PN-G At Barbers Hill Week 0 Predictions?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
After Friday the Eagles will have an ideal of how Custer felt at Bighorn. Look for an overflow Indian crowd and the never ending sound of Cherokee to boost the Indians past the Eagles. Likely to be a record attendance game for Barbers Hill football stadium. The Indians running game will not be stopped and a stingy Indian defense stimmies the Eagles offense. It will be a happy commute home back down I-10 for the Indian fans. Toups Graphics Fearless Prediction PN-G 38 Barbers Hill 7 -
The Dog Pound in Nederland will be rocking Friday night. The Bulldogs will surge to a 14 point first half lead and then in the second half the WO-S Mustangs speed will be too much. Look for WO-S to pull ahead in the third quarter and expand their lead in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs start the season at 1 and 0 with a big second half. Dayton vs Bay City....your thoughts
PURPLE 4EVER replied to bronco4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dayton brings back a host of returning players of a semi finalist team. The Broncos are out on a mission to make this season last one more week. Look for more depth in the Broncos this year with just as much speed. Friday night Bay City will offer the Broncos stiff competition in the first quarter then watch the Bronco offense explode for over half a thousand yards. The Broncos end up winning by four touchdowns to start the season 1 and 0. Toups Graphics Fearless Prediction Dayton 34 Bay City 7 -
SETX SS #3 Kelly at Vidor Predictions
PURPLE 4EVER replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Kelly travels to Orange county to take on the Pirates. Look for the Pirate defense to stall out the Kelly offense, meanwhile the 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense resurges enough for Vidor to take the lead and hold on to it. A short third quarter field goal is the difference in the game. Vidor wins and begins their season with the Black Pearl sailing at full mast. Toups Graphics Fearless Prediction Vidor 10 Kelly 7 -
The way to beat the Raiders is through the air.... Secondary lost a lot from last year. Just my observations from last week. Regardless... Good luck to the Raiders.

It's that time again! I hope my "educated" senses are good enough to duplicate my 76% "guessing" rate from last year. Enjoy my views of the game. Remember (win or loss) THIS ALL ABOUT THE YOUNG MEN PLAYING THEIR BEST EVERY PLAY! Good luck to all the players and coaches this week! Play your best, and stay injury free! THIS WEEKS TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTIONS Kelly at Vidor Kelly travels to Orange county to take on the Pirates. Look for the Pirate defense to stall out the Kelly offense, meanwhile the 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense resurges enough for Vidor to take the lead and hold on to it. Look for WO-S to pull ahead in the third quarter and expand their lead in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs start the season at 1 and 0 with a big second half. Toups Graphics Fearless Prediction WO-S 35 Nederland 21 Lumberton vs Hamshire Fannet The Raiders come in sky high into this game after the greatest season in school history. Unfortunately for the Raiders they lost too much talent. Look for Hamshire Fannet to expose the slower Lumberton secondary with a passing offensive barrage. Lumberton stays in the game with their running game, but will not be able to stop the Hamshire Fannet offense. Hamshire Fannet wins their home openner by 11. Toups Graphics Fearless Prediction Hamshire Fannet 28 Lumberton 17 Central at Port Arthur Memorial Central is still trying to figure out what happened last year. Picked by many to win or get second in district, the Jaguars found themselves spectating at the playoffs. Both teams open the season with high hopes of making the playoffs. This game will be a close one in Port Arthur. A late fourth quarter score will put the Jaguars on top to stay in a football game that will feature many lead changes. The Jaguars growl returns while the Titans stumble across the finish line. Toups Graphics Fearless Prediction Central 31 Port Arthur 28 Ozen vs Westbrook West Brook begins the season with plans on playing in the playoffs. Ozen has talent, but the key is to get the winning ways started. The Bruins will be too much for the Panthers. West Brook rolls to an impressive and easy victory with the 2nd string playing most of the fourth quarter. Toups Graphics Fearless Prediction West Brook 42 Ozen 7 PN-G vs Barbers Hill After Friday the Eagles will have an ideal of how Custer felt at Bighorn. Who has the best Freshman and JV teams in the area?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to cmsfan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Do not underestimate Barbers Hill's freshmen. Their 8th grade group and 9th grade group this year really impressed me last year when they played Dayton. Looks like Coach Price will have some size and speed to work with in about two or three years. These two groups are WAY better than the upper class men they now have. -
You put a lot of thought into that post didn't you? yeah i sure did. and from my knowledge i believe Dayton hasn't beaten Bay City yet since Stewart's been there. and if yall still are still prasing Dayton as gods yall might start the season off 0-2, because Dayton plays Friendswood in week 1. and never have beaten them also. So yeah we will see If Dayton wanted a for sure win before District he would have used the Lumberton scheduling strategy. While Dayton plays a team that will prepare them for the playoffs, who is Lumberton playing????

