I feel some kind of way to even entertain this asinine comparison, especially since you and I both know there’s a huge difference between a culture of people vs. animals.

The png folk justified using the mascot, the fight song , ect that the previous Chief gave the blessing. However, the current Chief showed his displeasure and non approval for it, but it’s a different situation now since it does not fit their narrative. All based on tradition. They e been doing it so long that it must be right, RIGHT? Horrible logic.

That’s definitely NOT what I was talking about. And I don’t even think context clues leads up to that assumption…

Yes, but over the years, Disney has owned up to them and have moved on for the better. They’ve been slowly evolving toward what they are now.

First a group of locals mentioned how offensive it was…. Nothing. Then the local Indian tribes said something…. Still nothing. Then the Cherokee Chief himself said he does not support this…. Nothing. Now Disney and TMZ is on PNG’s arse and NOW they’re deleting while social media accounts in order to mask the ‘offensive content’. Looks like the ball is finally going to start rolling on this. I’m sure that if the mascot hasn’t changed by then, I’m sure the halftime performance will look a LOT different this fall.

BU. We lose 2 key role players off the bench and 3 starters, all 3 are all district players and one is an all state player. Gonna lean heavily on the two freahmen, who will be sophomores next year.

My opinion . Payia is good and has potential, but I need to see him work on his game some this off-season. I have high expectations for him next season, higher than many would think. Let’s see how it works out…

Next year, we lose 2 time state tournament MVP Arceneaux and a reserve due to graduation, however, we do return 2 all tournament team players in Porchia/Dotson AND the top scorer (and 5 star recruit) in Yates. Also return a 6’4” big man in Davis and a 6’7” big man. Of those kids get in the gym and get better, I’d hope that’ll be enough to make a return trip to state. But is there anyone in 6a that’s ready to knock off Duncanville? I’m not convinced at this very moment…
