BRONCO VS PIRATE HIGHLIGHTS
PURPLE 4EVER replied to PURPLE 4EVER's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Honestly... I thought Vidor played a better game than Ozen. Dayton just got a lot better with one more week of practice for the QB. If the players from Vidor don't give up, they will get a win this year. Good luck to the Pirates! -
Now viewable at... www.toupsgraphics.neptune.com Of notable interest... The first video clip is just AWEsome! Gable gets a TD on a sweep left (right at the camera man). As he crosses the goal line you will see a text book "pancake" of the defender trying to tackle him. Right in front of the camera man! What a collision! Also on the clips check out the goal line stand (gm 06 def goal line stand). Vidor got the ball off a fumbled punt reception inside the Dayton 10 yard line. With first and goal the Pirates couldn't punch it in. All three plays are on the video. On 4th down they go for a field goal and it is blocked, preserving the shut out. AJ Dugat had a great game as well as Greg Charles the QB. Both had great highlights. Hope you enjoy the videos. Good luck to all the teams next week. Play hard and end the games injury free! What a great Saturday to be wearing Purple! The Broncos roll and the Indians put the Dogs back into the pound!

Dayton 40 Vidor 0 Final/Comments

COMPLAINERS SOON BECOME THE COMPLAINT OF OTHERS! Start believing in the kids instead of gripping. Positive thoughts produce positive outcomes. " I was embarrassed for the team, the coaches and the fans. It was truly a sad situation." I am sure the coaches and the players are "embarrassed" to have fans like this. The players were out there doing there very best. -
Seriously, what are the rules following a three way tie for first? If PN-G, Dayton, and Lumberton all finish 6 and 1, will there be a Waffle House coin toss, or do they go on point spreads in head to head competition?
-
Lumberton's front seven is AWEsome. They did a great job against the Broncos. Will be interesting to see if PN-G can protect the QB and have him throw the ball down the field and test the Lumberton secondary. Lumberton's offense against Dayton wasn't very impressive, but they did get the score when they needed it. This will be a great game. The game will be decided in the trenches.

Was Harry Potters catch shown on the Jumbo Tron? How sweet it is! Cherokee playing in victory at Bulldgog Stadium. Must have been music to the ears for all the Bulldog fans! I N D I A N S SCALP EM INDIANS SCALP EM!
-
I can't wait to see the Bronco highlights on the jumbo tron! Just wondering Indian fans, how were the Indian TD replays on the jumbotron? Must have been twice as sweet seeing the Indians score again.

Mathews right man for the job
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
What you just saw is how much different Dayton is with AJ at receiver. Lumberton did an excellent job containing him at QB, if AJ were at the receiver position, I really think the game would have a different outcome. As for Vidor, people need to realize that the coaches can not go out and recruit their players, they have what they have and they need to do their best. A team's talent goes in cycles. Just ask any Bulldog fan what it was like from 1965 to 1984. Now Nederland is in a good talent cycle and will be a force for years to come (from what I am reading about their junior high squads). PN-G had a down time for about a decade in the 80's and 90's, now they are in an up cycle. Look at Lumberton, they have had little talent for years and years, and now they have a group of kids playing that are just plain AWEsome. Before Stewart came to Dayton, there was little talent there, Stewart has AWEsome coaches from 7th grade up. Dayton's junior high teams seldom if ever lose. The kids go to high school expecting to be winners. Vidor has a great coach in Mathews, the city needs to stand behind him and start building the football program from junior high up. As for the game last night, Dayton just had better talent at almost every position. In the 2nd half you just see the result of this, big plays on offense and a defense that just got more dominating. -
Dayton at Little Cypress-Mauriceville Predictions
PURPLE 4EVER replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
LC-M is still looking for their first district win. That won't change after Friday. After the Lumberton loss, Dayton was very fortunate to have their schedule be Ozen, Vidor, and LC-M. Dayton has their offense working now, and could very possibly go through these three games posting three straight shut outs. The Broncos will be primed and ready going into their big three last games versus Central, Nederland, and PN-G. -
I believe two losses now and you are out. Lumberton has the best chance of going undefeated. I see them splitting with PN-G and Nederland. Lumberton is very very lucky they were playing Dayton with AJ as QB. Dayton's offense is now firing on all cylinders, and their defense is getting better every game. Vidor scored 14 on Lumberton, but was shut out against Dayton. I really don't see Dayton losing again. Nederland at least has Central out of the way, but they end the season playing Dayton and Lumberton. Odds are they don't win both. PN-G finishes with Central and then goes to Dayton. Central may be totally out of the playoffs by then, will they put up a battle at the Reservation knowing they are playing for pride. I see that in the last week the PN-G at Dayton game will be for the title, and the Lumberton at Nederland game will be the third spot. Just wondering... If.... Dayton runs the table and finishes 6 and 1. PN-G loses at Dayton the last game and finishes 6 and 1. Lumberton loses to PN-G and wins out finishing at 6 and 1. What happens? Do they go on point spreads to determine #1, #2, and #3. If so.... Lumberton is at a disadvantage only beating Dayton by 1. Obviously Lumberton still has PN-G to play and Dayton plays the Indians last. Will be very interesting.

