4A DIV II PLAYOFF BRACKET
PURPLE 4EVER replied to PURPLE 4EVER's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I believe that's correct... I was just using one scenario with Dayton being the number 1 seed. You can all see it will make a difference where you are seated.j I think the harder game in the 2nd round will be playing Texas City. -

You got that right.... But the fact remains, the Broncos only loss has been to the hands of the Raiders. Guess some of the SETXSports Raider fans are still walking on the clouds after that victory. Just remember, the higher you are the harder you fall. A loss to Nederland will just be devestating to the Raiders. Back on topic.... Watched the game film again this morning and it is still overwhelming. That might be as good as a team can play. Almost every player for Dayton won every battle every play. Just an all around total win. ps.... The video is now at kfdm's site. -
Most important game next week
PURPLE 4EVER replied to Cardinal Supporter's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
In 22-4A it has to be the Nederland - Lumberton game. Something historic will happen. Nederland gets their long playoff streak snapped while Lumberton goes to the playoffs for the first time EVER, or the Bulldogs celebrate while Lumberton is gut punched falling just short of the playoffs after an 8 and 2 season and along the way they become the only team in 22-4A to beat Dayton. For sure, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat will be there as time expires. You really got to feel for the team that comes up just short. Deep down, I got to think Lumberton will want this game more. We shall see.... -
Kind of agree.... I saw the enthusiasm that Lumberton had when they beat Dayton, they really wanted the win. You know this week will be special in Lumberton, you got to figure the whole community, bussinesses and all, will be supporting the kids. Probably won't be so dramatic in Nederland. Lumberton will get an early CHRISTmas present if they pull this off. How devestating will it be to fall just short of a win... Will hurt for a long long time.
-
Kind of surprised no one has brought that up.... They started announcing seniors at 6:35ish.... They announced EVERYBODY! Not just the football players but the band, twirlers and drill team. Even the swim team and the golf team! Our cheerleaders hadn't arrived yet. They were announcing their cheerleaders at 7:00 when our football team ran in. We were standing in the endzone at least 10 minutes before we ran through. I guess the coaches thought it was 7 and that was supposed to be kick off time that they just ran through. If our cheerleaders had been there we would have run through the inflatable while they were being announced.

Located at... [Hidden Content] Didn't know who was division one in 23 and 24 4A, but... Currently 23 4A Texas City #1 Dickinson #2 LaMarque #3 (I believe Dickinson would be Div I, but aren't they the team that had to forfeit game ?) 24 4A Lamar Cons #1 El Camp #2 Bay City #3 I believe Lamar is Div I Looks like, lets say Dayton is top seed and Lumberton or Nederland is #2 seed... W21 Crosby versus R22 Lumb / Ned plays winner of W23 Texas City versus R24 Bay City and down below the bracket... R21 Smiley versus W21 Dayton plays winner of R23 La Marque versus W 24 El Campo Looks like the #1 seed of 22-4A will possibly getting LaMarque in the 2nd round while the #2 seed will be getting Texas City in the 2nd round. Does this look reasonable???

Even if PN-G is able to run against Dayton, can PN-G shut down the now AWEsome offense of the Broncos. Friday against Nederland, Greg Charles came into his own. Dayton's QB is finally starting to hit his receivers in stride on the long routes. PN-G's secondary WILL NOT be able to cover AJ and the other receivers. Even if PN-G scores 21 or 28 points look for the Broncos to match the scores. If any team struggles to score it will be PN-G. Dayton's defense is the CREAM OF THE CROP in this part of the state. Even PN-G has not been able to get a shut out in district. Dayton has done this 4 out of 5 times. Boy howdy... This will be an AWEsome game in Dayton's new stadium! Word of warning to the Indian fans.... There are only about 3,000 tickets to be had on the visitor side (after the band is seated). Buy your tickets early!!! Don't know if they will be selling SRO tickets ? ? ? Hopefully it will be a sell out with about 500 standing. There is plenty of standing room only spots on the east end of the stadium. CAN'T WAIT TILL FRIDAY! Will be a great football game to finish the season! -
Whichever way it goes the thrill of victory and agony of defeat will be there as time expires. Will it be... Lumberton celebrating their first ever post season appearance in the thrill of victory as the Bulldogs anguish in the agony of defeat knowing their playoff run has been TERMINATED and they end their season with one of the largest lopsided losses in school history then losing the season finale. or will it be.... The Bulldogs celebrating 12 consecutive years in the playoffs on the Raiders field while the Raiders come to realize that an 8 and 2 record and being the only team in district to get a win over the mighty Broncos just wasn't enough and the agony of defeat in not EVER going to the playoffs stings for another off season. It will be a very nervous week for the players, coaches, and fans of both teams as they realize that the loser will probably have their season TERMINATED.

