He says that Stump played his favorites and left some great ones on the bench. He also cannot stand the stadium being named what it is. I dont really have an opinion on Stump but would love to know why he left although I know i will never find out. As far as Thomas is concerned I guess that id for you Beaumont folks to work out. Hope you all get a great replacment.
It's laughable when someone says a coach only plays his 'favorites'! Just wonder if your co-worker has ever coached a HS team before? Doesn't he know that coaches want and need to win in order to keep their job(s)? A coach will do anything he can to give his team the best possible chance of winning. Most of the time people make these comments when they have a kid of their own who played for a particular coach but did not get much PT. I didn't play for this Coach Stump, but I did play for his dad and his brother. I never saw them play their 'favorites'.
No his son was a starter for stump.
True.  When he sat out of a game and the backup came in (an underclassmen), he put up huge numbers and shined against a 5a team and never started another game...  except when he was thrusted in action in the Playoff game vs. Deer Park.

 3. That must be West Brook JV because the West Brook varsity will be in the James Gamble Classic in Port Arthur.

Was thinking.the samething. All to his right-hand side too.
The coach should have told that on the ball defender that.  One handed dribblers are the easiest to contain.
Give Jamier some credit. He simply did what the defense allowed. Was there a need for him to dribble with his left? NO.....otherwise he would have.....and still drove in for the game winning shot.  :o
Not taking anything away from the kid, but no way you let one kid dribble the entire length of the court and get in the paint without at least one pass being attempted and know  he's only going right handed.  Horrible defense, but, the kid did make the play.

I think people have issues with Dr. Thomas based on the amount of money he makes and KEEP IT REAL he is African American! The man is doing wonders for Beaumont. All of you criticizing him couldn't and wouldn't do better.
Lord Carroll has turned BISD and Beaumont into a racially divided powder keg ready to explode..  I have 6 family members working for the district..wanna here some stories?  Its a flipping joke what goes on that people never hear about.  "Nugets of wisdom"...ha
You'll be suprised what I know.  And I do know what you mean.  Just so you know, there is another side to it besides the one that your 5 family members are telling you, just for the record.
 6.
BMTSoulJa1, I'm gonna agree with you on this one....Stump left for a better opportunity. IMO, who wouldn't move to a more affluent district with a big pay raise. I'm a supervisor with the big, stinky company on the east side of Beaumont and I can tell you never make a lateral move in business if you can help it. If Jeff Mathews told me he got the job, I would have told him "congratulations, you deserve it" and then doubled down on the Xanax to get over the deep depression that would set in. The same thing happened to you when Donald Stowers left Central. Stowers got a better offer and had to leave. You cried kitty tears all over the place; we could hear you on this side of the Neches. The BISD has issues but it manages three separate schools; it isn't a one horse town like Nederland, Vidor, PNG etc. Certainly, one school is gonna feel slighted over the others. When the people of Beaumont, in particular the supporters of WB, get serious about the affairs of that school, it will change. Were I a WB fan, I would become very vocal about and involved as much as I can with the BISD school board to influence their decision as much as possible. Can't complain if you sit on the sidelines.....
8)
 7.
Can't say its CBT's fault. Stump left for greener pastures! This had to be expected for any coach in Bmt that has any success. The problem I see is the equal pay for all three coaches. Never gonna keep a good coach around with a policy like that.
He didn't leave because of pay.  It's a nonfactor.
 8.
Soulja, first learn how to spell ignorant. Another Carol Thomas tool.
Resorting to spell checking basically shows that you're waiving the white flag on this one because you realize how foolish you sound.  ;) ;) ;)

