  1. There are only 5 left....
  2. It makes it fun though doesn't it..... If all things work out, next week will be just.... AWEsome!!!
  3. AMEN!!!! Even though I was on the wrong side of the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat 9 weeks ago, this Lumberton team should be savoring every moment they have right now.... For the first time in school history they have made the playoffs, and boy howdy are they doing an AWEsome job. Taking out LaMarque last week, and then.... They can still lay claim to being the only team in 22-4A to beat the Broncos. Give credit where credit is due... GOOD LUCK TO THE RAIDERS THIS WEEK! This talk makes this website fun!
  4. ONE WEEK AT A TIME.... But don't you hear the sound of thunderous stampeding Broncos running toward a mighty choo choo train, that might be running out of coal come next Friday...
  5. I hope you have some good ear plugs in two weeks.... Have you ever heard the sound of a steaming locomotive running off the tracks and crashing into a valley deep deep below???? boy howdy..... DAYTON AND LUMBERTON BETTER TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS THIS WEEK!!! We all know what happens in (the clock is ticking...)
  6. Sorry about that.... CRUSH WALLER THIS WEEK!!!! GO RAIDERS!!!! I believe over here across the Trinity, I can hear the faint sound of a mighty steam engine plowing through the playoffs!
  7. The current Bronco home stands hold 5,000.... That is equal to the Raiders home stands.... 5000 = 5000 Heres another math problem for you.... What is the cummulative scores for the last 8 opponents of the Broncos... Answer.... Dayton 336 Opposition 37 Look for Dayton's number to start approaching 400 as we feast on Lion chops this week....
  8. PN-G graduate 1985, now a current DISD employee... Ever wonder how the Dayton's defensive players seem to be every where at the right time lately??? They might have had a pretty good 8th grade math teacher who taught them how to use math with MORE POWER!! The purple blood in me runs very very deep.... ps.... I still hear that clock ticking, and the hoofs of thundering Broncos practicing about 600 yards from me right now are in sync with the tick tock..... It's now 6 PM on Tuesday... Clock says.... 241 hours, or 14,460 minutes, which is 867,600 seconds....
  9. At 5 PM on Tuesday, November 27 the clock says... 242 hours till Friday, December 7 7 PM (Could be an interesting rematch starting then. The teams D____ vs L____) That would be.... 14,520 minutes or... 871,200 seconds..... tick tock tick tock.... The clock is ticking amidst the sound of beating Bronco hoofs stampeding through and over every single opponent that has oppossed them for the last eight Fridays. The score over the last eight Fridays.... DAYTON 336 OPPOSITION 37 tick tock tick tock... Who will be next, and then next after that?
  10. CONGRATS TO LUMBERTON!!! Keep the train rolling this Friday!
  11. I also heard that ESPN was dumping it's moto of "how great USC is" to.... Lumberton Raiders... Greatest of all time???? GOOD LUCK RAIDERS THIS WEEK!!!! Don't think about next week, just take care of business Friday!! ps.... ENJOY THE HALF DAY OF SCHOOL FRIDAY!!!!! Wish we over here in DISD could get in on that action ;D
  12. In no way am I intending to "trash talk" Crosby. The fact is that toward the end of the 3rd quarter it was 42 to 0. If Crosby played Livingston I bet Crosby would win or at least play them close. That would lead you to believe that Dayton might have a similar result against Livingston. You are also very right to assume now that there are 16 teams left there really isn't any pushovers, but Livingston's part of the bracket had to be the weakest in the whole state. No way does Livingston or Waller get past Texas City or LaMarque. You really have to assume that Dayton wins this game big considering the fact that Texas City would probably win big over Livingston and that Crosby would at least have a 50 50 shot of beating a team now in the final 16. Not being cocky or anything, but a betting man would probably put money that Dayton's JV squad does see some action in this game. It's not being arrogant or cocky, just looking and comparing scores and stats and being "realistic".
  13. I wouldn't consider LaMarque a "weak" playoff team. No other Lumberton team has come close to equalling what this team has done. This team may not have the talent of past Lumberton teams, but as a unit, they have to be considered the best.
  14. There is no debate on this question.... Raiders 2007 is on top of the mountain, the others are way way down in the valley looking up.
  15. Thanks for the information... That is what this website is all about!
  16. Looking at the 16 teams remaining... Check this out.... Points Allowed #1 Dayton - 17 Points Scored #1 Dayton - 91 Not too shaby, considering Dayton's first two opponents. Texas City was state ranked as #4 and in the Houston area was #1. Dayton had 4 turnovers and still only gave up 17 points against a very good offensive team. Crosby was regarded in many state rankings as a top 30 to 35 team, and the 4th quarter was basically played with Dayton's JV squad. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BRONCOS!!!! One game at a time!!!
  17. THANKS WOS87.... ONCE AGAIN... U R AWESOME!!! Looks like the metroplex is ahead in state titles from this layout... Also makes an excellent quiz on high school football trivia... I know a little more than half the schools...
  18. WOS87.... About ten years ago I was listening to a sports radio show and they were talking about the strongest football areas historically in the state of Texas. The way the guest explained how he calculated the historical strong areas of the state was by putting push pins on a state wide map for every school that won a state championship. When he was done he said there were three spots where the pins were concentrated the most. They were... The Odessa Midland area, the Abilene area, and..... drum roll...... The Golden Triangle area.... Wonder how this would look now with the recent state championship success of Katy, South Lake Carrol, and LaMarque... If you got time..... Do you think you can get a state wide map and put dots on it to show what part of the state has the most state champions... I have always been curious to what this looks like. Thanks for all the charts and graphs you provide for this web site, it sure does make this site much better. AWEsomely PURPLE4EVER
  19. Dayton's odds of winning are about 9 out of 10. Lumbertons odds of winning are about 6 or 7 out of 10, I say closer to 7 out of 10. That puts the odds of a rematch.... 9/10 x 7/10 = 63/100 or about a 60% to 70% chance. All of this talk is for naught if either of these teams don't take care of business this week.... I also have been thinking of the stadium... It's not like Lamar is in Lumberton's backyard. It's probably about a 20 minute drive (or maybe more) from Lumberton HS to Lamar, and it's about 60 minutes from Dayton High School to Lamar. If the game were held at Lamar it would easily sell out. I think the game would be better at Baytown due to the turf and the seating capacity is only slightly smaller than Lamar's, the press box is also vastly improved.
  20. GO RAIDERS!!! Looks like Deer Park is already anticipating a large Lumberton crowd!!!! Take care of business this week!
  21. You said it...
  22. Agree.... Dayton had the visiting side packed... Doesn't seat more then 9,000 IMO Instead of complaining about the seating, Lumberton should be very very thankful they don't have to travel through Houston on a Friday evening down the Katy (parking lot) freeway. If the game were at Tully or Katy, it would probably take about 90 minutes of driving time to get from the west loop to HWY 6 (that is a distance of only 13 miles). Now they are looking at 90 minutes of driving to get to Deer Park. The stadium should hold "almost" everyone. It is a very nice stadium and will be a fine venue for the Raider fans to watch their team WIN AGAIN!!! Don't get too cocky here, but Lumberton's front seven should shut down the Waller running game. If the offense doesn't have too many miscues, the Raiders should be playing in the quarter finals against ____________

  24. Agree... They will be lucky to get 14 (and all those points are likely to come in the 4th quarter when the subs are in). This game will probably be like 42 to 0 going into the 4th quarter.
