  1. If PN-G would have played the "pansy" "JV" predistrict schedule Lumberton had, they might have been rated higher. Ratings don't matter now. All that matters is that in three more Friday's you are in the top 3 in district.
  2. Vidor has the best tunnel.
  3. It's called TAKS and higher requirements for graduation. Dayton has around 400 freshmen every year, but they graduate around 300. These numbers are very very average in school districts with similar types of students. As an 8th grade teacher it just pains me to see kids who get to 8th grade that are way behind in their math skills. The odds of them getting through their 11th grade TAKS test is really not good. Kids that fluff off their education before and during 8th grade are setting themselves up for a very long road in life. Back to the topic of the thread... Merging schools is just not right. Look at what has happened in Beaumont. West Brook is overall a success story, but look at what has been lost, not just in Beaumont but in Port Arthur... The PN-G vs TJ games are history. Lincoln is gone. SFA water under the bridge. French, South Park, Hebert, BCP, all TERMINATED. It is just ashame these schools are gone, then you wonder why many of the schools lack the tradition and overall student pride for their schools. It is a great thing PN-G and Nederland have held their own. WO-S too... Dayton's Coach Stewart is doing a great job buidling an athletic program for the boys and girls from the junior high up. The kids in the elementaries in Dayton just can't wait until it's thier turn to be a Bronco. This builds pride in your schools which in turn improves the academic environment. By merging schools, you are just ending what decades of tradition have built up. I believe you should do whatever it takes to turn the schools around and keep what is in place.
  4. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS IN 22-4A! Will their be an upset in the air this week, or will the top four put more distance between them and their pursuers? The previews are copied below... They can also be read at... [Hidden Content] Don't forget to check out Dayton Bronco highlights at.... www.toupsgraphics.neptune.com and... at HSGAMETIME.COM [Hidden Content] Now then, for your reading enjoyment... DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 5 TOUPS GRAPHICS PREVIEWS After 4 weeks of competition there are four teams left with one loss or less. PN-G sets on top with two big victories over previously undefeated Nederland and Lumberton. One more win might be all it takes to get PN-G into the post season. Lumberton is the only team that has notched wins over last years district champs, Dayton, and runner up, Central. Having lost their first game of the season at the Reservation, how will they rebound this week? Nederland has only lost to PN-G and has notched a win over Central. They still have Lumberton and Dayton left. Can the Bulldogs win at least two out of three and hope things fall in place for their playoff streak to continue? Dayton lost it's first game in district to the resurgent Raiders in week 1, but since then they have stampeded through the competition like no other team in district has. Do the Broncos have enough to win out against Central, Nederland, and PN-G? This week features these four teams battling the four teams with two or more losses. Will one of the four underdogs break through and TERMINATE their opposition's play off dreams? The weekly previews follow. GAME OF THE WEEK CENTRAL AT DAYTON How things can change quickly. At the beginning of the season many people had this game as being the deciding factor to see who gets the district championship. In the first week of district the Raiders shocked the Broncos with their first district loss, then Central gets upended by the Bulldogs and the Raiders. A Dayton win will TERMINATE any chance the Jaguars have left to get to the playoffs. A Jaguar win will put a huge road block in the way of the Broncos. The Broncos have looked AWEsome during the last three weeks with their back up QB. Can the Bronco offense keep churning up the points against a much quicker Jaguar defense? Who will win? Check back Thursday for... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION OZEN AT LUMBERTON The Raiders are coming off their first loss of the season. After getting blown out against the Broncos, Ozen beat LC-M then was leading the Bulldogs at halft and was within three points at in the fourth quarter. Can the Panthers reach deep down and give the Raiders their second set back of the season? Will the Raiders rebound after the defeat at the Reservation? Who will win? Check back Thursday for... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION LC-M AT NEDERLAND The Bears were picked by many to finish with a chance of being a playoff team. They are still searching for their first district win. Last week the Bears were stampeded by the Broncos, and now they travel to Bulldog stadium. Nederland knows they can ill afford one more loss. Who will win??? Check back Thursday for.... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION PN-G AT VIDOR The Pirates are playing the Indians on homecoming. Will they be able to pull out a victory for the alumni? Will they bail out the Black Pearl and get their ship sailing again? Last week they almost stunned the Jaguars. The Indians are coming off two huge victories having ended the Bulldogs and the Raiders perfect seasons. Will the most played song at the Pirate's homecoming be Cherokee? Will the beating drums continue to signal another Indian victory? Who will win.... Check back Thursday for...... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION TOUPS GRAPHICS HAS A 28 AND 12 PREDICTION RECORD
  5. For a this three way tie scenario to occur, PN-G would have to lose two more games. It is possible, but not probable.
  6. If Nederland does go into Lumberton at 4 and 2, then they beat Lumberton, Lumberton and Nederland both end the year at 5 and 2. If PN-G and Dayton both finish 6 and 1, then Nederland is in the playoffs and Lumberton in out.
