  1. I was 11, but it seems like yesterday.
  2. Either this weekend or the previous weekend. The state 4A championship game was played in front of a record 49,500 fans in Texas Stadium featuring PN-G vs Plano. I vividly remember the game, never been back to Texas Stadium since, it is a "poor man's" astrodome. PN-G was in the shaded side and boy was it COLD! I also remember my dad breaking down and getting a CB for the trip. We were the 4 Aces from Port Neches. Funny how you remember things like this... Any one else on the forum "old" enough to remember that weekend. I couldn't find the date on the game, but I know it was around this time. It is kind of amazing that the attendance record has never been broken, not even closely challenged. With the 5A championship being televised, that is a record that may never get broken.
  3. The field at A&M is cut very short (almost like a putting green). If it doesn't rain a lot on Friday, it should be very close to playing on the new hybrid turf. If the field is wet, it will have an impact on the game.
  4. Hey coop.... I sure do miss watching the channel 6 weather.... IMO yall blow away the Houston guys... Anyways... Most of the reports I see for the weather is light rain Friday then clear on Saturday. When will the clearing start? Will it be late Friday when the clouds roll out? Also... Could you provide a channel 6 weather forecast for the game. Looks like the temp will stay in the 50's, but will the rain and clouds start clearing out since it is farther to the north and west?
  5. And that points allowed is IMO against a much much tougher schedule. I got a good feeling about this game. I think Dayton will come up with a defensive scheme to slow down the Cavaliers.
  6. My magical mojo is telling me good things... I just don't think they have seen a team with as much overall speed as what they will be facing. You can't coach speed and you can't stimulate a quicker person in practice. Coach Nations is just calling the right play almost every time when the defense lines up against us,and Coach Hancock is a defense wizard. The boys seem to be really focused. Can't wait till Friday!
  7. That is what I am thinking. I think Dayton can trade points with Lake Travis, but the Dayton defense has yeilded much much better numbers against more impressive opponents. The cavaliers could be in shock when they feel the fury of stampeding Broncos.
  8. I have been told by many officials that the biggest jump in game speed from 7th to varsity is the jump from JV to varsity. Any freshmen that is able to go from 8th grade junior high football straight to varsity is truly talented, there is just a huge leap in the speed of the game.
  9. Might be fitting to show the Broncos Rocky IV on the bus trip to College Station.... I think the richy rich boys are in a rude awakening from the Dayton Broncos.
  10. Does anyone know when the football team is leaving?
  11. This could be the quickest overall team Lake Travis has faced all year. Will be nice knowing that when Dayton is on the field they will have the quickest two or three athletes. I still have a feeling this game comes down to scoring in the red zone. Look for both offenses to move the ball, but can they punch it in. A big advantage to Lake Travis might be a really good field goal kicker. I still have a positive outlook on this game. 22-4A was very strong this year and provided good competition for the Broncos. I also think the Region III playoff teams would beat most Region IV teams.
  12. Another example of stampeding Broncos!
  13. Updates on Friday's activities for Dayton posted on this thread. Early releases for ALL schools. Secondary is released at 12 and Elementary is released 1. Also.... DISD is providing charter busses. This is copied for a district email... We have just made arrangements with the Dayton Chamber and Dayton News to assist with community charter buses for the game this Friday night. Both the Dayton Chamber office and the DISD Central Administration Building will be selling both football and charter bus tickets. The cost of a seat on one of the charter buses will be $25 and will include a meal at the tailgate party. Buses will leave the Woodrow Wilson parking lot at approximately 2:30 p.m. this Friday and should return to Dayton around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Charter bus tickets will go on sale this afternoon and sales will end Thursday afternoon at both locations. Bronco football tickets are now on sale at both locations but will end at close of business at the Dayton Chamber office this Thursday and at noon on Friday at the DISD Administration Building. Football ticket prices are $8 for adults, $4 for students, and $9 at the gate. Dayton ISD faculty picture IDs will be honored at the gate (good for that staff member only). I hope that this information is of assistance. GO BRONCOS!!! Driving directions can be found at.... [Hidden Content] or you can go to my website at.... [Hidden Content] GO BRONCOS!!!! ONE GAME AT A TIME... NEVER STOP BELIEVING!
