I'll trade your overtime loss for our 32 point halftime deficit!
Yea, Good way to look at it.  And WO-S looked like a pretty decent team when I last saw them.  They actually wasn't really that bad when the played Nederland last time.  What's going on?  Is that little shooter #4 not getting any good outside looks?

 4. Take notes at how Nederland jumps out and takes care of business early.  SOMEONE needs to take notes.  When you play teams who you're obviously better than, I should show.  Congrads to Nederland for grabbing the bull around the horns early.
 5.
PAM was down 60-51 with 2 minutes left, then preceded to outscore Central 10-1 to end regulation, then 4-0 in OT. A 14-1 run to defeat Central.
This is what happens when you sit on the bench and you  refuse to get up and actually draw up a play to get your best player in the best positions to score.  You do NOT end a game like that.  No way possible.  I'veseen this Memorial team.  Truth be told, the game Tuesday wasn't supposed to even go into OT.  Coaches need to sit down and re-evaluate their methods. We need points in the clutch, there should be plays drawn up and ready to go.  a quick screen, quick post up,draw a foul, something.  when the other team holds the ball, you're athletic enough to go out and get them.  You don't stand around waiting.  Just like the football team, there is talent that will yet again get squandered throughout the year.  We've go to get it together, seriously.

PAM to the line shooting two, first made, second made Final Port Arthur Memorial      65 Beaumont Central          61    OT Titans outscore Jaguars 4-0 in overtime!!
Pitiful.  Simply put.
Interesting concept you just reminded of,  most people don't know the difference between a scorer and shooter.
He wasn't a shooter, I can tell you that.  ;D
Sounds like he is a scorer. Shooters will get you in trouble when they go cold.
The ONLY time Gulley used to get you in trouble is when he decides to start playing lazy defense like going under picks instead of over them or stupid reaching.

 13. Panamamyers (sp) had a post that is on 'Dayton's' sigature that I think hands down takes the cake.  Something about a player trying a baseball slide tackle on another player on the first play from scrimmage.
 14. Can someone please keep this updated?  I probably will be missing the Memorial/Central matchup.  Thanks in advance.
 15.

As Koko Taylor used to sing, "Only time will tell" if HJ has a week schedule.  Two of the teams we beat took what, 2nd (Nederland) and 4th (Central) in the YMBL? And by what, an average of something like 25 points. As I mentioned last week, playing LC-M as your 7th game in 5 days, and as part of a 13 games in 10 days run is not called a weak schedule in my book. Marathons like this are going to pay off when you are 6 games deep in the play-offs and the score is tied with 3 minutes to go in the game.  HJ will have the legs and the heart to finish the other team off.
Central barley beat Memorial. Some teams are not that strong as some may think.
Very questionable game was the Memorial/Central game Turesday night.  Questionable officiating and the two ladies that ran the scoreboard shaved a few points off the board that the officials never corrected even though she was heckled by 'us' and even made aware of this by our coach.
 16. This has nothing to do with winning or losing.  So in other words, has nothing to do with the players.
 17. AAW, i was talking about the Village team with the big man.  I question if his teammates are any good.
 18. yea, I read it last week again.  I was crying laughing...
i think we need to dig up some old showstopper post for the newbies.  If you never experienced showstopper then you missed outa!
There is some stored in the 'classics' section.  lol
 20.
Who does Silsbee play in the 1st round of Nederland Tourney?
HCYA
 21. There may be a few things to work on, but a 20+ win is nothing but positive.  From what I hear, LC-M had it clogged inthe middle, but you have players like the young gun Bosha and other players that can hit it from downtown.  Prudhomme also seems to have a nice midrange game.  and from what I gather, you pressure D gave the Bears fits, as it will with a lot of teams you face this year.  Realize that you won't always beat medeocre or bad teams by30 or 40+.  Take these wins, get better, and get ready for a deep playoff push, as I pretty much expect...
 22. I saw the video clip of him last year and th is year.  He does have a lot of upside.  However, I question the playing ability of the rest of his teamates.  what is this team's record up to this point anyway?
 23.

paler?  Isn't that somone who's at a beach and puts sand in a 'pale'?  (ok, the thought in my head was funny.  ;D ;D  )
I was thinking it was someone who does NOT go to the beach, therefore he is 'paler' than other kids who go to the beach!  ;D ;D
Yea!  Now that's funny!  ;D ;D
 24. Started the game off in control.  At that point, Coach Williams from Memorial called plays that got #1 for Memorial open for a lot of catch and shoot 'Reggie Miller' type off screen 3's.  he brought them back in the game and Memorial actually built a 10 point lead.  We made adjustments to fight back but the little point guard shot a 3 from 2 feet behind the 3 point line.  With 10 seconds left, Kriston Smith, instead of taking it to the cup, elected to shoot an nba range 3 of his own that went short.  In Overtime, there were several defensive stands.  There wasn't a lot of points scored.  We then went to stall and relied on a 3 from one of out underclassmen bench players (the kid with the Scottie Pippin afro, don't know his name yet.  lol).  He drained the 3 with time running out to escape with this one.  What this game did show me was that we do have other good 'shooters' on this team.  We have kids that have a really nice midrange game that should be utilized when district rolls around. I've also seen that #24, the 6'6" freshman post player can shoot the 3 ball as well.  I like the way it's comming along.  Can't wait to see them mix it up at the Nederland tournament starting with the rematch with Memorial.  Let's get it, Jags!
