Central vs. Ozen Predictions?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
OZEN AT CENTRAL (LAMAR STADIUM) THE BEAUMONT BOWL The Jaguars versus the Panthers at Lamar Stadium. The most exciting part of this game might be the bands at halftime. The Panthers are playing the best ball they have played all year, while the Jaguars have consistently under performed. Look for the Panthers to ride the wave of emotion and take out the Jaguars. Port Neches-Groves at Dayton Predictions
PURPLE 4EVER replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
PN-G AT DAYTON This will be a record setting crowd at Bronco Stadium. The city population of Dayton will double with the over 5,000 PN-G fans travelling across the Trinity to suport their team. Over 1,000 SRO people will witness a game between the top two teams from 22-4A. The Indians will experience sporadic success in running the ball on the districts best defense and avoid a shutout. Look for the Broncos to put 8 defenders in the box and hold the Indian ground game to less than 150 yards. The Bronco offense is now firing on all cylinders. The Indians will not be able to contain the speedy Bronco receivers. Gable will have more yards rushing than Hemmings while AJ Dugat will have more multipurpose yards than anyone. Dayton's QB, Greg Charles, has another great game while the Broncos take away the Indians tomahawks. The citizens of Dayton who do not go to this game will be missing out. LC-M vs. Vidor Predictions?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
LC-M AT VIDOR THE ORANGE BOWL The Orange Bowl will be the last time for the seniors at LC-M and Vidor to experience Friday Night Lights. Which group of seniors will win their last game in pads? Vidor has played the teams in district better than LC-M. Look for the Pirates to resurrect the Black Pearl and have their ship sailing at full mast under a strong wind, while the Bears go into hibernation without their "BOJO". Vidor's offense will return to the 3 yards and a cloud of dust glory days and slowly but surely move the ball up and down the field while the Pirates defense holds the Bears to a single touchdown. GAME OF THE WEEK NEDERLAND AT LUMBERTON When the clock hits zero in this game the difference between the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat will be the greatest of any game this year. This will be a winner take all game. Will Lumberton's season go down the toilet with a crushing defeat, or will the seniors at Nederland realize they are the first senior class in over a decade that failed to deliver their team to the playoffs. This game will feature both teams leaving nothing on the field. The stats don't lie over the district schedule. Lumberton has been more impressive in their victories. Lumberton will be more hungy to win this than the Bulldogs who are still reeling from the third largest defeat in school history. The Raider defense will shut down the inept Bulldog running game while blanketing their receivers while the offense will eventually wear down the Dogs. Look for the Raiders to have this game sewn up in the 4th quarter in an impressive victory. The bus trip home for the Bulldogs will not be joyous while Lumberton celebrates deep into the night. Heck, the Lumberton DQ might be giving away free Dilly Bars to the Raider's in the largest city wide celebration in the towns history. TOUPS GRAPHICS' FEARLESS PREDICTION LUMBERTON 35 NEDERLAND 14

I hope all of you have enjoyed my "Fearless Predictions" this year. This is the last week of the regular seaon, and it was not easy predicting the four games this week. Each game could go either way... The predictions are also located at... [Hidden Content] Who will win??? Read below DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 10 TOUPS GRAPHICS PREVIEWS Toups Graphics has accurately predicted the winners for the last three weeks! One more week in district then the playoffs start. Dayton and PNG are in, will it be Lumberton or Nederland that join them? This week features four games that could go either way. Accurately predicting all four of these games will not be easy. Good luck to all eight 22-4A teams, no matter what side of the prediction you are on. For many of these players it will be the last time they play competitive football with pads. *SETXsports.com Rankings After Week 9*
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dayton will be ready for the Indians.... Look for Dayton to be #2 in the SETX rankings after this week. -
Although the Broncos were on the short side of the stick... The Raider - Bronco game is tops (so far) in 22-4A. This really set the district up for Lumberton being 5 and 1. I believe that the Nederland - Lumberton game will be tops if it is close. There is just too much on the line for both teams. There will be no greater difference in the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat than in this game.

Who has the most spirit??
PURPLE 4EVER replied to That Asian Guy's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
There are three top schools in Texas in regard to school spirit and tradition... Plano, Odessa Permian, and PNG. Everyone else is looking up to them. Although... Last year... The Lumberton student section was just AWEsome despite being destroyed in the Dayton game. I tried to get to the Lumberton side this year, but the officials wanted me to stay on the Dayton side. The kids at Lumberton were very very supportive of their team. For Lumberton to win this week, it would just be huge, not only for the high school students, but to the whole commnunity. Lumberton had one of the largest crowds last year at Dayton (a little less than Nederland). Looking at video from the PN-G game they had the Reservation visiting section packed (about 5,500). However... If Dayton, PN-G, and Lumberton all make it three rounds deep in the playoffs... There is no question to which team will have the largest following. PN-G is the ONLY school in this part of the state that can put over 20,000 into the stands for a playoff game. -
"Cant belive Dayton got put up there b4 Lumberton" It's called.... Strength of Schedule. Instead of playing pansies in the first three games Dayton played a pretty tough predistrict schedule. Then on top of that they just clocked a team previously ranked #11 by a score of 63 to 0 while allowing the team to less than 50 yards of offense and only 2 first downs. Why is PNG b4 LaMarque... PNG is 7 and 2 after being 0 and 2. LaMarque has lost two games recently. The rankings mean nothing once the playoffs start. What matters now is to win the next 6 or 7 games.

Is this a "double secret" probation issued by Dean Warner from Favor U???