  7. I sure would have tried to score. You just don't how this is going to end up. I sure do feel like there will be a three way tie involved somehow between three of the top four teams. If the tie is for 2nd and 3rd then the lowest point spread total is out of the playoffs.
  8. Lets say.... PN-G, Lumberton, and Dayton all end up at 6 and 1. And lets say Dayton beats PN-G by 5 points. The point spread would be.... Dayton +4, PN-G +2, and Lumberton -6. But according to tvc, the big school is automatically division I champs, which would be PN-G. Would it then be Lumberton #2 and Dayton #3 since Lumberton has the head to head over Dayton? That would change who Dayton and Lumberton play in the first round, but would not alter PN-G's.
  9. Didn't include that information, but in the Vidor PN-G thread, a post had PN-G getting in even with a loss to Vidor, my "theory" would have PN-G losing to either Vidor or Central to end up 5 and 2.
  10. Would have probably helped having a good math teacher as an assistant coach. This will be a very interesting last three weeks. Good luck to all the teams.
  11. My scenario would have PN-G losing to either Vidor or Central. The previous post said that PN-G could lost to Vidor then win one of two and get in. That is not the case if they lost to either Vidor or Central and get beat by more than 14 against the Broncos.
  12. With a three way tie breaker becoming a very good probability after week 10, if you were Burnett would you have tried to score at the end of the Lumberton game after you got the ball back after Lumberton failed to convert on 4th down. I think they were around the 11 yard line. Check out this scenario in another thread... What if.... Nederland wins out... They finish 6 and 1 and are district champs. Dayton loses to Nederland but beats Central and PN-G Lumberton loses it's last game to Nederland and finishes 5 and 2. Then.... Nederland is 6 and 1 PN-G is 5 and 2 Dayton is 5 and 2 Lumberton is 5 and 2 Then it is a three way tie for 2nd.... Dayton has played Lumberton and lost 8 to 7 PN-G beat Lumberton 31 to 24 Lumberton is finished with the head to head. There points would be +1 with Dayton and -7 with PN-G for a sum of -6. PN-G has +7 Dayton has -1 If Dayton wins by more than 14 PN-G would be eliminated. +7 -14 = -7 If PN-G wins by 6 or more then Dayton is eliminated. -1 -6 = -7 Lumberton is eliminated if the game is between a 13 point Dayton win and a 5 point PN-G win. If PN-G could have tacked on another TD or even another field goal that would have put Lumberton at -9 or -14. PN-G could then lose and get crushed by Dayton because the point spread stops at a 16 point victory. Listening to the game on the radio coming back from LC-M I was thinking they should score, but they killed the clock. It would be horrible for PN-G to get beat by more than 14 points and get eliminated when they could have tacked on at least a field goal at the end of the Lumberton game. It would also have helped out the Broncos for PN-G to score since it would have lowered Lumberton's score. If you were Burnett??? Would you have at least tried to score again?
  13. The Broncos are making it very very easy for me to get some AWEsome highlight clips. Each game has produced more and more. Look out Jaguars, Bulldogs, and Indians. You have yet to play the best team on your schedule. (with exception of PN-G and LaMarque).
  14. WOW... The math makes your head spin.... I like it, being a math teacher (MATH GIVES YOU MORE POWER!) Of course all of this is for not, if Vidor, Ozen, Central, or LC-M win this week. The loser of that game (except PN-G) would most likely have their playoff dreams TERMINATED!
  15. Lots of good Bronco highlights in this video. Let me know what you think. It can be viewed at.... www.toupsgraphics.neptune.com In the game highlights album. At hsgametime.com the video can be viewed at... [Hidden Content] It will also be at KFDM.com site once it has been reviewed. Will probably be posted tomorrow. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS THIS WEEK! Just for fun.... The top four teams (standings wise) in district 22-4A are playing the bottom four this week. What game will be closest? Central at Dayton LC-M at Nederland Ozen at Lumberton PN-G at Vidor I say.... Ozen gives Lumberton all they want. Last week Ozen was within three of Nederland in the 4th quarter. Can they give Lumberton a good game? ps... Enjoy the video...
