9. Not Pro yet but I spoke to Randall's father today at work  Starting D Line (nose) for UT from Bmt Kelly.  He is excited about his senior year and hoping for a good look at next level.
 10. They according to the broadcasters they interviewed him and Coach said that when it came up the holder was down he got word from upstairs that they saw something they liked on the previous kicks and felt that the play called was better than the risk of a back up holder that had minimal snaps.  Ironically the QB fumbled the snap, who would have known????
 11.

Why go for 2 early in a close game? Smh
Maybe, you go for 2 if it's on the road and you score inside the last 2 minutes and you're trying to pull off the upset (cuz you have all of the momentum), but not with that much time left.  Bad call IMO.
even with no holder?
 12.
Thanks trojanfan;helped me make up my mind not to go watch this blowout.Where to go tonight now? 8)
You need to go watch that Jasper Livingston game so you can see why we have them Lions at #2!  ;D
 13. but you are correct...some things never change!  Last week they defeated a Sequin team 35-21 that they lost to last year 40-7.  They seemed to be happy with the Alvarez, Quick, Vanya combo they have acquired.
 14.
The rule says 19 on or before Sept 1. not 20!
Im aware of that,  that was not my point!
 15. well if you would have listened to the game as I did you would have also heard that they had no choice.  The holder was hurt a few plays earlier with a stinger or some type of shoulder injury and was being walked off the field.  Coach said at that point he felt the odds were better for a two point try than to try to have someone who has never held a snap attempt it.
 16. just be thankful he didnt turn 20 three days ago instead of in 2 weeks!!  Wouldnt that be a mess!
 17.
That kinda explains the "Eat more Beaver" signs in Bleakwood. My mistake. I've already gotten so excited I was probably out of my mind. I was thinking that was a JV game in Kville, but have learned on here it was not JV players. I'm sure the kids parents on the Kirbyville team appreciate that bit of info! ;) Also that Kirbyvlle didn't teach fundamentals except to a chosen few is interesting news. If I didn't know better I would say that was the sound of rats jumping from a sinking ship. 8) So rykerx are you coming to Newton for the game?
dont know yet, depends on what time I get out of work.  Im going to do everything i can to get there trust it!!
 18.
rykerx I don't think you will have trouble finding a seat on the visitors side from what I hear. You are going to attend the game aren't you? Tonight I thought it was a woods fire but then realized it was the smell of fur burning I could smell at Bleakwood. Went on to Kirbyville anyways and it turned into an all out HazMat situation at Wildcat stadium. PNG and Newton, purple pride forever!! And that wasn't the eighth grade on the field so I don't think "all" their JV players are on varsity. I'm also old enough that I can get excited as I want to, thank you very much.
It might have been fur you was smelling. I heard they were having a beaver shaving contest in Bleakwood as a fundraiser to support the "we got our butt kicked by a wounded cat" fund your Eagles are going to need Saturday morning.
 19.
Yea, Doc Young used to have a special pair of double thick leather gloves to hold any kind of cat. I hope the talon marks will heal quickly!! It's getting all that fur out of the field surface that's the problem!
whatever!!  When the Kats get done with them overrated birds they are going to donate the feathers to PNG and their indian spirit is going to be supporting a new Purple Eagle Head dress next week!
 20. your Eagles better bring it!  They better not going into thinking it won already!  Dont trust a injured Kat!!
 21. and just for the record yes I did say upset Newton!  Not leave Newton upset!
 22.

You throw Obama or Palin into this thread and it might break a record.
Got a long ways to go to reach any thread record. ;) ::) But we are working on it. Thanks for the help. ;D
yep need 735 just to break into the top ten!
 23.
And I also know where Call is if I need to pick her up. ;)
ok shes is living with my brother right now so ill let you know
 24.
I've read the arguments from all sides. I've dealt with hundreds of kids over lots of years. I don't remember any not knowing how old they were but I suppose this is in the realm of possibility. I will say that I have seen birth records altered by players or parents and possibly program officials. I'm certainly not saying any of these things happened in this case or in this area. The thing that has always perplexed me is being dishonest to achieve an edge over the competition, whether it is an opponent or your own teammates, and winning as a result of that action, is something that couldn't be so satisfying as to justify that action. Pride in accomplishment comes from within and knowing you have excelled in your endeavors. All successful sports programs have their fans and detractors. Nothing is so satisfying as winning the right way. Knowledge, diligence, teamwork and labor are what winning is all about. I suggest putting this incident behind and if intentional wrongdoing was involved, then I feel ashamed for those or the one responsible. Best of luck to all our athletes in the coming season and pray we don't have the heartache of last year with WO-S #12. When the dust has cleared and champions declared never question whether you earned it. If you didn't then it wasn't worth the effort.
excellant post!  this only applies to good honest people though.  Unfortuantly people that are that dishonest dont feel guilt or the need to answer to their actions.
 25.
My wife's not looking over my shoulder........can I get her number? 8) Even if she is from Kirbyville. I honestly don't know what to expect from WT and the Eagles tomorrow night. I think they are going to come out and do well. But, new coach, new defensive system, pressure to do well from all the fans and kinfolks because that is what the tradition is built on, but these are high school kids. My kids are grown and I still don't know what their going to do!! ;D
shhh  shes a Call Girl!