Hurricane Gustav Makes Landfall
PURPLE 4EVER replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
And the idiots reelected Nagin! Wonder if he is going to order another "hurricane party" in the super dome. I got a bad feeling for the east coast of Louisiana. I hope the levies in New Orleans are up to snuff, or we could be looking at something worse than Katrina for New Orleans. -
This thread needs to be TERMINATED! This was a SCRIMMAGE! Both teams need to be focused on the games ahead! Good luck to Lumberton... Hopefully, and I do mean hopefully... In the first round of the playoffs we can make an appointment. Dayton will be there, how about the Raiders? Good luck this week, to BOTH teams!

I really enjoy the crew that does golf on CBS. They make it enjoyable. What a great last tournament for them to broadcast. It is amazing how much Vijay can rotate his torso, especially at his age. Simply amazing. The two +225 yard fairway woods into the par 5 where amazing. He had about a 5 yard radius to land the ball in and he nailed it both times.

PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Coop... Will the high pressure over the South East weaken over the next few days?? That might hold the key to where Gustav tracks. I got a feeling this could be a CAT 5 when it makes landfall. -

I got a bad feeling for the New Orleans area... Wonder if Nagin handles things different this time? Wherever this thing ends up, God Bless the area... Talk about total devastation... -

In the meantime, who do you all think has the best fight song in the area? Try the state... Nothing can compare to Cherokee.

A lot of talent, but little results... No way do they run the table in 19-4A. They do stand a good chance of making the playoffs. -
PN-G At Barbers Hill Week 0 Predictions?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Stadium seats 5,500... Home stands hold around 4,500, maybe a little more. That means visitor stands hold less than 1,000 PN-G brings at least 3,000, plus the band and drill team. There will be more PN-G fans standing than seating. Could be a record crowd at Barbers Hill for their stadium. Attention Barbers Hill... When PN-G played Dayton last year, there were PN-G fans in the stands before 3 PM. Barbers Hill better be ready for a huge crowd Friday. -

PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
And they mean absolutely zero! What matters is that you are playing football after Thanksgiving. -
At the end of the year Lumberton could have won district OUTRIGHT, but lost to PN-G. The very same team that Lumberton lost to Dayton beat 40 - 7 the following week to force a three way tie, which if broken using the point system the resulting order would have been 1. Dayton 2. Lumberton 3. PN-G So..... Who won when the district title was on the line, Dayton did.
-
One thing I have always wondered about the Nederland field... It has a good crown in the middle, then chilli dips before the sidelines, so the water can't really drain from the middle of the field off past the sidelines. It stops before the sidelines, and in that area the field is usually very spongy after a rain. Was surprised when Dayton played there last year, that it was in the same shape. Sounds like it really got tore up in the scrimmage, they may be able to get the middle of the field back in good shape, but in front of both sidelines will be the worst spots if we get any rain this week. Regardless of the field, the game will be played, hopefully no one gets hurt.
-
Do you have a time machine that took you back to Woodstock to make that post??? See if you can answer this question... What is the number one positive reason for Lumberton not making the playoffs this year? They won't have the possibility of playing the Broncos in a REAL game. Dayton would easily put up 70 points in three quarters against any defense with the speed and size similar to Lumberton. Good luck to Lumberton this year, but this squad sure did lose a whole bunch of talent.

That was a good moment, but not near as high on my list as beating the Bulldogs by 63 points.
