  1. Well, since you asked, way more than what Central has done in 4A. In the 5 years that Silsbee has been in 3A, they have reached the regional tourney 4 out of those 5 years. Three times to the regional finals and a trip to Austin. Other than this year when they were upset by Jasper in the regional semis, those first 4 years the regional winner had to go through Silsbee. The last 2 years, not counting this year, they were knocked out by the eventual state champion, '07 to HJ in regional finals, '08 to Kennedale in state semifinals. So, it hasn't just been this season that the Tigers have had success here of late. Yes, 4A playoffs are tough, but give us another 600 kids to choose from on top of the 800 we have now, and I am quite sure we can do just as well or even better than what Central has done lately. I doubt it, Mike.
  2. I do admit that Silsbee have had a great season THIS season. But besides that, since Silsbee have moved down to 3a from 4a, what have they done? Better Facilities? So Facilities make the better job? I admit. Silsbee does have a nice Gym as I have been in there when Silsbee used to battle in 4a. Heck, PN-G have a nice gym too. So I guess that is a better job? What I am saying, IMO, Central have on average year in and year out, better athletes and face tougher playoff competition than Silsbee. You can excel on a 3a team. That good and dandy, but if you can come to Central and excel and make a deep playoff run with those great houston teams, that saying something and will probably set you up with a great 5a gig.
  3. :o What does that mean?! It means what I typed..............Silsbee is likely a better job, more athletes, more tradition and more recent success!!!!! Why would he leave Silsbee for Central...........now Ozen on the other hand??? : : : : .... Please tell me who is the judge of 'the better job'. and please tell me since when did Silsbee had better athletes and tradition than Central. : :
  4. To put this in prospective, Jamaal Charles ran a 4.4 in a 40 while at Memorial. I seriously doubt that LC-M have a player with this kind of speed...
  5. Mr. Hale played really good during the season. I'm glad to see that his hard work wasn't gone unnoticed.
  6. Coach Green came pretty darn close to winning state at Central. I really believe that by now, everyone knows what Central's downfall is. It's not talented players...
  7. :o What does that mean?! it means he'd be going from a team that is capable of winning state in any given year to a team that struggles to get out of the first round of the playoffs. it's no knock on central, just pointing out that he'd be moving from a guaranteed great team to a team where he'd probably have to work harder for lesser results. (not to mention the fact that silsbee is already built for another deep playoff run next year) We have good talented 'athletic' kids almost every year. I think a coach like Williams would love to have the steady flow of quality talent that Central produces. No knock on 3a, but 4a playoff basketball is a totaly different animal than 3a playoff basketball. You won't see the Yates', the Jones', or Wheatley's in 3a. I know Williams is a good coach. Surely, he wouldn't be trying to avoid the competition...I hope not.
  8. :o What does that mean?!
  9. You cannot be the best team in the NBA with your big man (7' tall) shooting fall away jumpers on guys shorter than him and scared of playing in the paint. Pathetic! I do, however, respect Josh Howard's game though.
  10. Jasper , H-J and Chavez messed my picks up! ;D
  11. Congrads, Bulldawgs! I didn't believe you could pull it out against a great Tiger team, but you did! Tigers will no doubt be back in the position next year.
  12. Makes me happy when you pull against HJ Soulja!!!!! Hey, man. I was going on a gut feeling! You know I have nothing against your Hawks! :D :D
  13. Strake Jesuit (-8 1/2) vs. FB Elkins FB Hightower (-5 1/2) vs. Houston Chavez Houston Jones (-7 1/2) vs. Huntsville Houston Yates (-27 1/2) vs. Livingston Hardin-Jefferson (-3 1/2) vs. Lufkin Hudson Silsbee (-8 1/2) vs. Jasper Newton vs. Gladewater Sabine (-2 1/2) New Waverly (-9 1/2) vs. Franklin
  14. I guess I can say that 'Mikki likes it'! :D
  15. I noticed that, too. Any suggestion(s)? 8) I think Keith O'Neal and Nijel Daw from Central both will have nice years. They played a big role all last year and played huge in our deep playoff run! I picked Jackson from Livingston on this list...
  16. Yates will be way too much for Livingston to handle. IMO.. Yates by 30. Yates are a runaway train to the State Tourney.
  17. No reason to hang your heads, Titans! You had an exceptional seoson!
  18. My oh my! These Lions have NO go away in them! They want to keep playing! Congrads, guys!
  19. Great season, Panthers!
  20. She's a beast!!!! :o :o
