2.
Anything more than 5 is a runaway..... ;D ;D :o :o
Really...  5 is a runnaway?  Sounds like a 2 possession game to me, Zeek! Lol
 3. We have changed our starting linup as well.  We didn't start the 3 freshmen in the first 3 games (Very good players), so Ozen will be getting a different look as well. Lazeek, didn't Ozen play Nederland pretty tight in their meeting in Nederland?  I think they led majority of the game.
Don't get me started, man.
WIll you be reporting a dunk count?
As always...  Since that's what the fans think is important.  ;) ;)
 5.
Jags win by 10!!!
You pick Central by 10 over Ozen even after Ozen took 'YOUR' Nederland Bulldogs to the brink of their first loss yesterday?  Interesting.

 7. It may be a mental thing for Ozen. 'We've played these guys 3 times and we've lost to them 3 times, one of the gaes without their best player.  Man, we just CAN'T beat these guys'.  Central comes in saying 'we have to put this team away early.  We're better than them in every aspect and we're playing in front of our crowd.'.  My point being is that this game is all Central's to win.  All they have to do is just do it.  Central shows that they have matured in this district play and put Ozen away early.
 8. Ok, let me get this straight...  Since the dunkometer showed 1-1, and since WO-S's showed on TV, then does that mean that the media felt like the dunkothon was slightly tipped in WO-S's favor?
 9.

Let the healing begin  :D
I don't know that there is a lot of healing that needs to begin.  Yes, there has been much divisiveness in the district, but I don't know that can be left completely at Dr. Thomas' feet, there is a school board that had its role in creating quite a bit of that as well. And I know that Dr. Thomas' tenure will be scarred by a number of controversies (Calvin Walker, transportation department issues, hotelgate, etc).  But as he retires, I don't know that you can say that the Beaumont ISD is in dire shape.  Academically, the district has reached the status as high as exemplary and in fact this past school did enough to do that but for the unacceptable status of a single middle school.  Financially, despite the numerous scandels in which BISD was apparently overcharged, BISD budgetary wise is still in a lot better shape than many of its neighboring school districts. And finally, in the area of athletics while some of the hoped for goals have not been reached, the athletic department is anything but a disaster.  The teams regularly reach the playoffs and in some cases have progressed far.  It has ushered in a new stadium that is in demand for use not only for BISD district games, but playoff games as well and, in fact, was a coin flip away from being host to a regional final game this past season.  Further, that stadium is used by a neighboring district as part of its season opening soccer tournament.  In a time where some districts have been the target of TEA receiverships, layoffs, unacceptable status and being unable to guide through bond issues to upgrade facilities, there are some of us that are quite envious of the state BISD is in now.
Tell 'em again, Grad!  ;)
 10. It's really something seeing this kid at work.  When you look at the starting linups being announced, and you see that Rogers is the shortest kid in the starting linup, you automatically think that you should have your way with him with whoever he is defending.  He is scrappy and is surprisingly athletic tp keep up with the K. Smiths, Trey Greens, and the Collins (livingston kid).  He should be a nominee for defensive player of the year, no doubt.

But congratulations to Nederland on first half of district. :)
No problem. There is no time limit to respond to a post.  :) I was just curious as to why you thought that way, and home court advantage is a big deal in HS basketball. Someone posted on another thread how basketball is a funny game. They brought up that Silsbee beat HJ by 3 and WOS by 7 (at home), then HJ wins at WOS by 30+. Same thing happened last night. Central beat LCM (at Central) by 35+, Ned beat Central (in Ned by 17), then Ned squeaks by LCM (at the Bear's Den) by 2 in OT. Point being that your comment about home court advantage has substance to it, and Ned will have to play a little better to leave Beaumont 2-0 in the 2nd half of district.
Great analysis!  Applause for you!

Did WO-S ring up the dunk-o-meter!  ;D ;D 8) I knew HJ still had something to prove...WOW!
Actually, the 'Stangs did ring up on the dunk o meter... So did the Hawks.
I knew it was going to be an intense, playoff like environment. This was a great win by Big Ned, bc it could easily have gone either way. That big guy is....BIG! This will help both teams for the rest of district and especially the playoffs. Not sure how Central beat LCM by as much as they did a couple of weeks ago, bc LCM has a very good team! Anyone who has to play on their court will have to step it up if they plan to leave there with a win.
LC-M's bigs are the truth.  Once they get the ball down low, there is not much you can do.  We beat them by picking on their weak guard play.  If you cant get it to the bigs and if you swarm the bigs as soon as they touch the ball, you'll beat the Bears every time.  Nevertheless, good win, Dogs!
 14.
Good win for Central.
I agree.  Some of our starters were in foul trouble early, so the bench saw a lot of time in this game. I'm glad we survived PN-G'S onslaught of 3 pointers close to the end.
 15. (whipes sweat off of forehead)  A win is a win.  Good job in going undefeated for the first half of district.
 16. PN-G - 25 Central - 36 end of the third period Last second 3 for PN-G to finish off the third.

End of story.
$100 says Nederland beats Central.
Ohh myyyy!  That's confidence in your team against a team that your team have already lost to.  Wow!