  14. This game was full of big hits and changing momentum. Waller dominated the game in the 3rd quarter. It is amazing that Dayton won this game with only running 4 offensive plays. I thought for sure the Dayton defense would tire out in the 4th quarter, but every inch and yard that Waller got on it's last drive was just a sheer battle. It was ashame one team had to lose, there were two very good teams on the field, but in my opinion the best team did win this game, and without the two 3rd quarter TD's it could have been much much worse than 28 to 21. Also... Waller did NOT have one drive over 60 yards for points. In that regards Dayton did slow down the Waller offense.
  15. If the Broncos learned anything from those two fumbles, it is how just one play can drastically change the course of a game. If Dayton does field that punt, it is a sure bet they drive the field and score, and as previously stated, the score probably ends up being 42 or 49 to 0 in another Dayton landslide victory. However, the comeback in the 4th quarter did make the Broncos a better team, now they know they can perform against a team with momentum when the game is on the line. This game will come down to who can stop the other inside the 20. Dayton has done this better than ANYBODY in the WHOLE state in 4A. Dayton must avoid turnovers. If either team has more than 3 turnovers this Friday, it will probably end their season.

  17. BRONCO HIGHLIGHTS NOW POSTED AT HSGAMETIME.COM [Hidden Content] ENJOY!!! GO BRONCOS!
  18. It is completed, one day late, but done. The slow motion effect on the big hit and the catch for a TD are amazing! Also, the last two plays have the original game audio. On the fumble recovery play, the crowd got so loud you can barely distinguish the air horns going off. The video has a "special" ending. HOPE YOU ENJOY!!! The video is at..... www.toupsgraphics.neptune.com I am about to start uploading the videos to hsgametime.com This is done one at a time, and it will take about 30 minutes to an hour to do this. I will update the threads when they are all at hsgametime.com ENJOY!!! GO BRONCOS!!! KEEP ON BELIEVING!
  19. I am sure there is some favoritism in this poll ;D Don't know much about the other three, but I am sure the Dayton defense can stack up with the best of them. When you boil it down, the team with the best defense will win it all.... Dayton is sitting pretty with the STATES #1 defense using points allowed per game. ps.... The Dayton offense can probably trade points with any of the remaining teams.
  20. Thanks, Mike, I mislabled the file, it looked like #12 on my video clip. Whoever it was, #55 will not forget that one.
  21. The stadium holds 11,000. One paper had an estimate of 11,000 at the game, it looked like a sell out, there were people standing on the walkways to the sides in the 2nd half. I would also have estimated the crowd around 11,000. In the 3rd quarter the stadium did fill up completely. 11,000 looks like a lot in that stadium, but at A&M's field, it will look miniscule, but the atmosphere will still be there with the Bronco fans!!!! anyone heard about early release on Friday from DISD????? It's about a 2.5 to 3.5 hour trip from Dayton depending on traffic, the route taken, and what you set the cruise control on . Maybe just maybe the early release might happen before the 1 oclock and 2 oclock releases from last week.... Would be nice!!!!
  22. If Waller hadn't been tackled by stampeding Broncos they probably wouldn't have coughed up the ball. The Waller fumbles weren't miscues by the Waller players they were FORCED by PROPER tackling! Bottom line in the game was that Dayton's defense was BETTER than Waller's defense. The difference in this game was the defensive edge to Dayton.
  23. Thanks for the compliments... ALL OF US ADULTS NEED TO REMEMBER THAT EACH FRIDAY NIGHT IS.... ALL ABOUT THE KIDS! This is just my way to pay them back for doing my math assignments and remembering my first classroom rule.
