I hate to see kids get cheated by poor coaching, but we need to keep this all in perspective too.  I'm taking my own advice here as well ...I've been a bit crazy in this forum. I gotta believe PNG will be back strong.  Your district was very strong this year so I'm sure that added to the frustration. Have a great Thanksgiving.
There was no poor coaching...Coach Faircloths first season with us in 2009 brought us an Undefeated season in district, went 2 rounds deep in Playoffs. His second year we went 3 rounds deep and was taken down by Manvel. 3rd year Dayton's kicker took us out the first round. We have had 3 good seasons with Faircloth...and many more to come.
I so love it when someone says it can't be bad coaching because the coach had some great years in the past.  My soph year we won 3 games.  Got a first time head coach my junior year.  Went 2 rounds into the playoffs.  Senior year semifinals.  Following year, another semifinal appearance.  3 great years for a first time head coach, must be great right.  Wrong, we arrived too two loaded classess.  The next year we won 2 games, and after 5 more years of losing we was gone.  Coaching is about getting the best you can with the kids you got.
He only has a 4 year history with us...and three of those are good. I don't think after one bad year we should label him a bad coach and send out the lynch mob. He was the OC at Odessa P and had a good record there.
 10. Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone has a blessed day!
 11. I feel he has built a Program...his system is being used in the middle schools also. When the younger groups come up they are well versed in his offense.

Why was this team basically non-competitive and so unprepared each time they took the field?  It was abundantly clear in the spring that this team had personnel issues with the quarterback as well as with the running game.  Throughout spring practice, the spring game, fall workouts, and the Texas City scrimmage, there were serious issues concerning the ability of our personnel to internalize this offensive and execute the system in place.  The performances the past 10 games, turnovers, yardage gained, penalties, points scored etc. bears this out.   With all these problems, why was there not an attempt made by the head football coach / offensive coordinator to change the system to maximize the personnel on the team giving these young men the best chance to compete?  Obviously I cannot answer this question, but it is clear that there was enough talent to be competitive in the majority of the games played this past football season.  It was a disservice to these young men to be placed in a system that did not maximize the talents of each and every player.   I lost count of how many times on 1st down our offensive would gain 4,5,6 yards on the ground, followed by 2 incomplete passes, interceptions, penalties, dropped passes etc.  How about ball control (a power running game with the right personnel) limiting the number of possessions the opposition has, shortening the game, playing for field position, and keeping your defense off the field?  Would this not have made this team more competitive?   I attended numerous practices this past football season.  I never witnessed the head football coach involved in the defensive practices.  Is not the head football coach responsible for all aspects of the game, offense, defense and special teams?  In a recent interview, Jimmy Johnson stated that a head football coach, who is both the offensive coordinator and head coach, often, spends too much time focused on his role as the play caller and not enough time managing all other parts of his team.  I have a hard time laying the blame for this past season at the doorstep of the assistant coaches when the head football coach has removed himself from coaching all other aspects of the team.  Whether there is success or failure, it all starts and ends with the head football coach.   I’m sure that in the near future Brandon Faircloth will have the right personnel that will allow him to score many points, accumulate a great deal of passing yardage, and pad all offensive statistics which will aide him in future years when seeking other coaching opportunities.  Unfortunately that will not repair what I have just witnessed:  a poorly prepared football team, a non-competitive football team, a team unable to implement his offensive scheme. Bottom line, there has been a complete breakdown in all phases of this football team.   Finally, it is my opinion that there were 20-25 players who with the right system, the right preparation, and the right use of talent could have been competitive this past football season. Unfortunately this season is in the books for the players, coaches, parents and this community.   I sincerely hope that in the future the young men who sacrifice to play football at PN-G will be put in situations that will give them the opportunity to maximize their talents in order to allow them the best opportunity to succeed on Friday nights.
Thank you for your comments Mr. Burnett.
LOL..Thats what I was thinking. We had a down season and that is that. Future looks good for PN-G with Faircloth as Chief.
 14. Who ever gets this young man is getting a weapon...Good Luck in the future! P.S. that 5 field goals in 1 game in 2011....PN-G?

