2. Good deal.  I was very suprised with this kid's jumping ability.  Not only that, he have a nice mid range jumper.  Keep up the good work, young fella!
 3.
I'm surprised the Ozen faithful and BISD are not screaming for the boy's bb coach at Ozen to be reassigned ... the Panthers had to scratch out a 2-point win at HOME versus PN-G?  My Indians, try as we may, are not and probably never will be a basketball school.  We play hard and compete, but for whatever the reasons, we are just not a basketball school.  Football, Spring Football, Baseball, Golf, Track and Field, Soccer, Cross-Country, Tennis...here comes Basketball....  Yet, my beloved Tribe fought the Panthers to the end and let them escape with a 2-point win. Hard to believe more of the Ozen fans are not on this board asking, "Is PN-G improved, or has our program slipped?"  I don't know the answer.  I hope it is because PN-G is improved and the Tribe has a shot to fight and scratch for some post-season play.  (Go Indians) And, the Bulldogs go into the Jags gym and takes home a W.  Time to start talking about Nederland as the favorite to win the outright DC in 20-4A?   :o Go Indians.  Peace.
Ozen's program may have dropped a little but one thing for sure.  They are still undefeated in district.  A win is a win.  They are still playing for a district title.  PN-G may have came to play, but they still lost.  And if Ozen keeps winning ,even if it's 1 point wins and win district, It will be an accomplishment and the Ozen faithfull will not be calling for the coach's head.  Yes, Nederland is the favorates to win district.  Remember, they are the defending district champs.  Nederland's success right now shouldn't be a suprise to anyone...

That means the new players will put pressure on the older players to perform in practice and games. Probably a good move by the coach. It keeps pressure off him for awhile. Especially if it works in the next few weeks.
... but don't you do that in the preseason and not in the middle of district against the 1st place team?!?
That's what I was thinking...

They just passed the bal around to open players, which they were open all night due to players being out of position.  Just play man.  We have the advantage at speed but not in size down low.  Just come with a quick double team to stop the initial move by Nederland's bigs.  I'm telling you...  If we keep doing this and letting Kristen smith sit almost the whole second half, We won't be beating many teams in this district and we will miss the playoffs...  And I can't remember us missing the playoffs.. SAD, SAD, SAD...
Kristian Smith got his four foul early in the third quarter. I am sure that the coach was saving him for the end of the game.  He came back in and got foul five almost immediately.  Did anyone else notice that Fruge, Heard, Allen and Pickett were not playing.  Sounds a lot like the starters to me.   The former coach from Central was at the game tonight.  Scouting for Ozen, from what I hear.  Now that is sad, sad, sad since he is am assistant principal at PA Memorial.......................
I saw the former Coach there...  And yes, I did notice..  Allen, Fruge, and Pickett are starters...  I have no idea why they didn't play... And I didn't see them on the bench either...
Erwin scored 11 points against Silsbee, 6 in 1st half, 5 in second half, in a 91-42 loss to Silsbee. I think the Tigers handled him very well, even without the services of their best player, DC Stallworth. DC more than likely would have swatted away some of Erwins shots. ;) Robertson of Burkeville actually led them in scoring with 12, Bran also had 10. I have seen better point guards in the area.
Ouch...
