  1. We're not "cocky" we are realistic. Dayton wins this game by at least 4 touchdowns.
  2. end of the school day when i posted that thread.... We are always told not to listen to the "radio" over the internet during school hours. Can't wait till the "webcast" tomorrow night.
  3. You will find out in the playoffs. Although this district was competitive, as you advance in each round the overall speed of the game increases. Dayton's offense was out of sync last year against Texas City because the Bronocs couldn't adapt to the speed of the game. The better and faster teams that you can play before district it will help your team. YOU CAN NOT DUPLICATE A QUICKER TEAMS SPEED IN PRACTICE. This, to me is one of the biggest factors in the playoffs. Although not a "golden rule", the team that has the two to three or even four quickest guys on the field has a HUGE advantage in the game. Speed can be contained to a certain level, but it is one of the biggest advantages in high school football.
  4. What you just spoke of was probably the difference in the PN-G - Lumberton game. Lumberton playing PN-G elsewhere might have a different outcome. When you play teams like PN-G that have a home side that seats close to 8000, that is just a huge homefield advantage. To top that off.... Honor Pride and Tradition make it even tougher to win there.
  5. If this keeps up, every thread involving Dayton and the "secret meeting" will get locked up... Just chill till tomorrow evening. Should be an interesting radio program. I can't wait to read the threads on Thursday about the radio broadcast on Wednesday.
  6. The question is not about being "crybabies'... The question is... If the rules for the tiebreaker seeding were agreed upon on Thursday in a meeting of the AD's, then why did the superintendants meet on Friday? As previously stated.... The meeeting did not change who went into the playoffs (thank goodness). Something just doesn't smell right on why the meeting was necessary at all... And maverick..... It is not just the Dayton people that won't to find this out! Just read through the thread, there are people from all over that won't to know the TRUTH! As the title of this thread states.... This district probably wants this matter "swept under the rug" because they know what they did wasn't right. If nothing controversial happened, for sure we would have known more.
  7. On that particular night the best team did win, but there is always the potential for the upset. The best overall team may not play their best resulting in losing the game.
  8. From the videos I edited there was little doubt the best defensive line Dayton faced during district was Lumberton. The game would have taken on a very different aspect if AJ were at receiver. Lumberton knew where Dayton's playmaker was and did everything right to stop him. That being said... Over the last six weeks the offensive line gelled. The running game has taken off over the last two weeks, due to the offensive line. Dayton's QB really wasn't pressured any during the PN-G and Nederland games. Overall, the Broncos are playing some of the best football any of Stewarts teams have ever played. If they can keep it up, it looks very promising.
  9. Texas City beat LaMarque??? It is nice to see Dayton and Lumberton side by side in the rankings. Hopefully we can both make it four more weeks and get the much anticipated rematch.
  10. From what I got out of the Baytown paper and the Liberty Radio Station, this is why the AD's met on Thursday. From the reports the tie breaker system was put in place and then THERE WAS a meeting Friday. I know this for a fact. Nederland, PN-G, Dayton, and Lumberton did not vote since they were involved in the tiebreaker. It just seems "fishy" that the Friday meeting happened.
  11. Why isn't Texas City there??? Don't they only have one loss?
  12. have any of the radio stations in the Beaumont area talked about this?
  13. PLEASE!!! This is already on about three other threads! The one game between the two teams took place 7 weeks ago and history has recorded the winner of the game. HOPEFULLY BOTH TEAMS WILL PLAY IN FOUR WEEKS! That will mean one of the 22-4A teams will be going to the semifinals! GOOD LUCK TO THE RAIDERS AND BRONCOS THIS WEEK!
  14. It's ashame the only media reporting on this are the Liberty radio station and the Baytown Sun. Both of those reports still lack the question to why the Friday meeting was called. Don't know why, it is just bugging me. I was totally content on Dayton being the 2nd seed with the scenario tvc was tellling, but then why did they call the meeting? Something just doesn't seem right about this whole scenario. The good thing is that ALL the teams involved are playing this week and no one was left out of the playoffs due to a last minute change?
  15. There is no way that Smiley will even fill the visiting side... It will be wrong if Lumberton isn't allowed to use the larger side. "The School Administration is taking care of it! HAHHHAA " Finally some humor from the Lumberton fans! GOOD LUCK LUMBERTON!!!
  16. It will be nice to know why the Friday meeting ever happened. If the seeding were to occur like tvc is saying, then why did they have to have a meeting? In 48 hours we will all know.
  17. Who is the official "home" team???
  18. In a three way tie.... Dayton - 1 + 18 = + 17 Lumberton + 1 - 7 = - 6 PN-G + 7 - 18 = - 11 Westbrook is #1 Dayton should be #2 PN-G beat Lumerton so they should be placed ahead of them. PN-G #3 Lumberton #4 All three teams are great teams, but the facts are clear that the Broncos are playing the best football around here, maybe even in this region.
  19. Coach Credeur is very deserving of the award.
  20. During the Central victory the offense really wasn't in "sync". Centrals defensive speed probably had something to do with that. Then against an over all slower Nederland defense Greg had his breakthrough game. He finally started hitting the deep slant routes and fade routes. If you double up on AJ just ask PN-G what Powell can do. Powell had 4 touchdowns against PN-G. I wouldn't want to be a defensive coordinator with the responsibility of slowing down the Bronco offense now. You can't stack the line and live the recievers one on one, you can't double and triple team AJ or Powell will get yardage, and you can't pull the line backers back or Gable will reel of a 10 yard run. Look for Dayton to score in the 40's or 50's in this game. As for the Dayton defense, Crosby will be lucky to score.
  21. Last year when we played Texas City, the game speed was much quicker. The Bronco offense just couldn't get in sync. This years team has much more over all speed. If we are in the ball game at half I say we take the game. We need to play one game at a time and don't look ahead. If we don't win Friday this poll is insignificant.
  22. Relish in the fact that Lumberton did beat Dayton this year. But as far as the #2 seed... Must be nice to CHANGE THE RULES to get the #1 seed. Second... "Crosby doesn't beat yall like raidernation did." A one point victory in the last few seconds of a game is not a whipping, it is pulling out a last second "home field advantage" win. Third.... "Second are you hoping that LaMarque will do something that yall couldn't." If Lumberton does get to the second round along with LaMarque, I wish the Raiders the best of luck. Fourth.... "See I want to pull for Dayton but its posters like you and Purple that make Other teams root against yall." I think your words in this post are in harmony of what this district did on the Friday afternoon meeting. Good luck against Smiley, if things get rough just see if you can have the rules changed. Back to the topic.... Hopefully all three 22-4A teams will win this Friday. That is the first step to the rematch.
  23. Thanks for the rankings... Now the real season begins. The key is to have a six game winning streak (or 5 if your big school). Sad to say, but when the ball is kicked off each game, these rankings are worthless. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS THIS FRIDAY!
