederland's Coach outcoached again or were the 3 ball not falling?  Or was it that Ozen brought it?

 6.
They should go by FT percentage....but thats not an option is it? But in this case I don't think it makes any sense (other than the immense entertainment value) for them to play each other, they've both shown they can go toe to toe, let 'em settle the on court issue later on.
Yes, But that's the point.  In both Nederland/Central's case and H-J/Silsbee's case, this would be good.  Both teams benefit.  H-J and Silsbee had 2 close games.  Central and Nederland had 1 close non district game and the 2 district games were blowouts for each team, which means that these teams are more evenly matched than some would think.  Let them play.  They're kids (very durable).  The chances of injury in Basketball is there, no doubt, but generally speaking, Basket ball is not as physical of a sport like other sports, IMO.  I would love for these matchups to happen. But If they chose the flipping option, I would not have a problem with that.
 7.
Sheez! God willing, I will go to my kid's Livingston game next year, and not be so selfish about burning my expensive repub  induced gas gauging tax fuel increases, based on a 32 minute game while driving 2 hours and I will not let people like BMTSOULJA influence me from seeing my children's game. :(
;D ;D
 8.
Dogs, I understand your point about playing more tough district games, because it does make a difference.  I'm an SEC football fan, and it's a meat grinder throughout the conference.  I still say that this year HJ and Silsbee are better than anything 20-4A has to offer and would have ended up 1 & 2, but we'll never know for sure. Also, HJ does have some "studs". Prudhomme would be the MVP of the district, and Johnson and Bosha would start at most 20-4A teams.  Several others would play significant minutes at those schools too. Silsbee has Gaines, Elam, & Holmes that I think would start at most of those schools also. It's all just opinion, but it makes for interesting conversation...
Ok, settle down.  ::)
 9. What if the Bench player IS a senior and have been playing on the team the entire year (not a football kid)?
 10.

This happens every where.  Being the mother of a cheerleader I can't make every game she cheers at since I have a much younger child who has to be in bed by 8.  I also have a husband who works late most nights so he isn't here to watch the younger child.  But I do try to make as many games as I can but sometimes I can't be there and I hate it.
That's understandable. I just happen to be in the situation where this son is my youngest one so I have nothing to keep me from going. I can't comprehend how there are some parents that don't show up until it's senior night, if they show up then. My son also plays AAU during the summer, we had a kid that had been on the team for years and his mother showed up for a meeting and the coach had to ask who she was. I know there are circumstances that prevent attending every game but at least make it to a couple.
There is one Ozen player that has a huge family, but they refuse to show up because he's a bench player and havn't gotten in any games.  Just to think, if this kid at least comes in the game sometimes, his family will be there in full force.
 11.
This certainly doesn't apply to the Ozen today....it's sad that there are maybe 50 people in attendance until they play Central. I can't seem to understand why there isn't at least 1 person from the family there for each child participating including the cheerleaders. As unhappy as I am with the way things are going, I can't see not supporting my child (hurry up June 2013).
It was the oposite effect durring the boutte days.  Ozen would come to a gym near you.  You KNEW they would win and it would be ugly.  Not as many people would show up due to the lopsided victories, unless it's playoff games or vs. Central.
 12. It's Griffin that we're talking about.  THROW IT DOWN, BIG FELLA! (in my Bill Walton voice)  ;D
 13. It wasn't even a blasted dunk.  He didn't touch the rim.  he threw it down, therefore, it's NOT 'Billboard' worthy.
 14.
I am taking the Dogs!!!!!
Of course.. As expected.
 15.
That pre-district schedule sucks!  LCM and Lumberton......REALLY?  What the heck does that do for you?  Geeze!!!!!! Why not just play Central?  Let's really play a bad team if that's all we can get.  :o :o
::) ::) ::) ::)
 16. It actually is the coaching.  That 2007 Ozen squad had mediocre talent on it, but they still marched to state.  THAT made a believer out of me.
 17.
Is there a possibility that Ozen simply isnt as good as they have been in the past?  It happens to everyone at one time or another.
I don't know.  Ozen beat Livingston by double digits in the first district meeting.
 18.
I would have gone to game but BMTSOULJA talked me out of it. His theory on driving 2-hours to Livingston to watch a 32 minute basketball made $ents to me.
See there?  ;D

Not that Nederland should not be COMPETITIVE, but the way they have owned 20-4A over the last two years is just not acceptable.
Just a little clarification: WHEN Nederland wins Friday night and next Tuesday, it will be 3 years. ;)
Confident that you'll beat Ozen I see.  ;)
As a loyal fan, I have to be confident that we will win, but I know that Ozen has the ability to win. I wonder if Ozen will come out mad Friday night or demoralized? They prob had all kinds of confidence after beating Central. Just wondering if they have the leadership to bounce back against Nederland after a surprising loss to the Lions last night? Either way, Ned needs to treat this game as a playoff game.
I'm really don't know how to take Ozen now. I've seen them play several times this year.  They've gotten a lot better than they were at the beginning of the year.  Just when you get big on them, they lose to Livingston.  Not a close lose, but a blowout loss.  Yes, you can say that it was a trap game.  But how do you think Nederland will come into this game? They sure in the heck won't be rolling over for them or feeling sorry for Ozen.  Ozen will need to find a way to get that mini-swagger back they had after beating us and incorperated it into Friday night's matchup against Nederland.  I'm just not really sure what Ozen team will show up.
 20. Also, take into account what Ozen has comming back.  They were YOUNG last year.

 22. If Nederland wins district, they'll more than likely face Dayton or one of those other teams trying to get that 4th spot.  Nederland will mop the floor with them.  Now  it gets interesting If something happens if they get #2 seed.  Wouldn't they be looking eye to eye with North Forest?
