  1. It's called REALITY! For it's first six games, Nederland really didn't play anybody (except for Brenham in week 1). There hardest three games were in their last four games and they went 1 and 3. Not a good way to finish the season.
  2. According to point spread... The season ends with a three way tie for first place. Under UIL rules all three teams share the "tri district championship". If you go by point spread, the the rankings would be.... #1 DAYTON -1 + 16 = +15 #2 LUMBERTON +1 -7 = -6 #3 PN-G +7 - 16 = -9 If only one team were allowed in the playoffs, according to point spreads, it would be the Broncos!
  3. This was posted on my "Fearless Prediction Yet Perfect Again" thread.... "The season ends with a three way tie for first place. Under UIL rules all three teams share the "tri district championship". If you go by point spread, the the rankings would be.... #1 DAYTON -1 + 16 = +15 #2 LUMBERTON +1 -7 = -6 #3 PN-G +7 - 16 = -9 If only one team were allowed in the playoffs, according to point spreads, it would be the Broncos!" Bronco fans... Rest assured that if only one team would have gone it would have been DAYTON!!!! As far as who we play in the first round it won't make much difference because all three games will probably be two or more touchdown blowouts. What does make a difference is the 2nd round game. I think we are on the Texas City side. The Broncos will need to keep playing AWEsome to get through the 2nd round! If we do we could be going a long way into the playoffs. Instead of griping lets just relish in the fact that according to point spread we ended up on top, but according to UIL it is TRI Champs!!! We can always put the point spread results by the trophy or plaque to "justify" being on top, but we are tri champs, and if you ask anyone from PN-G or Nederland what would happen with a Lumberton - Dayton rematch. The results of the survey wouldn't be close. Lumberton fans, congrats on finally breaking into the playoffs. Lumberton, PN-G, and Dayton would all be best served of not worrying about this "tri-champ" thing and start worrying about the playoffs. SIX MORE WINS (or 5 for PN-G) AND YOU ARE CHAMPS!!! That is the number 1 that makes the most difference. It has been many many years since one of the 22-4A teams made it to the quarterfinals. We all need to be cheering for one of these teams to make it there! GOOD LUCK TO THE RAIDERS, INDIANS, AND THE BRONCOS!!! Now then, go win the first round playoff game!!!!
  4. The FEARLESS PREDICTIONS finish the season with perfect predictions for the last four weeks! Highlights of the PN-G - Dayton game will be posted tomorrow. DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 10 TOUPS GRAPHICS RESULTS Toups Graphics finishes the season strong with four more perfect predictions! Toups Graphics picks, Dayton, Lumberton, Vidor, and Ozen all are winners. What a night and weekend it will be in Lumberton. Congrats to the students at Lumberton high school that have given their community something to be proud about. Look for Dayton, PN-G, and Lumberton to ALL win next week in the first round of the playoffs! GAME OF THE WEEK NEDERLAND AT LUMBERTON TOUPS GRAPHICS' FEARLESS PREDICTION LUMBERTON 35 NEDERLAND 14 **************** THE RESULT *************** LUMBERTON 33 NEDERLAND 7 My oh my, how the tables have turned. Six weeks into the season the once might Bulldogs were undefeated and boasting of a state ranking of #11. Since then they have lost to their arch rival PN-G, got plastered by another purple and white team, and now they got to watch the Raiders celebrate their first playoff appearance in school history. Congrats to the Raider football team that just kept winning. The L-Train is running strong going into the playoffs. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Bulldogs get outscored in their last two games 96 to 7. Not a good way to end the season. PN-G AT DAYTON TOUPS GRAPHICS' FEARLESS PREDICTION DAYTON 35 PN-G 10 ***************** THE RESULT **************** DAYTON 40 PN-G 7 Another accurate prediction by Toups Graphics. A crowd of about 7,000 watch a closely battled first quarter, and then the Bronco offense finally explodes. The Broncos speed was just too much for the Indians. After allowing PN-G to drive down the field on their first possession and score, the Broncos blank the Indians for the rest of the game. A very impressive stat... Since the Lumberton game, the Bronco offense has scored on it's first possession in EVERY game. Look for both PN-G and Dayton to win their first playoff game next week. LC-M AT VIDOR THE ORANGE BOWL TOUPS GRAPHICS' FEARLESS PREDICTION VIDOR 28 LC-M 7 *************** THE RESULT *************** VIDOR 31 LC-M 10 What a week of predictions. Another very accurate prediction. The Pirates finally get the Black Pearl sailing while the Bears can never wake up from hibernation. The Bears finish district without winning a game. The Pirates were in several games and finally broke through with a win in their last game. OZEN AT CENTRAL (LAMAR STADIUM) THE BEAUMONT BOWL TOUPS GRAPHICS' FEARLESS PREDICTION OZEN 21 CENTRAL 17 ************* THE RESULT *********** OZEN 17 CENTRAL 10 Another prediction becomes close to becomming reality. Ozen wins the Beaumont Bowl. Wow, What happened to Central. At the beginning of the season they were picked by many to win it all, and now they finish district with wins over only LC-M and Vidor. Thank goodness for Ozen and Central that basketball is right around the corner. TOUPS GRAPHICS FINISHES THE REGULAR SEASON WITH A 40 AND 12 PREDICTION RECORD
