What to consider before attending Silsbee/HJ Game
BMTSoulja1 replied to BADSANTA's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
1. Call into work that day with the pink eye 2. Buy a jacket 3 times to big to sneak your own snacks in the gym. If you move you lose. 3. Try to avoid sitting next to someone who has a child playing 4. Don't sit next to Aggie/Lazeek. Last year dude had that side door open the entire NiGHT as if it were summer! Low outside was 38. 5. Avoid the guy in the stands who ask you if you would like to make a friendly wager on the game. Neither school has a ATM on campus. 6. If the Hardin County Sheriff ask you to have a seat, please do. These guys don't get much action and have already had their mandatory 11 cups of coffee. Anything can set them off! 7. To HJ fans: avoid accidentally leaving your lights on. If you happen to beat Silsbee, none of us will let you use our jumper cables. That's how it is!
LMBO!!! -

It was merely simple observation, not causing me to be 'troubled' or 'offended', that's all. ;)
No, no one thought that it was invented in HJ as I stated earlier....We made a few comments and you kept bring it up.
i never said central didn't have good players..... central is always athletic, but you can't win with Athleticism alone. Athleticism can hide poor coaching just like good players can. When Green was at central there was good coaching and good teams. And just because a school makes playoffs and gets a playoff win here and there doesn't mean their TEAM is good as a group cause some teams have some individual players who happen to win games for them. GOOD TEAMS go several rounds deep at least. Good players don't always equal good teams Good players can sometimes equal selfishness
True.

Within the last 8 or 9 years, Central went through a spell where we would get good players, but they are small. Only about 3 years ago, we started getting good players with good size. I think that the kids are not different. They have about the same skill set, but our coaching is always holding us back from our true potential. Also, the other teams have became a lot better.
I'm not going to ' give it to you' because I agree with most of what you are saying. The one point that I don't agree with you on is that most are uncoachable. I think it have to do with our staff actually 'Coaching' as it was shown in the beatdown in the 4th quarter Tuesday night. Now, there is 1 Central player that can can say after seeing most of the Central games that are uncoachable (who probably needs to ride the pine for most of the season) and 1 that is on the verge. The rest of the players are COMPLETELY coachable. Also, as I've stated on the preview show last night, the most dangerous teams are the slow down, lethargic type teams, wich is what Central is not. We're good, but if we can't find a way to be able to play these kind of games and actually produce when it requires you to out-think the oposing staff, we'll continue to get exploited by teams like Nederland every time.

Leave campus arrive at Dairy Queen only to find out they have the same policy. 8. Arrive home remove false teeth 9. Dig out Moonshine stash and drink self to sleep.
:o :o ;D ;D -

The wheels came off and Nederland rose to the challenge and put us away when it counted. We know we can play with Nederland. We need to work on some things in the 4th period. We've lost many games this year due to no execution in the 4th. I still say that you need your best players (G. Mitchell and K. Smith) to be in the best positions to do damage on set plays. Smith is a good 3 point shooter. Get him an open 3 point look off an off the ball screen. If they play it too tight, he'll drive in and finish at the cup. Get Mitchell a good look off a quick curl for a midrange jumper. If they overpersue, he can also finish at the cup in traffic. If we want to beat Nederland in the second meeting and make a nice playoff run, these are things that we need to work on for the next few weeks, IMO.
