I remember lumberton in 07 having a goid team and giving us a loss. Havent heard much from them lately one good year doesnt make a program. Look out for dayton this year we return more starters than I have seen in a long time. I guess what im saying is we will see hiw good vidor is if we get the chance but im not losing sleep over it
Yes, that Lumberton team shared the district title and knocked off then defending state champs LaMarque. They were good. Yes, I know what you mean about not losing sleep over a team.
You know your dream of BH every night. ;D ;D ;D
Just like you dream of Ozen every night? Naaaah. 8)

This was actually a very good game untill the 4th. The wheels came off and Nederland rose to the challenge and put us away when it counted. We know we can play with Nederland. We need to work on some things in the 4th period. We've lost many games this year due to no execution in the 4th. I still say that you need your best players (G. Mitchell and K. Smith) to be in the best positions to do damage on set plays. Smith is a good 3 point shooter. Get him an open 3 point look off an off the ball screen. If they play it too tight, he'll drive in and finish at the cup. Get Mitchell a good look off a quick curl for a midrange jumper. If they overpersue, he can also finish at the cup in traffic. If we want to beat Nederland in the second meeting and make a nice playoff run, these are things that we need to work on for the next few weeks, IMO.

Nederland deserve all the credit. Another point of the game that I failed to mention. Within 2 minutes, when do we realize that you have to foul and you can't let them play keep away. There were a lot of times where J. Rogers from Nederland had the ball late. You foul him as it appears that he is the worst of the starting Nederland free throw shooters (or foul SOMEBODY for that matter). I assume that our staff didn't see that we were losing by double digits with under 2 minutes left. How could that have been missed?

The first game is in Silsbee, so the Tigers take it. The game in the Hawk's Nest will be H-J.
If you and the Dove are correct, then you need to go ahead and predict who wins the playoff for first place
I think it will be based on Momentum. If our predictions hold up, it would mean that H-J wins the second one at the tail end of the season. The playoff game may swing in H-J's favor. Wait a minute, Nash. Are you in reference to the playoff game of the tiebreaker game for playoff seedings?

Yes, I know, but I'm sure good teams like Montgomery thought it was funny going into the game untill Vidor wiped their smiles off their face. I have no idea if they return their defense, but they do return that Ironman QB of theirs.
What year was it dc gave yall the army strong team of the year
2008. We lost to Friendswood by 1 point and would have been playing Lake Travis the next week.

Man, bump that! What will be the dunk count? ;D ;D I think that this series will be split at home. Tigers take this one 75-72.
This was a down year dayton we had a very young team but still dont think vidor would have beat us. Last I checked png beat vidor so no reason to think it wouldnt have been the same outcome against dayton. Im looking for central to get back into its rightful place this year I still cant imagine central not in the playoffs.
Well, the norm for Central is that we have 2 or 3 strong years then a down year where we miss the playoffs. Check out since we've been 4a: 2002 - Playoffs 1 round 2003 - Playoffs 3 rounds 2004 - Missed playoffs with 1-9 record didn't score a point untill week 4 and only win was against Lumberton 2005 - Outright district champs 2 round playoff run 2006 - Playoffs 2 rounds 2007 - Missed playoffs with 4-6 record 2008 - Playoffs 4 rounds deep 2009 - Playoffs 3 rounds deep 2010 - Outright District Champs 2 rounds deep 2011 - Need I even say? ;D 2012 - Well, you get my drift. ;)
Just have to say one more thing for vp32. Last time we played vidor in district games over 2 years we beat them 40-0 and 42-7.
I know what Vidor team that you're in reference to. But in defense of Vidor, trust me, Bronco, you would not have wanted to see 2011's version of the Pirates. I'm just sayin'.

Livingston make the playoffs??? I think not. I said that LCM would make it, and I still firmly believe that they will!!!!
Ya Zeek, looks like you know your basketball! 8) You've said it a few times now (about LCM). They must have had a really bad game when they played Central last week.
LC-M's guard play is suspect. If they get it down low, it's over. We denied their bigs. Also, their guards were hesetant to fire up the 3 ball. The court was never spreaded. We just sat in their big's front pocket all night. -
When a team is facing the 2 time district Champions, teams flock to the gyms to hopefully see their team dethrone the Champs. It was like that when Ozen was always winning district. You wanted to be there to see your team knock off the champs.
From what I saw on the Carl Padilla site, we will be 21-4A with seven teams in district instead of eight. Livingston is moving to where they belong. No Dayton (and I'm one of the people who DON'T want them in our district). One purple team is enough.
I hope that's true so there can be 4 nondistrict games instead of 3 to prepare.

I'm not buying the racial stuff either. I'm sure the real reason will come to light soon.

There's another game to be played.... this time at Central. So, It may not happen... 8)

We'll regroup and get it together for the next meeting. 8) 8)
Home court advantage always plays a big role in games like this. I'm guessing the next meeting will be intense!
It will be. We should be on another big winning streak when we play again. I cant wait.

This game is exactly how i thought it would be. Nederland started out hot at the begining of the game. We made adjustments and ended up back in the game. Ended the half playing great defense to only see Nederland make a flip up 3. The gAme continued to remain clase until a series of key rebounds by Nederland after free throws game them maybe 6 or 7 straight points. Now, in the 4th period, i have no idea why we went back to the zone. I also dont know why we called off the pressure. We used this to get back in the game. I also dont know why we dont have set plays out of timouts or set plays at all. We have to be able to get buckets or get open looks for buckets. I would say we were outcoached, but this is not the case. We forgot how to make baskets in the 4th and Nederland played their best ball and executed their game plan in this period. Props to them. We look forward to paying them back in the next meeting at Central. The officiating was trash, but i cant complain because it was trash on bpth ends. Dunk count was at 0, but there were some key plays on dunk attempts. K Smith got his dunk attempt blocked from behind and #21 for Nederland got his dunk blocked by our shortest man, a 5'6" freshmen on a breakaway dunk. Lets rebound Friday, Jags, get better and get those bulldogs next time.
I'm guessing he stopped the pressure, because it wasn't effective, and it led to some easy buckets for Ned.
It was effective. It lead to some consecutive turnovers.