  5. I'll try to find out... Usually they have the gates open at least an hour before the game.
  6. Lots of big games. I have been looking foward to the Bronco - Indian game at Dayton ever since it was announced that Dayton was in 22-4A. Tonight it Dayton will be a night I will remember for a long time.
  7. Any one from Dayton who doesn't go to this game, will be missing out. Tonight at Bronco Stadium will be a true exhibition of what Friday Night Lights is all about. Two great teams with great athletes. An overflow SRO crowd. Two great bands performing an AWEsome halftime show. This should be a must see game for all the people of Dayton. Bronco Stadium will be the place to be tonight! The largest crowd to ever watch a football game in Liberty and Chambers county will be treated to a fantastic contest.
  8. Tonights the night ! ! ! Dayton fans are in for a treat. What a great game it will be. Unfortunately for the PN-G fans, HWY 90 East bound at 10:00 PM could be turned into the "trail of tears" as the Indians lose out on finishing the district undefeated. See all of you PN-G fans tonight!
  9. I think Nederland can not win this game by just passing. If they can't run the ball it will not be pretty. Citizens of Lumberton are going to be in up to their armpits in joy in about 28 hours.
  10. When done properly, yes. Competition brings out the best in all people. The lessons learned not only in football, but in all sports can transcend into just about any career. The joy earned from the thrill of victory and the pain suffered from the agony of defeat will be lessons learned that will last a lifetime. Champions adapt to the situation and overcome adversity, losers make excuses. A good coach will instill this into the kids. Don't make excuses for failing, but learn to adapt and overcome. This will help any individual succeed later in life.
  11. Thanks for the info...
  12. I have sources that say PN-G has sold out of adult tickets. Went to the DISD admin building to get my mom a ticket. They said they sent over 1,000 student tickets and 1,500 adult tickets. I guess PN-G still has some student tickets left???? Anyways... I was told Dayton is planning on selling general admission tickets tomorrrow at the gate. It sounded like anyone who walked up would get a ticket. There is still some tickets available on the Dayton side of the field. I know there will be many from PN-G wanting to know about tickets tomorrow so I thought I would post this. I believe all tickets at the gate tomorrow will be $6. Can't wait till tomorrow night. What a great Friday Night Lights atmosphere there will be at Bronco Stadium. A real treat for the fans and for the players. Nothing beats playing in front of a stadium with an SRO crowd and even better, it will all be purple and white. ps... Also... Just curious... I have a summer job being a photographer at a summer camp in Pennsylvania. When I tell them that my high school sells season tickets it just drops their jaws. Most schools in the northeast can't comprehend the fan support for high school football that we have in Texas. I am estimating that PN-G has a season ticket base of about 3,000 to 4,000. Anyone from PN-G have a more "accurate" number to the season ticket base. It is probably the largest in this part of the state.
  13. You know instead of one liners here why don't we actually talk about why PNG and GP will be a good matchup? Is that possible or we going to spend the next week with my dad can outrun your dad.
  14. Do they still use this phrase...
  15. Bronco Stadium is more than adequate for any team we play (except for PN-G). But there are several stadiums that are in the same situation, not every stadium is built to seat 5,000 visiting fans. Bronco Stadium is the BEST 4A facility between Houston and Beaumont. Bronco Stadium will be a great venue for the game Friday, and I am sure that most PN-G fans will walk away with a favorable impression of the stadium (even those who are standing). It will be great night for the game and it will take place in a great facility. PN-G fans... Drive safely to and from the game. See you tomorrow night!
  16. Thats the way I see it... Win round 2 and you can probably get to round 4. I do think at least one of the 22-4A teams will win in round 2. ps... 21-4A If you can get time away from basketball practice and weight lifting you might want to actually go watch a round 2 playoff game to see what it's like, considering none of your teams have played in round 2 in years.
