1. Seems like you have a hard time understanding, because I never said the Tigers don't have a chance.  Actually, I'm going for them.  We (Central) have a deep down hatred for Galveston Ball that goes way back...
 2. That's funny...  The only thing I have said this year in reference to H-J iss that they will not beat Silsbee, now I'm against them...
 3. 'There goes that man!'.  Gone ahead and take that state title!!! 8)
 4.
BMTSoulja, I have seen some of the greatest teams in Houston history. I watched TJ Ford/Ewing at Willowridge, 07-09 Jack Yates, 01/02 Belliare Okafor/Lucas, 01 Ozen, Houston Wheatly, Dallas Kimball teams, and all of those PA Lincoln teams. Ball isnt in the same gym as them. Ill take it a step furthur, Ball wont even get to state this year. Why? LaMarque has a better all around team and will win it all in 4A. Also dont count out this years yates team. Everyone please stop holding Galveston Balls (balls) and get real. They are very talented but Silsbee will come to play. If they lose, it isnt district and its not the playoffs.
Not once did you see me say anything remotely close to implying that I'm holding Ball's 'balls'. I was just pointing out that silly post of 'Silsbee will win because they play team ball'.  You didn't say they will win because Silsbee will execute better or anything like that...
 5. OK, I get it now...You mean the kid with the dred locks, flat tops, or mohawks are have an attitude problem or are trouble, right?  I'm sorry I missed that...
 6.
Your skills are not judged by how you look.  If you have been around any kind of Basketball, you should know that.  the big slioppy looking slow kid may be the high flyer.  So that throws your theory out of the window. Quoted from previous thread Obviously You and I differ on that opinion.  The minute you step on the court you are judged, same as when you walk in any room for a job interview. You must look presentable.  The big sloppy kid may be the best kid on the court, but if he has an attitude, and thinks he runs the show he does not get any respect from me.  I am around basketball all the time, and I guarnatee the kids that succeed in life are the ones that have learned to respect themselves, and their coaches.  You obiviously like the kids that have attitude and are not team players.  Your preaching here on this thread is proof of that.  You never once mention the kids that may not be the star but show up every game, listen to their coach, and play by the rules.
Who said anything about a kid's attitude?  Seems like your grasping for straws. Typical when you have no agument.  Talking about kids who listen and do the right thing...  I've said this like 10 times now.  Go back and read a little..
 7.
Silsbee 65 Ball 62! Crazier things have happened! Don't count out the Tigers. I think they will play better than what most people think they will play. Who cares if a team has a bunch of D1 players. It takes a team effort. Not a bunch of individuals. Let's go Tigers!
Are you saying thay Galveston Ball don't play as a team?
 8.
I want to hear Stevenash's take on this game...
I guess he has a 'no comment' on this...
 9.
Brook had 5 on the bench at the YMBL
Nope.  I was there.  5 players starting, 2 on the bench ready to go, one player with his letterman jacket on in crutches, and assistant coaches and the trainer at the Ozen Game at Ozen at the Fred Williams Classic...
 10. And when I saw them play Ozen last week, they only had 7 total players...  5 starters and 2 on the bench.  I don't know if things have changed though...
 11.
Haven't seen Silsbee play, but Christian Like and Ball looked like head and shoulders better then any team I seen out there. I thought Christian Life should've won against Ball, but shot 3's too much. They had some really tall kids, but didn't go to the basket as much.
Whaaaat?!  I thought you was a football guy.  What you doing talking basketball with us?  :D
 12. Ok. Thanks.  This should be a good one.  Brook took down Ozen a couple of games ago and also beat us as well...  This may be a good game to judge Nederland on.

Well he didnt have it cut and he tried to come to practice and Coach Green turned him around and told him he couldnt be a part of the team.Could we have used him,HECK YEA but we folllowed Coach Green 100%. No one person is above the team and a rule is a rule.
Was his fro neat?
yea but the rule was no arfo or braids and face shaved. shan herring cut his, dominique young cut his, skip jackson cut his,but he didnt and couldnt play cuz he didnt make the deadline
I didn't know Coach Green's rules namely because when I was at Central, no one wore braids.  But they wore flat tops...  And Coach Green did allow that back then...
 14. Backbone9, you do know that Galveston Ball is ranked #1 in the state in 4a, right?

 17.
Let me just say, when you are out on a basketball you are front and center in front of the entire audience.  People judge you as an athlete based on your appearance, grooming, heighth, attitude and skill level.  By having your team look groomed and respectful you take some of the judgement out of the picture, and it gives more time to see the athlete.  I do not know why people have such a hard time letting kids learn self-disicipline.  I would also like to see rules in place that make the boys wear pants that fit, I am tired of seeing rears hanging out on the court. Lead by example people.  People want everything to be easy and freedom of expression, what about team values working for the greater good of the school, team, community and the world. I am just saying.......................By the way I do have a son that plays basketball, and I make him keep a neat haircut, pants that fit, and no sweat bands, no funky socks, and he wears the shoes the team provides.  He is part of the team when he walks on the court, not an indvidual for those 4 quarters.
Your skills are not judged by how you look.  If you have been around any kind of Basketball, you should know that.  the big slioppy looking slow kid may be the high flyer.  So that throws your theory out of the window.  The kids already know self discipline.  They are winning they have good sportsmanship and they do everything they are asked to out of their coach!  (Why is it so hard for folks to understand this concept?) I'm not a fan of 'slabbing' (pants falling off your rear), but i'm also not a fan of those old timing high shorts that comes up the middle of your thigh (seems like that's what you prefer to see).  And sweatbands?  Their for 'sweat'!  Stops the sweat from goign in your eyes.  And you want it to match your uniform.  (I can tell that you have never played a lick of basketball before).  Basketball shoes?  If the team provides them, then so be it.  If he wants another pair of shoes, they will  need to be the color of the shoes the team provides.
 18. Who said I didn't go for Silsbee?  I did say that they will beat H-J.  And besides.  My team is 4a...  Tigers are 3a...  and these teams will not play each other this year...
 19.
Aggiearewe why do you even waste the time to type talking to some of these people. Sounds to me its a bunch of outsiders wanting to start crap with the Silsbee community. Don't waste your time trying to explain what's been written in a Enterprise article.
I've spoken my say on the issue and have been finished.  but it's you that flew on here keeping it going.  And as far as an 'outsider', I'm in Silsbee way more than you think...
 20. I want to hear Stevenash's take on this game...
 21.
i agree with coach T . thats why in  this society we have teenagers do what they do no discipline.coach T im behind you 100% keep up the good work you have a very good program in silsbee.
You obviously didn't read the prior 6 pages... These kids do EVERYTHING right.  But you're talking about they need discipline...

 23.
I will say this and AAW will agree........Dayton is NOT very good!!!  HJ could have easily won by the 25-30 but played deep into the bench for most of the 4th!!!
8) 8)  Congrads on the win.  I've just been in an argumentive mood lately...  ;D ;D
 24.
Soulja..........HJ led by 22 and put the reserves in.  Did you listen to the broadcast??? HJ also was below .500 from the FT line and below .400 from the field against a decent at best Dayton team!!!
Nope, didn't listen to the broadcast.  Can't listen on this particular computer.  I was just proving a point... to that one fan...
