[Hidden Content] STATE PLAYOFFS REGION III 4A AREA TOUPS GRAPHICS RESULTS In the first week of the playoffs 22-4A swept out 21-4A, this week Dayton squared off against the Chronicles #1 Houston area team, Texas City, Lumberton faced off against the #4 area team, LaMarque, and PN-G battled Saturday night against #2 area team Lamar Consolidated. This is the round that in years past saw 22-4A having their playoffs end as 23-4A was the district that usually sent a team out of the quarterfinals. Toups Graphics predicted Dayton would get the better of Texas City, while the Raiders and Indians wouldn't be able to match up. Who won and who lost, read below.... GAME OF THE WEEK DAYTON VS TEXAS CITY FRIDAY 7 PM TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION DAYTON 24 TEXAS CITY 14 ******************** THE RESULT ******************** DAYTON 42 TEXAS CITY 10 I don't think anybody saw this coming. The area's top rushing team is basically shut down by the speedy Bronco defense, while despite having 5 turnovers, the Broncos offense churns out over 400 yards of offense on the way to scoring 6 touchdowns. Texas City's dbacks were no match for Dugat and Powell as both were consistently open all night. Texas City's defense failed to get pressure on Charles as the Dayton QB had 4 touchdown passes which overcame his turnovers. The Broncos dismantle the #1 area team and now look to be a force in every game they play from here on out. LUMBERTON VS LAMARQUE FRIDAY 7 PM STALLWORTH STADIUM BAYTOWN TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTIONS LAMARQUE 28 LUMBERTON 10 ******************** THE RESULT ******************** LUMBERTON 24 LAMARQUE 21 Toups Graphics had a hard time using his mojo to predict this game, This is what was predicted. Then in the fourth quarter either two things happen. Lumberton presses the LaMarque offense into some turnovers which results in the go ahead points, or LaMarque finally gets one of it's playmakers with the ball into the Raider secondary scoring a TD. The latter will happen. Look for LaMarque to score a TD halfway through the 4th quarter that forces the Raiders into a pass game to catch up. LaMarque forces an interception or fumble which results in the dagger in the heart touchdown. I picked against the Raiders vs Central, and they won, and I should have learned a lesson. Instead of Lumberton making the fatal turnover it was LaMarque. The Raiders convert the late turnover into the go ahead field goal. Don't get me wrong, the Raiders win over the Broncos was huge, but this victory is the cherry on top of the sundae. This was without a doubt the largest football victory in Raiders history. What a year it has been for the Raiders. Now they are in the sweet sixteen of the state, and will be the favorites in their next game. Good luck to the Raiders this week. PN-G VS LAMAR CONSOLIDATED SATURDAY 7 PM STALLWORTH STADIUM BAYTOWN TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTIONS LAMAR CONSOLIDATED 28 PN-G 14 ******************** THE RESULT ******************** LAMAR CONSOLIDATED 26 PN-G 7 Toups Graphics accurately predicts the four TD's made by Lamar, but after the first drive that resulted in the Indian TD, the PN-G's offense is held out of the endzone for the remainder of the game. The Indians season is now over, but what a great year it was. The Indians start the year at 0 and 2 and then reel off seven straight victories. Among the victories are a huge win that gave the Bulldog's their first loss of the year, and the Indians can lay claim to the fact that they are the only team to beat the Raiders. Now the Indians are eagerly awaiting next season in their refurbished Reservation. There will be five very lucky teams next year. I am a one man crew... I position myself so that if Dayton makes a play they will be running towards the camera... The Lumberton Dayton game was a defensive struggle that featured both offenses just miscuing alot (due to the quality of the defenses) I wish I had the time and the cameras to get highlights from both sides and really do a two team highlight reel, but doing just one team is a huge time commitment. It is neat to give the final Friday Night Lights DVD to all the kids at Dayton High School that helped make Friday Nights in Dayton something special. Having taught many of these kids 8th grade math, it is really neat to be able to watch them grow up into quality adults. Thanks for the compliments on my videos. I have a Canon GL1 camcorder and it does capture very good video.

If I were part of the JV squad that got to play against Crosby, I sure would be preparing to play this Friday. Dayton will be up by at least 49 points with one quarter left. I wouldn't be surprised to see a shut out. Can the JV move the ball with only calling running plays between the tackles?

If there was one team that 22-4A needed to beat the most is was LaMarque. WAY TO GO RAIDERS!!!! The best thing about both Dayton and Lumberton winning this week, really won't be the rematch, it is a gaurantee that one of the 22-4A will get to the semi finals, and hopefully to the title game!!!

I believe Dayton's last 4 plays were inside the 20 and were all running plays between the tackles. Dayton was trying to run out the clock, but the trend of Texas City not being able to tackle a Bronco continued. Gable didn't even break a tackle on the TD run. I just don't think I-45 is shut down for repairs, but so is HWY 146 and... HWY 3!!! The only thing pounding these roadways will be the sounds of bouncing basketballs!!!! WAY TO GO DAYTON AND LUMBERTON!!!!

I am in the first quarter of the game video... I just don't think the offenses we have played lately can prepare for the speed of Dayton's defense. Before the Nederland game they revamped the defense, and it has shut down every team. In the first half Texas City did not have a first down. Dayton's offensive line is playing better also. Greg really wasn't pressured all night. Despite having 5 turnovers... To beat a team as good as Texas City by 32 points is just unbelievable....

Thoughts about the game... In the first half Texas City did not have a first down! Take away the turn over, they did not cross their 40 yard line! Dayton has 5 turnovers AND STILL DESTROYS one of the highest rated 4A teams in the Houston area. I wouldn't want to be the Livingston Lions next week. They have not seen any team close to the way Dayton is playing now. What a week to be a Bronco!!!

Way to go Dayton and Lumberton!!! Finally.... 22-4A gets past 23-4A.... Guess they are serving up crow in south east houston!!!! Texas City and LaMarque are ousted on the same day by the same district!!! PRICELESS!!!