Port Neches-Groves at Dayton Predictions

According to one post on another thread, the UIL considers any tie regardless of head to head to be settled as "co champs". The only scenario where there won't be a co champ is if PN-G wins. Any other scenario results in a tie for 1st which would be co champs. What I would like to know is an "official" ruling of seeding.... Does the UIL seed by point spread in a three way tie. This will change who Dayton and Lumberton play if Dayton and Lumberton win. If the point spread doesn't matter, then.... PN-G is Division I Lumberton beat Dayton so they get the 1st seed in Division II and play the 2nd seed from 21-4A Dayton will get the 2nd seed and play the 1st seed from 21-4A (probably Crosby). If..... They seed by point spread then.... Dayton would be #1 (they would probably win the point spread) PN-G would be #2 Lumberton would be #3 PN-G goes Divsion I Dayton would be the #1 seed in Division II and... Lumberton would be the #2 seed in Division II As previously stated I don't think it makes a difference in the first round, all three 22-4A "should" win over 21-4A, the 2nd round is what will be important. Does any one know where they are posting "preliminary" brackets???? -

If the Broncos can continue to play like the did against Nederland... They might go further than any other Bronco team.

NOW POSTED AT.... www.toupsgraphics.neptune.com I am in the process of posting them to hsgametime.com Check out the first clip. AMAZING one hand grab. -
Are currently getting reformated in WMV to place on the web. Features an unbelievable 1 hand TD catch by AJ. AJ carrying a wanna be Bulldog tackler 20 yards to the endzone! Several JACKED UP video clips. This was just a total all around victory for the Broncos! Will let you know when they are viewable. Should be in about 20 to 30 minutes. WAY TO GO BRONCOS!!! TOUPS GRAPHICS MVP.... DAYTON DEFENSE! Looking at the video, I don't think the Bulldogs ever crossed the 40 yard line!!!! An amazing performance!

I don't think the magic number is 10 I think it is 9. A Dayton win makes the Lumberton and Nederland game an elimination game. The winner is in the loser is out. Lumberton can still advance with a loss of less than 9 if PN-G beats Dayton. The point spreads with Nederland Dayton and Lumberton are.... Dayton has played both. -1 against Lumberton and +16 against Nederland (you only get credit for 16 points) Their sum is +15. (Dayton is in in a three way tie) Lumberton has +1 Nederland is -16 A 9 point Nederland win makes the points... Dayton +15 Nederland -16 + 9 = -7 Lumberton +1 - 9 = -8 An 8 point Nederland win makes the points Dayton +15 Lumberton +1 - 8 = -7 Nederland - 16 + 8 = -8 So...... With a PN-G win Lumberton starts the game with an 8 point "comfort zone". With a Dayton win, Lumberton MUST win to get in.

22-4A District Championship???
PURPLE 4EVER replied to Raider88's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
With Dayton and PN-G winning, it is impossible for Lumberton to be District champs. If Dayton wins and Lumberton wins it is a three way tie (a shared district champ). PN-G goes into division I Lumberton gets the 2nd seed since they beat Dayton. Dayton gets the 3rd seed. Haven't seen a projected bracket, but PN-G will be playing Galena Park. Lumberton will be playing the third seed and Dayton will be playing the #2 seed (which I believe will be Crosby). All three 22-4A teams "should" win the first round pretty handidly. The real question for Lumberton and Dayton will be who they get in the 2nd round. Last year Dayton had Texas City in round #2 so I believe the bracket has us playing La Marques district (if they win) in round #2. -
Dayton entered the Lumberton game very "knicked up". That is no excuse as you must play the game with what you have and on that night, Lumberton played good enough to stay in the game and take the win as time expired. Saying this, if we played Lumberton again, it would be a very very different game. Lumberton would not be able to use the same defensive game plan and the Bronco defense is much much better with all the athletes playing in the proper positions. Who is playing the best football right now in district 22-4A, it isn't even close, Dayton is playing much much better than any one. Four shut outs in five games. No one else can even come close to this. Nederland had about 70 yards of TOTAL offense. NO WAY NOW HOW CAN LUMBERTON REPEAT THAT DEFENSIVE PERFOMANCE!