  16. Interesting to see the team from 22-4A that is on top of the list....
  17. Central, Nederland, and PN-G fans.... Look what is coming your way in the next few weeks... Dayton Bronco vs LC-M highlights now viewable at... www.toupsgraphics.neptune.com [Hidden Content] Check out the down field block by John Gable in the first clip! Comparing some scores.... Dayton 49 LC-M 13 Central 17 LC-M 10 PN-G 41 LC-M 13 Dayton 33 Ozen 0 PN-G 21 Ozen 19 Nederland 31 Ozen 14 Dayton 40 Vidor 0 Nederland 28 Vidor 7 Lumberton 33 Vidor 14 Central 34 Vidor 28 Dayton has stampeded through the same competition in a more "formidable" fashion than there last three opponents. It sure does look like it is setting up for two AWEsome games in the last week of the year. PN-G at Dayton for 1st place Nederland at Lumberton for 3rd place ps.... Last week HSGAMETIME.COM selected the punt return by Ford Smesny as their highlight of the week!!! Way to go district 22-4A!!!
  18. Correct Raidernation... A win by LCM, Vidor or Ozen could make things even more interesting. Last night Ozen was within three points of Nederland in the 4th quarter, and Vidor nearly beat Central.
  19. Lumberton's L-Train is now the choo choo train in school house rock with the Conjuction Junction man running the show.... Cunjuction Junction whats your function.... Linking up excuses like and, but, and or.... AND - If we didn't get run over by that Indian AND that Indian BUT - We may have lost to the Tribe, BUT we beat the Broncos (not saying anything about the Broncos playing with a 3rd string QB and having to wait till the last minute to finally find pay dirt) OR - We can't lose one more game OR our season may be over (a loss to the Bulldogs and the Raiders play off chances could be TERMINATED)
  20. It goes down to the point differences in the shared three games.... Currently Dayton is -1 with a loss to Lumberton Lumbertons is +1 with a win over Dayton Nederland hasn't played either. You can only get credit for only 16 points in a blow out... So.... Lets say... Dayton beats Nederland 28 - 21 (Dayton +7, Nederland -7) Nederland beats Lumberton 24 - 21 (Nederland +3, Lumberton -3) The sum of the point differences would be.... Dayton -1 +7 = +6 Lumberton +1 -3 = -2 Nederland -7 +3 = -4 Dayton would get 2nd and Lumberton would get third. With Lumberton's 1 point victory over Dayton, Lumberton better hope Dayton doesn't beat PN-G and Nederland by over a TD or it won't bod well in the tie breaker. Listening to the PN-G Lumberton game on the way home, I was surprised PN-G didn't try to get a TD at the end. You never know if it comes down to a three way tie and the points are the determining factor. It was a class act to kill the clock by their endzone, but the extra 7 points are huge in a tie breaker. It could also come down to a three way tie for first.... PN-G, Lumberton, and Dayton could all be 6 and 1. In that case.... PN-G 31 Lumberton 24 (PN-G +7, Lumberton -7) Lumberton 8 Dayton 7 (Lumberton +1, Dayton -1) Lumberton has a point standing of -6 Lets say the PN-G Dayton score ends up being 21 - 14 with a Bronco Win. The points would be.... Dayton -1 +7 = +6 PN-G +7 -7 = 0 Lumberton +1 -7 = -6 Dayton is district champs, PN-G is runner up and Lumberton would be third. ps.... Dayton has won their last three games with their 2nd string QB by at least 5 touchdowns.
  21. "Lumberton will run the table" TERMINATED! Lumberton must feel like the Cunjuction Junction man on school house rock.... BUT, if our guys didn't get run over by the Indians AND, we still beat Dayton (not saying anything about Dayton playing with a third string QB and having to wait till the last 1 minute to FINALLY find paydirt with the winning TD) OR, Lordy Lordy, I hope we can beat Nederland, if not, our playoff dreams are TERMINATED
  22. PLAYOFF CHANCES..... PN-G - outstanding (can even lose one game and still get to the show) Lumberton - great (it is looking like their last game against Nederland will be for all the marbles. Win their last three and the Raiders go to the play offs for the first time EVER) Dayton - good (Dayton is playing ball better than any team in the district. The Broncos are destroying the competition. Their last three victories have all been over a five touchdown difference. If Dayton runs the table and wins out, they will probably repeat as district champions) Nederland - good (two bigs games for the Bulldogs, home against the Broncos and then they travel north of Pine Island Bayou to take on the Raiders. The Bulldogs can survive a defeat by the Broncos if they can take out Lumberton in the last week) Central - low (The Jaguars barely squeeked by the Pirates. After their trip to Dayton this Friday their play off chances will be terminated. Even if they pull of an upset they still have PN-G left. The Jaguars are not playing good enough to win both those games. Last years runner ups will be playing basketball and lifting weights in three more Saturdays.) Ozen, LC-M, and Vidor - zero - their playoff chances are gone, but that doesn't mean they can impact the playoff race. A win by one of these teams over the top four will be HUGE! Can Ozen take out Lumberton this week, or can the Pirates win homecoming over the Indians?
