2.
Do you think Central will go Power I the rest of the season or go back to the spread next game?
Well, we are a multiple set team.  The power I was just a wrinkle that was worked out in the bye week.  We run Shot gun multiple sets, I formation multiple sets, Single back, and now Power I.
 3. Great game, Lions. Just got a rundown of the game from  a friend.  Looks like yall found a replacement for Jackson and Keke Johnson.  You've gotten this Jag fan's attention...
 4. Yes, it is sad, isn't it?  Nederland have problems after another, after another.  Indians are losing these games by 1 sores, guys.  They'll be fine...PN-G by 17...
 5. Good win for the Jags.  Just like Absent! said, we do need to get better tobe considered a Jag team of old. There were good things as far as improvements from the bye week.. First, we implemented the Power I formation that gave #15 a lot of blocking.  There was a nice playaction pass that resulted in a 50 yard TD strike.  This will be a valuable weapon deep in district. Second, special teams.  So far in this season, teams would avoid kicking it to our speed by Pooch kicking it to kids that's not used to making catches and fumble the ball. Now we have our regular returners deep and Heard as a returner in the second wave. So now, Heard will be waiting on those Pooch kicks and he never muffs anything. Basically, pick your poison... Third on defense.  Looks like we pursuit to the ball a little better.  Tackling is better, but not to where I would like to see it.  We did good last night though due to the play of our all district Lineman #95 Alfred. And finally, somebody settled our young QB down and he was throwing passses on the money.  Now if our receivers would catch them, well, that's another story.  All and all, we have gotten better compared from the first couple of games.  I expect another notch of improvement next week. PS...  I would like to thank Ozen for putting the tribute to #12 Garrett.  Showed his highlight on the big screen then our players took off their helmets and held them up in the air.  Then some kids went to midfield and let loose 12 silver and blue balloons.  Such a touching sight that I will always remember th rest of my life.  R.I.P.  #12

 9. Broncos had a touch non-district.  They'll run through district as usual, though...
 10. Bears couldn't outscore 'em this time.  49-42 L-Train The message boards are on fire.  The Barber's Ant Mound bog the Broncos down.  Steal the win Ganders 'fly away' with their first win of the season First Cat fight @ Butch Stadium.  Scratched up and bleeding, Jaguar climb out victorious.  Animal control called in to remove dead Panther Many fans in Port Neches heard saying, 'dang, looks like deja vu'! Ever heard of a pirate ship getting 'beached'?

 17.
BMTSoulja1, yes, I have to go with PNG, even though they have a losing record.  Look at the teams that they played, and both of those games were very close.  Since District play starts this week, I think that everyone is a contender, probably with the exception of Vidor, and Nederland's chances have dropped dramatically. Livingston - I don't know anything about them.  I will pick them as the dark horse to make the playoffs. Vidor - just don't think that they have the athletes this year to compete for the title or even a playoff spot. Nederland - internal turmoil and QB issues.  Big question marks. LCM and Lumberton - both have looked pretty good, and warrant consideration as a legitimate title contender, and definitely contenders for a playoff spot. Ozen and Central - it's hard to gauge either team with their losses to WB and PAM, and their wins against weaker Houston teams.  Both have the athletes to compete for the title, and both have the athletes to make the playoffs. PNG - reigning champs.  Despite their two close losses, they are a well coached team, and have the athletes to git'r done. In my opinion, PNG is the favorite to win District 20-4A.  I could be proven wrong.
Ball high is not a Houston team.  They are from Galveston.  They Made the playoffs last year and were picked to make the playoffs again as one of the biggest 4a chool in the state after dropping down fom 5a last year...
 18.
I am not saying that they can't win district.  It's not impossible, it's just highly improbable. At this point, and looking at all of the teams in their district, just making the playoffs is going to be tough. I know that it's the fans talking, but Ozen should, and probably are, focused solely on Central right now. I know that many, including myself, try to determine how a team will do based upon a common opponent, but head to head is different.  Ozen has to take them 1 game at a time, beginning with Central this Friday. As I said earlier, it's not impossible, but I still have to go with PNG as the favorite to win District 20-4A, until someone else shows different.  They are the current champs, and they have a pretty good squad that has returned.
PN-G even though they have a losing record?

 21. Wow!  One ridiculous post after another here!  :D :D
 22. We went a little stagnant on the headlines since 20-4a was off last week, but lets pick it up this week!
 23. Offense running game - Central Passing game - Ozen QB - Ozen Offensive line - Central Defense Run defense - Ozen (by a slight edge) Pass defense - Ozen Sideline to sideline - Ozen Run stopers up the middle - Central Intimidation factor - Central If we were factoring this in from what we seen before the bye week, Ozen on paper is the favorate.  But 2 weeks of preparation by both teams could make this 'ol thing @ the Butch VERY interesting... 8) 8)
 24.
I also wish that they would play this game later in the season and not the District opener.  It's such an emotional rivalry that the loser could be back on their heels and not recover by the next game.  However, we can't change that this year. Overall, based upon games played against a common opponent (West Brook & PA Memorial), Ozen has looked much better than Central, especially from an offensive perspective.  Ozen has also shown quick strike capability. Keys to a Central win:

Run offense out of the I formation and use screens and play action to keep Ozen off balance. Contain Ozen QB Green.  Keep him in the pocket. Don't self destruct as they did against West Brook and PA Memorial

Keys to an Ozen win:

Spread the field and get the ball into the hands of Nelson (Receiver screen, reverse, and deep post) Stop the Central running game.

Offensive edge - Ozen Defensive edge - Even Special Teams - Ozen Prediction: Ozen by 12
Great analysis.  Really.  I just hope that our weak points are improved upon during district. That way, we can play Jag football and get this W.
