1. Do you see what having dominant bigs in the middle will do for you?  Both are 6'5" and both have moves down low and play good defense.  If you can consistant medeocre games from the guards, this team will not go down easy for Yates, Ball (they know who Nederland is already), or LaMarque...
 2.
Well, since no one around here has beaten us, the next best thing is to find someone who can. "I'll get my brother to beat you up!" If you don't believe you can win it all, then you won't.
PA Memorial would beg to differ...  ;D ;D
 3. Nope.  Even if Nederland somehow played very consistant ball, they wouldn't win state.  Maybe they can play with G-Ball or LaMarque and make it a close game if they are consistant, but they won't comming out of Region 3 let alone making state.
If they beat Vidor, Livingston, and PNG I would like their chances at getting in as the 4th seed. Plus an upset of Central, Ozen, or Nederland would do wonders.
Don't jinx us!  So far, the season series with Central/LC-M is 1-1.  We beat them in a tourney by 20 and they beat us in a district game in Orange by 5.  So would it really be an upset if LC-M beats us?
I think it would be an upset because Central is currently +15 on the season series, has more talent IMO, and currently has a 2 game district edge over the Bears.
Very good points.  That makes a lot of sense.  I, myself, don't think we'll be losing to them @ Central...

 8. I do understand what you are saying, but the job he did on that 2007 state finalist team with 'medeocre' talent was superior coaching.  That team consisted of Kris Richards and a bunch of 'ok' players.  They beat Central twice that year, which IMO had the more talented team that year.  then they proceeded to get win after win in the playoffs, beating teams by like 1 or 2 points.  Ozen's coaching was a thing of beauty that year.

 12. We used to beat them all the time  before Kendrick Perkins arrived, which was like in 2000.  We didn't beat them in 9 years after.  Beat them last year @ Ozen in OT.  Beat them again yesterday @ Central.

 15.
Central's seniors really showed up last night. Allen, Fruge, Fonteneaux, and Ferguson played really well knocking down open shots and playing excellent defense.
Allen did a good job of battling tough with a kid that's about half a foot taller than him.  Ferguson came in and played excellent defense helping to force a few turnovers.
I don't know where any of them went to elementary.  I do know for a fact that Cunningham and Forney have went to school and have been my son's friends since the 6th grade at Central Middle School.  They live within NISD boundaries last time I checked.  Furthermore, I know for a fact the Smith was at PN Middle School and transferred to Nederland in high school.  Although I know they are not who you are commenting on, Wagner and English have been in NISD since they started to school.  Mitchell is the only player I am not sure of.  But it really doesn't matter.  They are attending NHS legally and who can blame any of them if they choose a better rated school.  I chalk these comments up to haters.
Me?
Will know for sure next year when all of Mermorial players are gone  ;)
U obviously don't remember what he did with Vidor talent-they went to playlets four years straight! Before then, NEVER!!! since he left, not ONE playoff appearance!! Nederland had not made the playoff in 15 years until he arrived. Since then, 3 playoff trips, and (about to be) two straight district titles-enough said!!!
Vidor did not make the playoffs 4 years straight.  The team that beat Ozen 3 times in 1 year made the playoffs and lost in the first round.
 20. You know, Nederland would be scary good if they can start games off like they finish.  But you cannot argue with wins.  Way to turn up the heat when needed and pull away.  8)
 21. The ability of Mitchel to be able to score in the paint either with the short jumper or the drive and finish either direction opened up a lot of things for us last night.  Ozen's bigs were in foul trouble so Ozen's guards had to help out and close in the middle, opening up things for Fruge and Smith.  Also, Ozen had trouble with our zone defenses and wasn't able to score consistantly unless Trey Green created a shot for them.  The game plan that the Central coach put together really impressed me.  I just hope we can stay consistant and keep winning...
I love watching her play.  She's listed as a post with the size for it, but she has a guard mentality. The way she dribble, shoot, and pass the bullet pass, I can see her playing someone's guard at the next level.  And what's scary is that she is just a Soph!
