  1. Tied at half. Rockets bench playing strong. This game should be close with 2 minutes left to go.
  2. 40 to 40 at half. Rockets bench has played good enough to keep them in the game.
  3. Rockets bench playing HUGE in 2nd quarter!
  4. What is your gaurantee? This game should be close.
  5. If Alston can come back with another HUGE game the Rockets have a really good shot. Look for the Celtics to shut down T Mac. The Rockets will need two other players to get 15+ points.
  6. This is starting to sound like Lumberton's season... If they beat this team they are for real, and then next week, if they beat this team they are for real. The NBA season has 82 games. The Rockets have won 22 in a row, maybe 23 after tonight. that is over 25% of the season. Playing more than twice a week, this is UNBELIEVABLE! In baseball this would translate to 40 in a row. It sure does look like with the current team chemistry they will FINALLY get that 1st round playoff victory.
  7. This is a great position, but the margin of error is ZERO. Don't win it all and quick and your strung up on a rope. I would really think twice before taking this job. It does give you the chance of winning state though. Nothing against Nederland, but the odds of Nederland winning state before LaMarque are not that good.
  8. Has Dayton's schedule been updated, as well as the other district teams? If so, can someone please post the new schedules.
  9. Rockets win 22 in a row and take over 1st place Tiger wins 5th straight tour event Which one is more impressive. Very difficult to pick. I can see either one being chosen. Winning on the PGA is extremely difficult, but winning 5 straight, WOW! Winning 22 in a row while having one of your all stars getting hurt for the season midway through the streak, another WOW! I still can't figure out which one is more impressive. Might have to give the edge to Tiger since winning on the PGA is a one man show.
  10. Sinks a 22 footer for birdie on the 72nd hole to win by a shot. SIMPLY AMAZING! What is more impressive... Tiger's 5th in a row or the Rockets winning 22 in a row? Both are simply unbeliebable.
  11. This is really AMAZING.... Tiger winning his 5th in a row and this Rockets streak or 2 monumental feats that happened within thirty minutes of each other. If the Rockets can at least split the next two games they will really be sitting pretty. GO ROCKETS!!!
  12. With Forest Brook and Smiley merging. Assuming Smiley remains the game scheduled and Forest Brook is dropped.... Dayton's new schedule is now... Aug. 29 Bay City Sept. 5 @ Friendswood Sept. 12 @ Crosby Sept. 19 Kingwood Park* Sept. 26 OPEN Oct. 3 Goose Creek Memorial* Oct. 10 @ C.E. King* Oct. 17 OPEN Oct. 24 Smiley* Oct. 31 @ Barbers Hill* Nov. 7 Galena Park* Don't you think the district will redo the schedules and make start the district games on September 26? This means most of the district teams will have only a 9 game season... Does anyone know if the teams will be able to schedule a 10th game?
  13. Don't you think they will redo the district schedule? That will free up week 3 for all the district teams if they go to a seven week district schedule with no off weeks.
  14. Sunday Sunday Sunday.... FIRST PLACE ON THE LINE... 21 Game Winning Streak.... Houston TX.... Will be a playoff atmosphere!
  15. Great article. The memories that survive and live on in both stadiums would be worthy of several book printings. It's all about the kids wearing the uniforms and playing for city pride. This is the very essence of Friday Night Lights. Pretty neat that MCM got #3 in the state.
  16. I video all of the Dayton home junior high games and make a yearbook DVD for the kids. I have watched the Ponies dismantle the little eagles for many years. This year however the competition was a little bit more even.
  17. How true... For the next few years Dayton should handle Barbers Hill (in football) This year the Eagles could be a Halloween sacrifice for the Broncos The 7th and 8th graders at Barbers Hill are very good. It will take a while until those kids impact the varsity football level.
  18. Trick or Treat.... Halloween is getting closer and closer....
  19. Just curious..... Zoom in on the picture and scroll up to PN Park... The old location of the city pool is also a "dirt pit". I knew they were closing down the pool and going to put in a small water sprinkler park. Any ideas on when this is scheduled to be done, or if it is still on the drawing board? It is a cool picture of my old stomping grounds. Thanks for sharing.
  20. THE SAGA CONTINUES.... WASHINGTON — Congress asked the Justice Department on Wednesday to investigate whether Roger Clemens made false statements to a House committee. The chairman and ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said they sent a letter to Justice. "We believe that his testimony in a sworn deposition on Feb. 5, 2008, and at a hearing on Feb. 13, 2008, that he never used anabolic steroids or human growth hormone, warrants further investigation," committee chairman Henry Waxman and ranking Republican Tom Davis wrote. "That testimony is directly contradicted by the sworn testimony of Brian McNamee, who testified that he personally injected Mr. Clemens with anabolic steroids and human growth hormone. "Mr. Clemens's testimony is also contradicted by the sworn deposition testimony and affidavit submitted to the committee by Andrew Pettitte, a former teammate of Mr. Clemens, whose testimony and affidavit reported that Mr. Clemens had admitted to him in 1999 or 2000 that he had taken human growth hormone."
  21. A career step up for Coach Brown.
  22. This is an injury that may affect Yao forever. A stress fracture of the navicular bone is no laughing matter. If I were the Rockets, I would trade him ASAP. I doubt Yao's better years are ahead of him.
  23. Texas in control.... Will be a big win for Texas....
  24. I just do not see it--Liberty is boxed in on 3 sides with only one way to grow. They will not experience explosive growth for at least25 years(if ever). You are correct however that it would be a mismatch and an unfair one at that This is true.... Barbers Hill will boom in student population over the next 5 years. They will be 5A easily within 10 years. The housing developments that are being planned now where the grand parkway crosses I-10 are HUGE! The Houston sprawl will eventually go up the grand parkway and into Liberty county where Dayton's student population will steadily continue to grow with new housing developments that will happen, but are not yet on the books. I can see Dayton being 4A long long after Barbers Hill goes 5A. Liberty will not see any growth from the Houston sprawl. Liberty can only grow east and that is towards Beaumont. I don't see any huge growth that way.