  23. What an unbelievable Friday night to be wearing Purple in 22-4A!!!! The Broncos roll and the Indians derail the L-Train. Toups Graphics goes 4 and 0 this week was some very powerful "MOJO" like predictions. My results are also posted at..... [Hidden Content] The results are copied below... DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 4 TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTIONS TOUPS GRAPHICS GOES 4 AND 0 THIS WEEK WITH SOME VERY ACCURATE PREDICTIONS Prediction PN-G 31 Lumberton 14 Result PN-G 31 Lumberton 24 Prediction Dayton 35 LC-M 0 Result Dayton 49 LC-M 14 Prediction Nederland 24 Ozen 14 Result Nederland 34 Ozen 14 Prediction Central 28 Vidor 7 Result Central 34 Vidor 28 The summaries are below GAME OF THE WEEK LUMBERTON AT PN-G THE PREDICTION What a game this will be. Over 10,000 people watching two teams battle for first place in 22-4A. The winner stands alone at the top of 22-4A as the only undefeated team left, and with only three games left, one out of three might be good enough to make the playoffs. The loser could be in a position where another lose could eliminate them from the post season. What will happen at the Reservation this Friday. The Raiders defensive line will finally meet their match as a finely tuned PN-G running game dominates the clock. Lumberton's offense won't be able to score enough to keep pace. PN-G has a long 4th quarter drive that uses a lot of clock and clinches the win. PN-G wins by two touchdowns while Cherokee is heard from the Sabine to the Trinity. The Raiders cross Pine Island Bayou on the way home with their undefeated season being terminated. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION PN-G 31 LUMBERTON 14 *********************THE RESULT******************** PN-G 31 LUMBERTON 24 The L-Train won't be able to go down the tracks through midcounty this year. Toups Graphics gets the PN-G score exactly correct, but the Raiders were able to get 24 points. It must have been an outstanding game in front of over 12,000 football fans at the Reservation. Congrats to the 1st Place Indians. Good luck to the Raiders, unfortunately for the Raiders, the same tracks that go through PN-G also go through Nederland. DAYTON AT LC-M THE PREDICTION The Bronco's have posted two shut outs in a row. After Friday night, make it three straight shut outs. LC-M's season continues the spiral downward spin as the Broncos enter into their final three big games with tons of confidence. The Broncos roll to another big win this Friday. If the Broncos can make all their PAT's then the final score will be... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION DAYTON 35 LC-M 0 *********************THE RESULT******************** DAYTON 49 LC-M 14 The Broncos don't get their third straight shut out, but Toups Graphics accurately predicts a five touchdown victory. The Broncos are primed and ready to end their season with three great games, Central, at Nederland, and the grand finale with the Indians visiting Bronco Stadium. As for the Bears, their playoff chances are now terminated, can they avoid the cellar? NEDERLAND AT OZEN THE PREDICTION The Bulldgos travel to Cardinal Stadium to battle the Panthers who are coming off a big win over the Bears. The Bulldogs will play just good enough to overcome a fierce battle from the Panthers. Late penalties by the Panthers kill their last two drives while Nederland scores once in the 4th quarter to seal the win. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION NEDERLAND 24 OZEN 14 *********************THE RESULT******************** NEDERLAND 31 OZEN 14 The The MOJO was flowing in Toups Graphics this week. Ozen gave the Bulldogs all they wanted. A late score by Nederland sealed the win. Can Ozen back this game up with another great game against the L-Train? VIDOR AT CENTRAL The Pirates visit Central seeking their first district win. Central is reeling after two straight loses. The Jaguars backs are to the wall, one more loss and their post season chances are doomed. The Jaguars put together a good game and keep the Pirates still searching for that initial win. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION CENTRAL 28 VIDOR 7 *********************THE RESULT******************** CENTRAL 34 VIDOR 28 The Pirates almost bailed out the Black Pearl and had it sailing at full mast. Central just squeeks by and keeps the Pirates winless. Looks like it will be a long night next week for the Jaguars as the Broncos dismantled the PIrates 33 - 0. The Pirates finish with PN-G, Ozen, and LC-M. Can they get one win? TOUPS GRAPHICS HAS A 28 AND 12 PREDICTION RECORD I am about to start editing the game video... Highlights will be posted in about three hours (around noon).
  24. Dayton's last three games they have scored.... 33, 41, and 49... Can they get eight touchdowns against Central??? Central barely beat the Pirates.... Look for the Broncos to get another big W this Friday in Dayton and terminate the Jaguars playoff hopes.
  25. Way to go INDIANS! Must have been great to see Hemmings blast through the L Train defense for 148 yards! Good luck to Lumberton in the rest of their games. Should be an interesting last three weeks.
