  1. Oops. One key off and thanks to bobcatfan for fixing that one. Hopefully, we'll sneak in that #1 spot after Friday. ;D ;D
  2. Never said it was you. Why do you quickly get defensive? ;D :D
  3. A high scoring game? You really think we will give up 40 something points to Vidor? You trippin, man! OK vidor will win by 40 then and central wont give them vidor will take them cause they deserve it : :
  4. They're gonna have to take it from DA' BROOK....I'm just saying.... 8) I don't know about all that... Well you're gonna know....real soon I just hope that this mauling that is about to occur do not take away the kids confidence to do well in district...

  6. Soulja, What channel was this interview on ? Ch. 6
  7. i've just seen the 6:00 sports part of the news and they interviewed Coach Matthews. He was basically telling them the same thing he told our fans when he scouted Central at the Central/Galveston Ball game. This time, he mentioned our players by name. This may have been the first time I've heard this from an opposing coach. He named all of our RB's by name and stated that they are fast. He stated that we have strong, fast, and physical players on defense. I just want to let him know (that's if he ever reads these boards) and Vidor fans that it is appreciated. He's a classy dude.
  8. Where as the Jags have faced 3 athletic 5a teams. My point being that there is nothing that Vidor can dish out that we having seen 10 fold already. Also, we have not played an overall complete game yet. If we play all 4 quarters like we know we can, we will be 1-0 in district after this week... I hear what you are saying, Soulja. But one thing is missing here. Central has not played a team like Vidor. Like you said, they have faced athletic teams but Central has not faced a team with the makeup of Vidor. That's a different animal all to it's self. It gave that great defense of Central's fits last year, don't see why it wouldn't do the same this year. It's all about matchups. Doesn't matter who you have played before this Friday night if those teams don't resemble who you are facing in the coming game. Central's defense did not start Gelling untill later in the district. We became shut down in the Ozen game and went on to shut out Pn-G and North Forest. When we faced Vidor, we were still trying to establish our defense since they were the first game in district. This team's defense seems to be coming together a lot earlier than last year. Not a good thing for Vidor...
  9. Yes, I remember that year. WO-S fans were crying about losing to Bay City that year like they are now...

  11. Just a question. Have Vidor played an athletic team in their first 3 games. (no, I'm not talking about a scrimmage)
  12. The sophomore? Yes... The Junior this year! Yes Wrong. He was a Freshman last year. He's a Sophmore this year...
  13. A high scoring game? You really think we will give up 40 something points to Vidor? You trippin, man!
  14. The only way this Year's team can prove if they are better than last year's bunch is if they go farther in the playoffs or win a district championship. We'll never know how they fair head to head. For what it's worth, This year's Jags definatly hit harder than last year's bunch. Which will probably produce more turnovers or more intimidation...
  15. Our 34 unanswered points actually started in the second quarter, so I don't think it was much of halftime ajustments. I guess we just turned it on when we realized that we shouldn't be letting a team like this think they can actually win. You know, Kinda how North Shore was losing to LaMarque 20-6 then they roared on to score like 40 something unaswered points...
  16. Peevey, Pittman, and Tate vs. O'Neal, Daw, and Heard. Should be interesting. One group have played against cupcake defenses, and the other group have played against fast athletic defenses. I think you know who will win this battle.
  17. :-\ Here we go... This year's Central team possibly could be better than last year's team in that this year's offense is definatley better. Defense appears to be on that same level. I just want you to know that last year's Vidor team started off 3-0 also and had a good RB in Reynolds. I would see this Vidor's team on the same level as last years team. Not taking nothing away from this years team, as they were pretty good. I see us wining this one. It will be a major Statement game for both squads. Central to prove the folks that didn't even pick us to make the playoffs. Vidor to prove that the Pirates have turned the corner and that they are ready to step to the next level and be serious contenders in this district...
  18. I completely agree. And what bigger game for a young player to do this in a game with the 2 time defending state champs?
  19. Come on, small schoolers. Come out and check out some Big School ball this weekend!
  20. I feel inclined to agree! ;D ;D
