Channelview will win yall's district!  Baytown Sterling  second, LaPorte third and NS barely edging in at the 4th spot! 

I have to admit.  I have mixed emotions here.  Kind of jealous that Brook and Ozen get to break the stadium in right...  I want to see the game, but will be checking my Jags out, so I'm torn.  Mad because  BISD released their non district schedule to the 'Suprise' before me, knowing I have been calling and getting the run around.  :D :D

Also, there was some suspicius calls going on.  Both sides felt the rath of these guys.  Odd Technical foul calls.  Phantom charging calls.  Asking coaches to tell the visitor crowd to shut up.  Our smaller players try to intimidate Nederland's much bigger front line by a little jawing.  An occasional shoulder bump.  Nederland's bigs jaw back.  Sometimes pushing them to the side while going to the free throw line.  These guys come running in like there is a fight going to break up.  Things like calling for a team/ref meeting after every foul.  These guys were a little much.  Not ranting on the loss as Nederland fans can attest for this.

I love the way Nederland came out of halftime with a plan. 1. Don't give K. Smith ANY open looks.  Nederland's coach was stressing this after every time out.  It worked 2. Run on every fast break.  Result, several fast break points which paid dividends to get them back in this game.This worked. 3. Don't give up on feeding the big men.  This pushed them over the top in the 4th.  This worked.  Nederland's only downfall was their free throws, which they rectified in the 4th, when it counts Central's undoing 1. No penetration.  You cannot just stand around and just pass the ball.  Made it too easy for Nederland to defend. 2. Never found a way to get K. smith an open look in the second half.  You always need a backup plan in case your primary one failed, like tonight. 3. The the press and zone defenses was NOT working except in the first half.  Go away from it.  You get help on the bigs from weakside help! 4. (for whatever its worth)  We will lose (I mean get blown out) to Ozen if we don't make our shots down the stretch.  I'm off my soap box for now.  ;)

Jags lost with tons of oportunities... 46 - Nederland 41 - Central Final Missed shots down the stretch hurt big time. 

44-41 with 1:27 left.  Nederland is up.  Time out.  Jag ball...

34-32 Nederland at the end of 3! Um....  Time to call off the press...  Its allowing this mess!

27-20 Central at the half... Key player in foul trouble, but we keep battling on.

12-5 Central at the end of the first period.  Smith from Nederland with a dunk.... Smith from Central with a dunk!  ;D

The key to this one is how our bigs play on offense and defense to make Forney work for everything.  I think our guard play is superior to Nederland's and should be exploited at every opportunity.  Guards have to keep Nederland's other Big from getting the ball close to the basket.  That's an athletic kid!

I grew up in Beaumont around my older relatives that made sure they informed us kids about Vidor and what happened in the past.  All of the bad, the hate.  Growing up as a man, I had the opportinity to meet all kinds of people including Vidorians.  Most of them are my age.  Figured they were good people although some of them were not as in all towns and communities.  Going to All Central Football games and going to Vidor, I have met Vidor football fans, 2 of them I have personally met and sat with durring games.  Point is that all the stuff that my older relatives were saying about Vidor and their people appears to not be going on.  Like everyone is agreeing with on this thread there is more good than bad in Vidor. Should have given them a chance, Crosby.  Those 2 board members need to open their hearts and let go of that hate.