I think all the Bulldog fans are pulling out the arrows from the backside. Great win for the Tribe, even sweeter to do it on the Bulldogs homefield! -
The hardest stadium to go into and get a win is the Reservation. Look for a packed homeside, over 7,500 Indians singing Cherokee over and over. Lumberton has a very very good team. Lumberton's defensive front seven is just plain good. Will be tough for PN-G to get 200 plus yards rushing in this one. I think the turnover battle wins it. Also... This game may come down to fieldgoals. I wonder who has the best kicker. A long field goal at the end of the game just might be the difference.

Two weeks couldn't have gone by slower.... At least while I was on my furlough, the Broncos are returning to true form, and HOW ABOUT THEM INDIANS!!! The purple blood in PURPLE 4EVER is just boiling hot! A great week for the teams wearing Purple! Now then... Find copied below my summaries of week 3 action. They are also viewable at... [Hidden Content] DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 3 TOUPS GRAPHICS RESULTS Toups Graphics dissapoints his readers going only 1 and 3 this week. Big wins by the Tribe, L-Train, and finally the Panthers getting a win set the tone for the Friday of upsets. Toups Graphics does accurately predict the Broncos 6 touchdown shut out over Vidor, but fails to predict the winner in the other three games. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION NEDERLAND 24 PN-G 21 ******************THE RESULT******************** This is one prediction I am glad that is wrong. Way to go Indians! I should have never predicted against my alma mater. Yet another great game in this decades long series. PN-G's win coupled with the Raiders victory over the Jaguars will set up the game that will probably determine the district championship next week at the Reservation. As for Nederland, another year in which they may make the playoffs but fall short of a district championship. Just wondering if the Indian celebration on the middle of Bulldog stadium after the game was put up on the new scoreboard jumbotron? FINAL SCORE PN-G 28 NEDERLAND 16 TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION CENTRAL 14 LUMBERTON 7 ******************THE RESULT******************** The Raiders are rolling through district 22-4A. Another huge win at Lumberton stadium. The Raiders don't just squeek by the Jaguars, they take them to the L-Train woodshed. It is looking more and more like the Raiders will finally make the playoffs. The Jaguars still have to travel to Dayton and PN-G. One more loss and the Jaguars playoff chances are toast. FINAL SCORE LUMBERTON 35 CENTRAL 14 TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION DAYTON 42 VIDOR 0 ******************THE RESULT******************** Toups Graphics accurately predicts the 6 touchdown shut out. The Broncos offense is firing at full speed on all cylinders as the defense posts their 2nd straight shut out. Two solid victories since their defeat at Lumberton puts Dayton back into the playoff picture. Next week the Pirates take on the Jaguars. An upset win over the Jaguars will put their post season dreams out of reach. FINAL SCORE DAYTON 40 VIDOR 0 TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION LC-M 21 OZEN 7 ******************THE RESULT******************** The Panthers go into the Bears din and come out with a huge victory. Can the Panthers go from skinning Bears this week to putting the Bulldogs into the dog pound. The Bears don't have much hide left after getting skinned by the Indians last week and then losing at home to the Panthers. FINAL SCORE OZEN 25 LC-M 22 Looking Ahead... There are now four teams with only one loss or less in 22-4A. Lumberton is the only team to notch wins over last years top two teams. PN-G hosts the Raiders this week in a game that could determine the district championship. The Bulldogs taste defeat for the first time at the hands of their arch rivals. They will host the Broncos then the Raiders to finish the season. Losing both of those games will end the Bulldogs playoff streak. The Broncos have their second string QB back, and with their arsenal of receivers, it will be tough to beat the Broncos. Looking way ahead... If the Broncos win out and PN-G wins out, it sets up the game to possibly determine the district championship at Bronco stadium in the regular season finale. TOUPS GRAPHICS HAS A 24 AND 12 PREDICTION RECORD