That brings me to another point, I'm sorta perplexed by how the opening match ups were drawn.  Shouldn't the best teams (undefeated/district champ) get the easier opponents?  SC sure looks like we got a 1, 2 punch out the gate.  I think Nederland, BH, and Crosby should write SC a thank you letter for taking the tougher opponents in 4A D1 thus far.
That's the way the D1 / D2 brackets turned out this year. Enrollment dictated that scenario.
Sc and Dayton went D1, are you saying they determine to matchups according to enrollment? I do know D1 is for the bigger schools, but I didn't know they it was a path they take due to enrollment
Big school D1 and Small school D2. IMO the #1 from a district should play the #1 from the other district and #2 with #2 and so on. Seems more fair. But I guess in cases with a school like Manvel where the difference in attendance was more noticeable, then I can see where its fair to go big school and small school....not that it made any difference...they blew thru everyone anyway in 4A.

Lol
Nederland can talk the talk, but can they walk the walk. If it comes down to a battle with Summer Creek, The S. C. Bulldogs will take the Nederland Bulldogs to school. These guys are big. I will have more respect for Nederland if they can get by this machine of a team.
We can walk the walk. SC might be big, but Nederland is just as big on defense. Y'all would have all you want and then some. Our d-line will take your o-line to school.
Nederland isn't trying to earn respect...Undefeated District Champs 2 yrs in a row.

The battle of "No Respect" teams. Neither got much love throughout the season from pollsters. GT played in the shadows of Leander, Cedar Park and even LT all year. I got GT in this one. I think they played the tougher schedule.
i fail to agree that this is summer creeks first "test" .. coming into 19-4a we were considered to be the underdogs that we was going to be testing with our schedule and we passed all 10 of the test including BH and dayton that they said we weren't ready for but we won 45-7 and vidor another test which it was but we won with a pretty decent margin .. now gtown,  not saying this wont be a cakewalk or easy task but ion think its nothing we cant handle
If you consider BH, Dayton and Vidor a test then you are new to the game! Dayton was in dissaray and BH and Vidor are one dimmensional offenses. Granted you scored alot against a pretty good defense in Vidor, but this will be the first legit dual threat offense and tuff defense you have faced.
thats a test for any new team like us .. casue its always a team that someone says is a test then once we win , the NEXT team is a test , THEN win then next is a test .. i just wonder when people will just give credit where its due .. but we'll see how it all plays out .. like i said it should be a good game
Wow. Talk about little man syndrome. Everyone here has given you credit. But we don't expect up to walk all over anyone y'all face. Saying a team is a test is not a lack of respect. Good grief.
I absolutely agree with summercreek4, every time we play someone and win, oh SC haven't been tested yet....everybody say we were in a weak district last year, and we were picked to finish 5th, guess what? We won District....we enter a new district and we were picked to finish 2nd, and were told we can't beat BH, Crosby or Dayton...guess what? We won District....they say Vidor would beat us, guess what...Blowout...this game will be a good game against Georgetown, and the best team that day, will win. As long as our SC boys fight a good fight, we will still be proud.....so really, some people don't give credit when credit is due ::)
Bring home a State title.
Hey, at least we are position to do so :)
This is true...but we already have 3...PN-G will be back up and running...you can be sure of that.

Where SC would have trouble is on defense. I've seen some mammoth O-lineman on those teams. That aside, SC matches up well. Northshore needs to win some 7-on-7 vs SC in the offseason before trying to beat us in d regular season. Katy owns Northshore anyway. Katy has a smooth striding running back, but that dude is SLOW. I don't see SC going 5A. If anything, Atascocita might drop down to 4A.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!    Let me know when yall are ready to play some real football.  The fact that you think you could even line up against Katy and not get beat to the tune of 20-30pts just goes to show you how truly delusional you are. We are Texas High School Football We have 70-80+ kids on our Varsity roster and over 320+ kids in our football program.  To your 40-50 kids on varsity?  180-200 kids in the program?  You aren't even playing the same game.    We have a history of destroying Humble ISD teams.    I have seen WAY better Humble ISD teams lose to a lot less then what we currently have this year. the puppies are cute, but not anywhere near talented enough to beat The Tigers.
BA BAM!
y'all are crazy. Who said we can hang with Katy? Katy has way more kids than us, and they are a powerhouse 5a team, a lot of teams can't hang with Katy, now go fly a Kite and worry about SouthLake Carroll or somebody ;)
Your fellow poster DEMDAWGS writing checks SC cant cash.