Port Neches-Groves at Dayton Predictions
PURPLE 4EVER replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dayton pulled many of their offensive starters in the third quarter. Their last touchdown was a draw play up the middle by the third string running back. To score the touchdown he carried a wanna be Bulldog tackler 10 yards into the endzone. For practically the whole 4th quarter the Broncos ran one play, a quarterback sneak. They even took delay of game penalties on purpose. Don't talk about the Broncos not having class. When Neumann's Bulldog's pounded the Broncos years ago in the playoffs, there was no question on the Bulldogs class. As for my alma mater, you better watch out when you travel to Bronco Stadium. You are playing the team that has the greatest show on turf. A repeat performance by the Broncos will make for a long night for the Indians. Hopefull the Broncos will finally fill up the home side while PN-G has standing room only. The stadium seats about 8,500. If the Broncos can pack the home stands there could be over 9,000 people there, maybe more. For the thousand's of Indian fans that travel to Dayton, travel safe and get a ticket early! There are only about 3,000 tickets for fans after the band is seated. -
The FEARLESS PREDICTIONS are perfect once again... To also read my predictions go to... [Hidden Content] DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 6 TOUPS GRAPHICS RESULTS Toups Graphics has accurately predicted the winners for the last three weeks! One more week in district then the playoffs start. Dayton and PNG are in, will it be Lumberton or Nederland that join them? GAME OF THE WEEK DAYTON AT NEDERLAND TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION BRONCOS 30 BULLDOGS 14 *****************THE RESULT************** BRONCOS 63 - BULLDOGS 0 Talk about a dream come true for a PN-G grad! Watching a purple and white team just destroy the Bulldogs was heavenly. Coach Stewart handed me my birthday present early with this win! Dayton played the best game of the year, maybe the best overall performance of any team that Coach Stewart has coached at Dayton. Nederland never crossed the 50 yard line and only had four first downs, while the Bronco offense churned out over 500 yards. Twenty eight points were scored by the Broncos in the third quarter alone! CENTRAL AT PN-G TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION INDIANS 28 CENTRAL 7 ******************** THE RESULT ***************** INDIANS 48 CENTRAL 21 The Indians take care of business in their last game at the Reservation. The echoes of Cherokee could be heard over the city limits as the Indians roll over the Jaguars. The Indians remain perfect in district and seal up a playoff spot. As for the Jaguars, this is their fourth loss in district play. A team once thought to battle for the district championship has gone 0 and 4 against PN-G, Dayton, Lumberton, and Nederland. Losing to cross town Ozen is not the way the Jaguars want to end the season. LUMBERTON AT LC-M TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION RAIDERS 35 LC-M 14 ******************** THE RESULT ***************** RAIDERS 21 LC-M 13 Not an impressive win on the score board, but all that matters is that the Raiders go into the last week of the season knowing that if they win they advance to the playoffs for the first time EVER! The Raiders fail to rack up the predicted 35 points, but they do hold LC-M to the predicted two touchdowns. This is a season for the Bears that they will soon want to forget. At the beginning of the season they were predicted by many to be in the battle for a playoff spot. Losing next week will put the BOJO battle cry in the cellar. VIDOR AT OZEN TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION PANTHERS 21 PIRATES 7 ******************** THE RESULT ***************** INDIANS 48 CENTRAL 21 Toups Graphics is one touchdown short on both sides in his prediction. Ozen wins at Cardinal Stadium while the Black Pearl continues to put on water. The Panthers are ending the season playing their best ball. After getting blanked by the Broncos they have played four solid games. Beating the Jaguars next week would be a great way for the Panthers to go into the offseason. Meanwhile, the Pirates will battle their winless counterparts for the battle of Orange county. That battle will be for who doesn't want to be in the cellar. TOUPS GRAPHICS HAS A 36 AND 12 PREDICTION RECORD