Previously posted on my prediction thread... Friday at Bulldog Stadium. There will be about 8 to 10 dozen young men playing in one of the greatest environments that a high school athlete can play in. Other schools may have big rivalries, but nothing, repeat nothing compares to the emotions and enthusiasm that this game and the week build up to it has. You just don't understand this unless you have lived through it and have experienced it. No other rival game in Southeast Texas is played in front of as many people or has been played for as many years as this one. Friday Night Lights is all about the young men playing the best they can play, being motivated to play to their very best level by their coaches, and in this game the 6,000 plus fans on either side who are lucky enough to have a ticket. When it is all said and done the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat will be apparent on the field Friday night at Bulldog Stadium. We would all be wise to remember that winning builds confidence and losing builds character, a true champion needs both to be successful. The last three years the Bulldogs have gained confidence while the Indians have been working on the character part. In the end all the young men playing are champions, win or lose. They are playing for their teammates, their coaches, their school, and their communities in perhaps the greatest night of football in their lifes. Good luck to both sides. May the game be one for the ages and end with no one being hurt.

Summarizing the the 2 predictors of SETXSPORTS.COM for 22-4a.... GAME OF THE WEEK Myers Nederland 34 PN-G 21 Toups Graphics Nederland 24 PN-G 21 Both agree on 3 touchdowns for PN-G and a little more for Nederland. Should be a great game in front of thousands and thousands of high school football fans! Myers Central 21, Lumberton 20 Toups Graphics Central 14 Lumberton 7 Both predict a close game with the Jaguars putting the first blemish on the Raiders perfect record, I think the defenses dominate this game resulting in the lower score. Myers Dayton 31, Vidor 14 Toups Graphics Dayton 42 Vidor 0 Both predict a big win for the Broncos. Toups Graphics sees the Dayton defense putting up another shut out. Myers LC-M 24, Ozen 13 Toups Graphics LC-M 21 Ozen 7 Both predict around a 2 touchdown win for the Bears. Looks like all the picks are in agreement... Using the math the point spreads would be.... Nederland +8 over PN-G Central +4 over Lumberton Dayton +29 over Vidor LC-M +12.5 over Ozen Just for fun..... What game would be the most secure bet... Dayton is spotting Vidor 29 points, or would you say Central beats Lumberton by more than 4, or the Bulldogs winning by more than a touchdown. Can LC-M spot the Panthers 12.5 and take the game??? I would take.... PN-G + 8 at Nederland. I see this being less than a touchdown difference. Dayton - 29 over Vidor. The Broncos roll tomorrow night and win big Central -4 over Lumberton. I think the Jaguars win by one TD. LC-M -12.5 over Ozen. I see the Bears winning by at least 2 touchdowns. Have fun with the point spreads! What say the SETX fans? 24 HOURS TILL KICK OFF!!!

By request of KFDM COOP... ONLY 48 HOURS OF MY NO POST PLEDGE LEFT!!! Before I post my predictions I would like to add some words on what will happen this Friday at Bulldog Stadium. There will be about 8 to 10 dozen young men playing in one of the greatest environments that a high school athlete can play in. Other schools may have big rivalries, but nothing, repeat nothing compares to the emotions and enthusiasm that this game and the week build up to it has. May the game be one for the ages and end with no one being hurt. Hopefully I will hear the tunes of Cherokee being played all the way in Dayton Friday night Now then... My FEARLESS PREDICTIONS!!! They are also online at... [Hidden Content] DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 3 TOUPS GRAPHICS PREVIEWS GAME OF THE WEEK PN-G AT NEDERLAND This will be the game of the year in south east Texas. Bulldog Stadium will be the place to be this Friday night. Over 15,000 people will make this game have a college like atmosphere. Toups Graphics sees a close game all the way to the 4th quarter. The team making a mistake late will lose the game. All the advantages seem to belong to the Bulldogs, a coach with a winning record in this series, homefield advantage, and an undefeated season on the line. Look for the Bulldogs to pull out the game in the end and extend their winning streak to 4 years. Next year at PNG there will not be one student on the football team that will have seen the Indians beat the Bulldogs while in high school. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION NEDERLAND 24 PN-G 21 CENTRAL AT LUMBERTON The Raiders are 5 and 0 and will host the Jaguars who just came off a defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. A loss for the Jaguars will be almost lethal to their playoff chances. If Central commits more than three turnovers look for the Raiders to go 6 and 0. Toups Graphics predicts that the Jaguars will lay everything on the field Friday night and barely squeek by the Raiders. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION CENTRAL 14 LUMBERTON 7 VIDOR AT DAYTON The Broncos have given up 8 points in two games in district play. After the game Friday look for them to still have given up only eight points. The Broncos defense will put 8 players in the box and shut down the one dimensional Pirate offense. Meanwhile the Bronco offense will be running on 91 octane fuel as they cruise to touchdown after touchdown. Another big blowout will occur at Bronco stadium. The horse song will be heard down HWY 146 in Barbers Hill Friday as the Broncos roll to a 2 and 1 district record. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION DAYTON 42 VIDOR 0 OZEN AT LC-M Last week the Bears where skinned at the Reservation while the Panthers were being stomped by the Broncos. Who will get the growl back Friday night at LC-M. Toups Graphics predicts the Bears win and keep the Panthers winless in district. Look for the Bears to get a big win this week. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION LC-M 21 OZEN 7 TOUPS GRAPHICS HAS A 23 AND 9 PREDICTION RECORD Good luck to all the players and their coaches this Friday night! Some of these young men will only have 4 games left after Friday, make every moment on the field something to remember! God Bless and until after the games on Friday... Adios...