  17. You should consider PN-G to be lucky Barbers Hill wasn't the team that was put into 22-4A instead of Dayton. Dayton's visitor stands seat about 3,500 while Barbers Hill doesnt' even seat 1,000. I would also think that Dayton's visitor stands seats more than LC-M. I guess not that many Indian fans stayed at LC-M last year when you played over there
  18. Not as many as Nederland, but at least they have made it to the big show and have won district outright. Like I said.... Nederland is perfectly content with being the bridesmaid and never the bride. Their playoff appearances have been due to the fact that they know how to get third place. I would rather have one blue ribbon for first place than three third place ribbons.
  19. If Dayton wins over PN-G... The winner of the Lumberton - Nederland game is in. If PN-G beats Dayton then.... It will be a three way tie for 3rd if Nederland wins. Nederland will need to win by 9 to beat the point spread on the three way tie. Lumberton wants PN-G to win. If PN-G wins, then Lumberton basically starts the game winning 8 to 0.
  20. Nederland can NEVER compare to the attendance of PN-G in the playoffs... Look at the top 10... Attendance for these 10 games are among the highest on record in state history: Attendance Game Site Year 49,953 Plano vs. Port Neches-Groves Texas Stadium 1977* 46,339 Southlake Carroll vs. Euless Trinity Texas Stadium 2006 45,790 Highland Park vs. Waco Cotton Bowl 1945* 45,000 Houston Washington vs. Galveston Rice Stadium 1968 45,000 Dallas Adams vs. Richardson Cotton Bowl 1967 39,102 Garland vs. Katy Astrodome 1999* 39,102 Stephenville vs. Port Neches-Groves Astrodome 1999* 38,570 Port Neches-Groves vs. Houston Kashmere Astrodome 1977 38,374 Plano vs. Highland Park Texas Stadium 1980 38,000 Odessa vs. San Antonio Jefferson Memorial Stadium (Austin) 1946 36,000 Fort Bend Willowridge vs. Houston Yates Rice Stadium 1988 *state championship game PN-G is the ONLY school there three times. PN-G probably has a season ticket base that has over 1,000 what Nederland has. The way I look at it... Nederland is a wanna be PN-G. Sure they have gone to the playoffs more than PN-G has lately, but that has been due to three teams going. It looks like the Bulldogs are perfectly content with being the "brides maid" rather than the bride. How many outright district championships has Nederland won lately??? At least PN-G has made it to the state championship game in the last decade. Nederland hasn't even come close to this. Nederland does have more fan support than the other teams in the Golden Triangle, but it is a distant second compared to PN-G. oh by the way.... Don't look for PN-G to lay down and get 63 points racked up on them..... I never thought I would ever see a Bulldog team just quit like I did when the PURPLE AND WHITE Broncos lamblasted them on their homefield.
  21. I don't think you will be of sure of your district after they are swept out of the playoffs yet again. Crosby is probably crossing their fingers they don't have to play Dayton. Nothing can be worst to lose their last football game of the year again by being pounded the Broncos.
  22. INDIANS AMBUSHED ON THE HILL IN DAYTON Indians assume they are staging the battle of Little Bighorn when General Stewart reinforces George Custer riding into battle on huge Broncos which trample and stamped the tribe into submission. The tribe retreats across the river to the Reservation to prepare for their next battle while the Broncos continue to excel under the leadership of their 5 star general. Beaumont Enterprise MAYOR OF LUMBERTON DECLARES NOVEMBER 9 RAIDER DAY Lumberton DQ giving free Peanut Buster Parfaits to all Raider football players after parade down HWY 96 ends. Port Arthur News MIGHTY BULLDOGS END SEASON ON LOW NOTE The playoff run was terminated on Friday at Lumberton as the Raiders expose the lack of a running game for the Bulldogs. PANTHERS TOPPLE JAGUARS The Ozen Panthers top their cross town rivals in a thriller. THE BLACK PEARL SAILS AGAIN The Vidor Pirates put the Bears into hibernation.
  23. THANKS FOR THE LAUGH!!! Classic post nominee!! ps..... I still enjoy watching every touchdown (all 9) on the video tape, actually there was 18 touchdowns with the jumbotron replays!!! Friday night, November 3, 2007 will be a night that this PN-G grad long remembers. A purple and white team clocks the bulldogs with a 63 to 0 victory.
  24. Any update on ticket sales from PN-G for the Dayton game??? I hope all of you travelling to Dayton on Friday have a safe round trip. Also... Just curious... I have a summer job being a photographer at a summer camp in Pennsylvania. When I tell them that my high school sells season tickets it just drops their jaws. Most schools in the northeast can't comprehend the fan support for high school football that we have in Texas. I am estimating that PN-G has a season ticket base of about 4,000. Anyone from PN-G have a more "accurate" number to the season ticket base. It is probably the largest in this part of the state.