All roads meet in Dayton... When I first started working in Dayton I was wondering why DISD never put money into a nice stadium. It is very strategically located between Beaumont and Houston and would be idea for playoff games. It is sweet that in its first new year Dayton has already landed a playoff game. For most 4A schools and below the stands are adequate enough to hold crowds and the venue is just beautiful. There is no better lighting in SE Texas. In years to come look for Bronco stadium to host playoff games for the first few weeks of the playoffs. The only thing really lacking is a nice field house and more parking. These issues will be addressed in the upcoming years. WOS, enjoy the game in Dayton ! (whomever you may be playing)

Port Neches-Groves at Dayton Predictions
PURPLE 4EVER replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dayton is playing football better than any team in 4A around here. There last game versus Nederland was the best I have EVER seen the Broncos play. A repeat performance will be amazing. Does that mean PN-G should just throw in the towel... ABSOLUTELY NOT! This game is important because it will prepare both teams for the playoffs. The better and faster both teams play the better it is for both teams. The more people that are there will increase the "playoff" like environment. This will be a game will be a treat to watch. Hopefully this game goes down to the wire and both teams have to play 110% every down. This will only make each team better. This district should win all three first round games. The key round is the 2nd round of the playoffs. Looking at the brackets, the winner of the 2nd round stands an outstanding chance of getting out of this region and advancing to the quarterfinals. The better both teams play, I believe it will only increase their chances of winning that 2nd game in the playoffs. What a great game this will be! -

playoff games and the astrodome??
PURPLE 4EVER replied to 409's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Nothing beat watching PN-G win another playoff game in the dome in front of record crowds. It really was the "big teepee". It is ashame they have let if just fall apart. If I had to pick the best spot know to watch a playoff game it probably would be Rice Stadium, or if you are lucky, Reliant. -

fan support for the broncos
PURPLE 4EVER replied to knightrider's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Openning night against Friendswood I guess Dayton had about 4,000 people in the stands. Excellent article Mike... Dayton needs to show up in mass to support the kids, not just the football team, but the band, cheerleaders, and twirlers, and the new drill team is great. Friday Night Lights is all about the kids, as a community we need to support them. This Friday will be a great contest. You are missing out if you don't show up. Bronco Stadium could have as many as 10,000 people in it for the game. Seeing PN-G with all it's tradition, is a big treat, but an even larger treat will be seeing the Dayton Broncos win again at home. Hopefully the new home stands will be packed out, I know the visitor side will have an overflow crowd. -
The key for Lumberton is... WIN AND YOUR IN! I wouldn't be worrying about the points. Both these teams had better not leave anything on the playing field. It will be the last football game for one team's group of seniors. You have really got to feel for the team that ends up on the low end of the scoreboard. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS... Remember... WIN AND YOUR IN! Bulldogs, you need to be thinking the score is zero to 10 when the game starts. A PN-G win really makes the points matter.

BRONCOS VS BULLDOGS HIGHLIGHTS
PURPLE 4EVER replied to PURPLE 4EVER's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It's a cool hobby to have, and with the internet now, I have the opportunity to share something I enjoy doing. To me it's all about the kids. I taught many of the players and other students involved in Friday night activities when they were in 8th grade and to see them grow up and learn how to handle adversity and winning is priceless. We are lucky in this part of the country to have high school football be as passionate as it it. It's not all about the football players either, the drill team, band, cheerleaders, twirlers, the lucky beautiful senior girl who is crowned queen of her town. To be able to capture these events in video and photography is priceless. The DVD I make for the kids this year will be just fantastic! Boy howdy, does it involve a lot of time, but when you are doing it for the kids it is all worth it. I hope all of you have enjoyed the videos (even if your team was on the wrong end of the scoreboard). At times I wish I could have two camera angles to get the highlights from both teams and make one district 22-4A video. That would be a cool dream to do one year. -
Good idea... Don't think the coaches would go for it.

Posted at [Hidden Content] I hope all of you have enjoyed my writings during the year. My web site usually has over 100 hits a day. This will be a tough week to predict all the winners. If Michael or I go a perfect 4 and 0 we should have a dinner bet or something. Four great games finish the season, all should be very competitive. DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 10 TOUPS GRAPHICS PREVIEWS Toups Graphics has accurately predicted the winners for the last three weeks! One more week in district then the playoffs start. Dayton and PNG are in, will it be Lumberton or Nederland that join them? GAME OF THE WEEK NEDERLAND AT LUMBERTON This game tops my list since it is basically an elimination game. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat will be apparent as the clock hits zero in this game. Will it be the Raiders celebrating on their homefield as the young men playing for Lumberton finally bring the playoffs to their school for the first time in history while the Bulldogs have a long bus trip home knowing they are the first team that has failed to bring the Bulldogs to the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. OR WILL IT BE... The Bulldogs celebrating on the Raiders field coming back to win their last game after being taken to the woodshed a week earlier on their homefield while the Raiders watch the Bulldogs celebrating and thinking that they came up just short again. Going 8 and 2 and being the only team in district to beat Dayton were just not enough to get in. You will have to really feel for the team that comes up short in this game. Big game at Dayton Friday. What is your guess to the attendance? Friday night Bronco Stadium will have more people in it than any city in Liberty or Chambers county... To all the PN-G fans... Travel safely to the game and back. Bronco Stadium will be a great venue for this game!

Playoff Bracket Prediction for Region III: AAAA
PURPLE 4EVER replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The last few years 22-4A just hasn't been able to get past the 2nd round. If they can... The brackets look favorable for the winners of the 2nd round games to get to the quarter finals. -
**PN-G vs. Galena Park Bi District Game At PN-G**
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Just curious... With so many teams getting into the district, for the 1st round the 4A schools and 5A schools may just have to flip home and home. There might not be any stadiums available to host the game at a neutral site. I know last year Dayton had Crosby at home for a playoff game. You would assume that the Division II teams may also flip home and home. What a night that would be for Lumberton, (if it all worked out). Getting into the playoffs for the first time ever then getting to host the game!
