1. This H-J team have the chance to do some good things.  I don't have any constructive comments.  If they keep playing the way that they are playing, they could be playing for title.
2. Wasn't really a negative comment.  It was a cool dunk, it's just that I've seen better.  That's why I gave it a 7.
3. I give that dunk a 7.  He just rose up and dunked.  It wasn't on anyone.  It was just a 1 handed stuff.  No double clutching or 360 action or 'crossover and dunk'  ::) ::) .  No lob and dunk.
4. I'll be in attendence with a West Brook fan rooting on them Mighty, Mighty Titans.
5. Great run, Ozen.  For a team that was 'let in' the playoffs, you sure did do some damage and gave LaMarque all they wanted and some.  I'll always remember this 'never die' team.  Hold your heads up high, little brothers.
6.
Against the better teams, Central is going to need some better outside shooting especially when the defense is not playing man to man.  Smith had his way in the Westbrook game and went to the basket whenever he wanted to.  He faced a different situation Friday afternoon and when that happens, somebody else has to be ready to contribute more.
Now, Make no mistake at all, Smith still let all Central scorers and did fairly well.  But just like you said, he was not ablwe to do it at will as in the West Brook game.  That's when we need plays called to get him free or more room to operate.  That's what was not seen last night.  In order for us to beat really good teams like H-J, we will need to get this done...  well, along with way better free throw shooting.
7.
Who was your best Team that you feel underachieved?? For me it would have to be the 2009 Central Team that only went three rounds and end up getting blown out by Friendswood..I feel we should have did better mainly On Defense..Also our Offense really didnt show as much as they should.. Also our 2003 team who had the game won against Bay City in the 3rd round but let it slip through our hands..That team had arguably the best Defense to come through SETX lead by LB David Dixion and Anthony Collins Honarable Mention 2010 team, that lost to Humble, that team had alot of Hype but only manage to go 2rounds
David Dixon graduated in 2003.  He didn't play on the 2003 football team...  That team featured Jordy Matherson, Mike Feacher, the RB, Ivory 'Chopper' Williams and Anthony Collins.  I'd have to give an Over achiever and under achiever.  Over have to go to the 2008 team.  Under is probably the 2007 team that missed the playoffs.  We were loaded and had 2 blue chippers that were Brothers (Derrick Hall (Navorro and Tulsa) and Charlie Thomas (Texas A&M).
8. Now, this could get interesting.  Ozen is still playing football.  We don't know if thOzen will be getting their football players back or not.  Ozen's best player or players play football, so the results of this one can hinge.  Will Ozen lose in football?  If they lose, will the football playrrs be conditioned enough to be their regular selves on the court?  I don't know.  What I DO know is that Ozen just lost in Double OT to a team that they beat by 20 last week.  Also, Silsbee have been playing lights out.
9. Evidently, while listening to fans last night, the little guard from H-J transferred from Central.  I've hear 2 stories.  1 is that he was on the end of the bench and couldn't cut the mustard to get in games.  The other story is that he was not given a chance because of 'favoratism'.  I don't think we'll ever know the REAL story since one story comes from H-J fans and the other sides comes from Central fans.  Now, I'm assuming that Dove's boys play fot Ozen now.  NOT Central, but Ozen and plays on JV team.  So, where and how is the confusion?
10.
Prudhomme is a beast! He will be SETX's poster child this year.
I've seen Prudhomme play last year. Nothing that he done last night surprised me at all.  Yes, he very well may become the 'Stallworth 'of last year.
11. We played H-J last year and #10 for them got probably the same amound of dunks.  I don't buy into that Dunk meter stuff.  I'm sorry.  Call me old school or whatever.  You dunk, and iLll beat you with a smooth layup or an open 3.  I bet the crowd or those excited players will sit down fast.  I do admit that our coach should have been more invilved or 'animated.  (see coach Travis Williams from Memorial). I do think we need timeouts when we have multiple turnovers that lead to multiple points.  I do think our best players need to be put in great positions to create havock on opposing teams.  I do see that #25 G. Mitchell is a good player and great athlete that can very well be another weapon if used correctly. Also, I think this team is good enoug to win our district.  This H-J team beat our defending district champs by 30. We do have one of the tallest teams from an average standpoint that I've seen in like a decade.  If we can find a really good guard and a few more shooters, we'll be ok.