 10.
Wrong year boss man.  According to the  District Report Cards, all three high schools were Acceptable.  I believe your link was for a previous year which included TPM results.  Which is still good for your district.  I stand corrected for previous years!!!  Lol
Actually, it is right.  Your understanding is not so good.  The link I've given you is for the school district as a whole.  As you can see, we have several schools that are exemprary while Dayton has 0.  That's a Goose egg.  Again, ONE unacceptable rating from a Middle School effected the entire district.  Do you understand now? Am I going too fast for you even though I gave you the link for information?  You're making yourself look like a butt (for use of a better word).
 11. Who said NYTHING about Central?  Since you mentioned it, I'll entertain it.  If you would go back and do a little reseach, (something I see that you DON'T take pride in doing), I've BEEN called for the Central staff's head on a plate.  It sucked big time.  But what the heck does our Coach have to do with what me and Sgt. Rey was discussing? Ignarant post?  Guy, almost ALL your posts are ignarant and you've been called out on that foolishness before.
 12.
Still dodged my questions: Normal....do you know what normal is these days?...Why couldn't we compete with Spring?...Katy?...You tell me why not....then I will show you "normal"....I know everyone will be aboard this....
The thing is, since WHEN did this become a competition?  Who said that we were trying to compete with ANYONE?  That's our problem now.  Lets get some things done that will benifit our kids best.  We have Beaumont kids, not Spring or Katy kids.  Normal as far as what, athletics?  It's so many to name.  Look around you, man.  This is why schools and facilities are upgrading now because they were 'normal'.  West Brook was in the middle of a transition untill the unfortunate incident.  The plan was to have an upgraded facility for West Brook to be taken from the 'normal' status.
 13.
The Thomas question?  Don't know, kind of felt that way.  Maybe I am wrong.  You said that only one school was not Recognized, correct?  I just checked on the TEA website and all of Beaumont's high schools were Academically Acceptable. Same as Dayton's..... You are more than welcome.
Go to this link. [Hidden Content] You see where ONE school, Smith Middle school is Academically Unacceptable, wich pulled BISD as a whole as Academically Acceptable.  As you know, there cannot have one UNACCEPTABLE if you hope to get Exemplary.  Dayton, on the other hand, had not ONE exemplary anywhere.  BISD had many schools with Exemplary.  Dayton had non and a school that was unacceptable.  See what slinging mud will get you? With that being said, I'm done with the Pissing contest.
 14. It a blasted weight room.  You'll get the same workout from 'regular' weights than top of the line weights.  A 50 lb. dumbbell is a 50 lb. dumbbell , no matter how you slice it.  I said nothing about Life and all that other hooblah you're mentioning.  You moved a scaffold.  Here is the $300K check my friend!  ;D
 15.
WOW!!!  How is that nerve doing that I hit? I believe I said earlier that Beaumont has some great students and teachers.  Congratulations for having some of those in the family.  You should be proud.
Uhh, no.  Why would you think that?  BTW, you still didn't answer my last question. Thanks for the compliment.
 16. I agree with you there.  The name of the stadium is not the best name as stated.  But me and a lot of others are not going to cry over spilled milk. Now, you make mention of what can be done with the money.  All of the things (the things that you bring mention and the things that we have) are optional.  Those are things we can do without.  An indoor facility?  Why not just practice outside?  A top of the line weight room?  Will a NORMAL weight room be sufficient?  I agree with you.  We cold do without the BISD police and we can use regular trucks instead of the King Ranch.  And who said we were in competition with Spring or any other place?  We need to do what it takes to make us successful.  Chain of comand to move a scaffold?  All I have to say about that is WOW.  Just like you've stated, you moved it in 2 minutes, right?
 17.
I. Was thinking.the samething. All to his right-hand side too.
The coach should have told that on the ball defender that.  One handed dribblers are the easiest to contain.
 18. Who said I was a Thomas supporter?  And since BISD is bigger than Dayton ISD, that makes Dayton irrelivant to the conversation?  Hogwash!  You are darn right Dayton have their problems, and I very well could fire away on it, but I won't because I'm smart enough to know that NO district is perfect.  Just for future reference, just make sure that YOUR back yard is clean before you start slinging mud.  I'll leave it at that.  We have kids that are getting a great education and we have teachers and 'higher ups' that are doing a great job steering them in the right direction.  In 2012, I will have several relatives graduating and look forward to them being a productive addition to society, thanks to home upbringing and GOOD roll models and teachers at these schools.  Test scores looked good.  The only reason BISD failed to hit Recognized is because of ONE school. Just one.  If one school does not hit recognized, the district cannot obtain that status.  By the way, where was Dayton ISD ranked.  Just curious?
 19. There is NO way you let that young man get in the paint like that.  Stop the ball.  Horrible defense...  and it cost them the game.
 20. An Overtime win is great experience for a young team.  Great confidence builder.  They will need to get a lot better if they want to get with Ozen, Central, or Nederland.  Hopefully, they'll gain some experience from their next tournament.
 21.
Sorry for taking so long to get back with you all.  Is Dayton utopia?  No, everywhere has it's problems.  But when the state of Texas cannot set the passing standards for the new tests that are coming out until they get the results in from Houston, Dallas and Beaumont (their tests will be graded first) then you can surmise it is to see where the passing standards have to be set and how low they must be set.  You really do not think that Governor Perry would allow for the state's new tests to fall flat on it's face, do you?  If you set the passing standard before the test, which is when it should be set, and the big districts fail, that does not look good for a presidential nominee.  So really I guess I mis-spoke when I called Beaumont, Dallas, and Houston ISD a joke.  They are really failures that will be made successful by a joke of a Governor that is trying to be President. Is everyone in these districts failures, absolutely not!!!  There are some great teachers and great students in these districts, and a lot of them.  They just get overshadowed by the majority.  I bet I know where the response to this post is going!!!
Seems like you're reaching just to prove a point that isn't there at all.  These 'Big' districts are failures, right?  Is that what you want to refer to them now?(nice way to clean it up).  You throw the governer in?  And now before I begin to rip you apart, you Make mention that you know what I'm going to say.  Come on, then.  What will I say about Dayton ISD?  (This is going to be fun.  This will save me more typing.  ;) )
 22. Basically, if ANYTHING happens, just blame Dr. Thomas and be done with it.  uandme08 , I wish the Kids at Ozen the best of luck.  I happen to know several Ozen kids and they are great kids.  (not thugs or hoolums).  I'll be there to root them on come graduation this Spring.
 23.