Look at the 2nd to last video clip in the GM 05 HLTS album... The ball is muffed and he gets position of the ball back around the 3 yard line. Looking at the rule, it was the correct call. Just wondering.... If the fair catch would have been at the 5 yard line, the ball "muffed", and then the player gets position in the endzone and tries to return the ball... Would it be a safety? I would say... The ball is automatically dead when he recovers it in the endzone which would make it a touch back. The delay of game penalty would occur from the 20 yard line so the ball would be placed on the 15. Would this be the correct call? -
By request of KFDM coop... My week 3 previews... Check back Thursday for the "FEARLESS PREDICTIONS". This could be the biggest week this year in 22-4A. Can Nederland make it through MCM undefeated? Can PNG end the Bulldog's three year winning streak? Can Lumberton be the first team to knock out the #1 and #2 teams from last year? Can Central play mistake free ball and tag the Raiders with their first loss? Can LC-M get their first district win, or will the Panthers rise to the ocassion and keep the Bears winless in district? Can the Broncos keep their offense super charged while the defense goes for their second shut out in a row? Can the Pirates bail out all the water from their sinking Black Pearl? What a Friday night this will be!!! Will try to get some new images on my website... [Hidden Content] Now for my previews... DISTRICT 22-4A WEEK 3 TOUPS GRAPHICS PREVIEWS GAME OF THE WEEK PN-G AT NEDERLAND This game is what Friday Night Lights is all about. If you are lucky enough to have a ticket to this game you will witness a classic game in this decades old series. This could be the first time in since 1954 to 1958 that Nederland could end up with a 4 year winning streak, although that is a long long way from the 19 year PN-G winning streak that ended in 1984. Neumann has shown that he can get the troops ready to play in this huge rivalry. Burnett has just been one touchdown short the last three years. The winner of this game will take a big step to the post season. Since the Bulldogs already have notched a win over the mighty Jaguars, a loss to them won't be as huge as to PN-G. Since 2002 this game has been decided by less than 10 points. It is a good bet this game can go either way in the 4th quarter. Who will win? Check back Thursday morning for Toups Graphic's Fearless Prediction CENTRAL AT LUMBERTON Lumberton has never been to the playoffs. A win Friday night on their homefield will be even bigger than the win over Dayton. Central on the other hand is in a close to must win game after getting knocked out by the Bulldogs. Having two losses after the third week of district will not be easy to overcome. A loss by Lumberton in no means eliminates the Raiders playoff chances, but a Central loss could be lethal for the Jaguars. Can the Raider defense hold the Jaguars out of the end zone like they did against the Broncos? Central will need a mistake free game to win, can they do it? Who will win? Check back Thursday morning for Toups Graphic's Fearless Prediction VIDOR AT DAYTON The Broncos have revived their stalled out offense with the return of their 2nd string QB. The Pirates will be out manned in almost every position and will need to play at 110% every play. Can the Pirates resurrect their sinking ship and lasso the Broncos, or will the Broncos put the Pirates off the plank? Who will win? Check back Thursday morning for Toups Graphic's Fearless Prediction OZEN AT LC-M LC-M really needs this game. Ozen is running out of games that they could win. If LC-M plays mistake free football look for them to win, but you never know till you play the game. Ozen needs to punch the ball in when they get inside the 20. Will the Bears get their growl back after getting skinned at the Reservation, or will the Panthers play good enough to get a win. The loser will be 0 - 3 and for all practical purposes eliminated from the playoffs. Who will win? Check back Thursday morning for Toups Graphic's Fearless Prediction TOUPS GRAPHICS HAS A 23 AND 9 PREDICTION RECORD