12. So, will someone show me a stat for  for 'crossing over' and one for dunking?  Does crossing over equate 2 points? Is a dunk a 3 pointer or a 4 pointer?  Fact of the matter was Prudhomme was a man out there and did great things.  Took high percentage shots, crashed the boeards, played excellent defense, and made plays down the stretch for his team.  He also showed leadership to the young guns on the team by directing the underclassmen. H-J should be considered the best in SETX at this point.  This Central team have taken a lot from this game.  I just hope we come out and play like a hungry team the rest of the way, even perhaps a good showing in the YMBL tourney.  3rd place finish is a realistic ranking, I must say.
13. No Timouts being called or nothing. We expect a dep playoff run and we're not even competing with a 3a school. I know H-J is good, but geesh, show some fire and urgency. Lets see what we'll do in the second half.
A 3-A school. Sorry, but Central should be ashamed!
We're not ashamed at all.  We'll be fine.  I just hope our staff will have a better game plan when we face another good team. We've done good.  Had it would have been anyone else, H-J would have probably beaten them by 30+ points.  They're that good.
Its way too early in the season to be concerned about a loss.  At this point last year, HJ had consecutive losses to Nederland and Central and wound up in the regional tourney.  It matters more to what degree a team improves from this point forward.  Sometimes players (no matter how good they are or supposed to be) must take what the defense gives them.  Its pretty difficult to try to shake and bake your way to a layup against the Hawks.  You also need to have some threats from the outside.  Except for the first couple of threes that Smith attempted, not much fell from the outside for Central.  I also believe that Smith being in foul trouble crippled him to some degree.  Central is extremely athletic and fast.  From my viewpoint, they just need to make better adjustments to what the other team is doing.  In most instances, their athleticism will carry them through, but it wont always be that way.
Great analysis!
14. Actually, The Ozen, Memorial game went into Double OT.  That's the update that I was given.
15.

It's hard to call plays when your lips are sealed shut. 16. I don't think Kountze is really that good this year...  This is not the only big loss that Kountze have taken on the chin this year.
17. Big Ford, we have a big time player  too. H-J put him in great positions to cause damage...  Our coach wouldn't get up and call a single play.  He rather sit there and look cool.  Not once did he try to argue a call or call a timeout to adjust to H-J's trapping defense.  Just like I've stated before, our overall team talent will be enough for most of the games this year.  We'll probably win didtrict on talent alone.  But at some point, we will need our prime time players to step up.  Tonight, Prudhomme came through in a major way all over the court.  Not saying that Smith from Central didn't, because I know he had a big game and got a few dunks (since some people seem to think this is a new kind of stat even though a dunk, in my book is still 2 points), but we needed him in that run we had in the third period.  We need plays to get him open.  I'll take that loss on the chin to H-J.  They are a good team and they will give their district and most in the state fits.
18. Yea, I was wrong...  Silsbee put it on Kountze pretty bad...
19. This H-J team is for real.  The talent we have will win us district. A long season is missing the playoffs or coming in 4th place.  We'll be ok, trust me.  Area for improvement.  Free throws.  We need to press a lot more.  We have the length.  Now, this Prudhomme kid is a beast.  We had NO answer for him.  When H-J needed a bug bucket, they got it from him.  We need to find a way to get our best player in positions to do damage. H-J - 74 Central - 61 Final

21. H-J - 39 Central - 25 Halftime With a heave up 3 at the halftime buzzer by # 12 from H-J.  When you're in a pickle and need plays called , we have staff members sitting on the bench with them head in their hands.  No excuses this year.  At he rate we're going, we'll get ran out the gym. And it seems that 'they' are ok with it.  Lets see if any halftme adjustments are made.