Extreme class act in Coach Stump!!! Better things are ahead for him!!!  WB's loss, BISD's ignorance. .....same old, same old.  No worries, fb fans in Beaumont, they still have the Palace.  Quality Coaching, quality teaching  still doesn't matter to BISD.
So is there only quality coaching and teaching at WB? Was Coach Stump the only quality coach in BISD? I beg to differ if so. One of my sons graduated from Ozen and received a quality education. Just as my other son is at  Ozen now and is receiving a quality education and has received quality coaching thus far, no the programs haven't been all successful but he is there to learn more than to winning. Yes, BISD has its share of problems just as any other district. Each child is offered the same learning experience as the next one which shows in the magnet programs accepting students from all 3 high schools. All 3 high schools rate fairly well with the amount of academic and athletic scholarships at the end of the school year. Not sure that Coach Stump feels that any child will be left behind because of his departure.
I will now applaud this post.
That's very cute.  And I suppose Dayton ISD is the utopia of school districts in the state of Texas, right?  I would love to hear this.
Atleast Dayton held onto there head coach and didn't chase him off.  ::)  8)
Once again, your understanding and comprehension is lacking again. No one chased him off.  Let that guy answer the question. I want to know how BISD is a joke and how Dayton ISD is the utopia of school districts in Texas.
I'm not stopping him from answering. He can answer away. And when did he say Dayton ISD is the utopia of school districts in Texas?
Most people just start talking to co-sign for someon they think have credibility and have nothing backing what they say.  This guy is a Dayton fan that follows Dayton.  So for him to call BISD, Dallas ISD, and Houston ISD a joke, he must think that Dayton ISD is all peaches and roses.  I'm simply waiting on his response...  8) 8)
So your assuming he thinks that. Thank you that's all I wanted to know.  8)
Put yourself in his shoes.  You wouldn't call BISD a joke unless you know that Vidor ISD is great, because you know that my rebuttal will be on your district.  You know I'm right.

Lets take a look back at the coaches in WB's history.... Alex Durley (82-84) had a record of 32-7-1, and a State Title to his credit. Leo Nolan (85) The Bruins went 4-5 under his watch. Jerry Henschell (86-96) The Bruins had a record of 86-35-1, and numerous playoff appearances, but never reached farther than a Quarterfinal loss to Katy in 1994. Al Rabb (97-04) Talent depleted, for the most part, the Bruins could only muster a 25-58 record under Rabb. Craig Stump (05-11) Coach Stump has a 57-23 record in his tenure at the Brook, making it to the 2nd round of the playoff every year except the '11 season. West Brook is 204-128-2 lifetime in 5A football. So, you see gang, there seems to be a pattern of up and down, up and down, in the history at WB. I may be reading too much into this, or have too much time on my hands at work, but if history repeats itself, we are in for a few down years in the near future. I hope I'm wrong and we never miss a beat, but from where I'm sitting, it dont look good.
And durring those 'down years', I want to see these same West Brook fans in full force supporting their team.
[IMG][Hidden Content]] You really wanna talk about fan support soulja?
Yes.  Let's...  8)
By the way that game was Central's homecoming. And i'm gonna let the picture do my talking for me.  8)
I was at this game.  You showed this pictured almost at the end of the game.  Central fans were there.  Most of the fans left after halftime.  Most couldn't stand to watch it anymore.  Show the stands of Central side last  year or any other year.  As you have seen from most of my posts about Central's football team this year, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could see what the problem was.  Find the 2010 outright district champion Jaguars side of the stands at the Vidor game or any game and let's see.
