When I coached I always taught my athletes... Champions adapt and overcome, losers make excuses... Thanks KFDM COOP for the official information... We teach our kids the wrong message when we blame the refs for the outcome of a game. Should be a great game. Can't wait till kick off.

Boy has this thread gotten off topic.... However... Waffle House is a "manly man" place to meet! Having a delicious pecan waffle in the company of setxsports fans (after watching the Broncos stampede the Mustangs) would be just "AWEsome". The game is about 48 hours away!!! My magic "mathematical mojo" is foreseeing the Broncos pull away in the 2nd half. Look for Cody to get close to 400 yards of offense (rushing and passing).

You "think" it looks good... From a PNG grad... That mural is AWEsome!!!! Will add some class to Bulldog Stadium. Can't wait till the Broncos get to gallop into the endzone again and again this year when they tangle with the Dogs

Not talking about making the playoffs, but WINNING district... Lumberton can win district when.... Homer Simpson wins a write in ballot to become president of the USA. Dan Rather votes republican. The Astros start an incredible winning streak and win the World Series. George Bush leads a singing of "Love Train" in downtown Baghdad. Jack Nicklaus comes out of retirement and wins the Masters by 10 strokes over Tiger Woods. The water in the Houston Ship Channel becomes clean enough to drink. Lamar University gets football back and in the first year they go undefeated and win the division 2 national championship.... Kind of get the picture.... Not saying Lumberton doesn't stand a chance of getting a huge upset, but winning 2 out of 3 against Dayton, Central, and Nederland, the odds are just not there....

Just heard this on ESPN.... NY has banned aluminum bats in high school baseball. Wonder if this will set a national trend????

I'd watch out... I think PNG will have a new bear rug to display next year. I wouldn't want to be the team entering the reservation with revenge on the minds of the Indians.

For anyone from Nederland, this has got to be the top game... One of the lowpoints of my life... I was a senior at PNG that year. Watching Nederland win that game (the first time in the life of any PNG student) was just awful. For some of my friends at Nederland, I will never forget the joy they had that night. It wasn't a monkey or a gorilla that was lifted off their backs, it was a dinosaur. Fortunately for my class we finally beat TJ in our last game.

Tis true... But given the option of 1 - 2 or going 2 - 1, for sure Bulldog fans would love to be 2 - 1 after their first three games.

Burnett has got to start winning some of these games and quick... I know PNG will probably never have another 20 year winning streak over Nederland, but you can't keep losing 2 out of every 3 or even 3 out of every 4. PNG's first 3 games in district are HUGE!!! If the Indians can TKO Ozen, scalp the Bears, and then take the bite out of the Dogs look for them to make the playoffs, if they go even 2 and 1 (with their last two games against Central and Dayton) I don't see the tribe getting in. Nederland should beat Vidor, then they have Central and PNG. If Nederland is one and two after those three games it will be tough for the Dogs to continue their playoff streak. For the third week of the season, MCM is a really big game...

It would be nice if the bands would change their halftime shows from week to week. Kind of hard watching the same routine over and over... If I do leave the field at halftime it is for the restroom...

Don't think so... I can't wait to see all of the Dayton receivers catching TD passes on the new scoreboard jumbotron. Should make for excellent an highlight show ;D

Same here... I heard that Earl Campell was just dominating. Also... Bubba Smith when he played in Beaumont, as well as Little Joe Washington from Lincoln.

Using this terminology... No team in the National League Central should even be playing in the playoffs (MLB)... Your district is where you lay your eggs... If it is weak or strong, 3 teams go, even if you have a losing record or on the other end, having a team with an 8-2 record not making it... Boy have we forgotten the days when ONLY ONE TEAM made the playoffs.... Now with three teams (and eventually four) there are still people complaining....

That is correct, but the Central game is before the PNG game... Ps... The visiting side of Bronco stadium holds about 3,000... Would be AWEsome to have enough PNG fans to have standing room only... Will also be great to be in a stadium with purple on both sides!!!

Agree on the Reliant deal... WOS can talk all they want about the great success they have had over the last couple of decades, and rightly so, but.... When Reliant wanted to pick two teams to showcase SE Texas look at who they picked. Nederland, a powerhouse (hard to say for a PNG grad) for this part of the state, and PNG (no other school in SE Texas has the tradition and fan following like the tribe). As AD for either of these schools you really must play at Reliant if asked to appear. Good exposure for the schools, plus the high school athletes get a shot to play at one of the finest football stadiums in the USA. I wish they could play on Saturday, the attendance would maybe double...

PN-G better hope they got their tomahawks back from LC-M. I got a feeling on this game.... Look for the Bears to get "ambushed" at the reservation. It could be like Custer's last stand at Little Horn

The closer this game gets, the stronger my feelings are saying the Broncos will take this one. Look for the Broncos to make a very strong statement next Friday.

I bet after the BH vs WOS scrimmage BH was breathing a sigh of relief that they didn't end up 3A in WOS district... BH should be proud that they will have been in 4A for 2 years and will make the playoffs for both years, unfortunately... They will have an 0 - 2 playoff record after getting knocked out in the first round again. As far as the topic of this thread.... The WOS vs Dayton game should be AWEsome!!! Look for a turnover or miscue to decide the game. Should be within 10 points either way.

Rephrase it this way... If you had an out of state visitor come in and wanted to take him to one game to show him what Friday Night Lights is all about.... There is no other game in this part of the state that rivals the Friday Night Lights atmosphere like the PNG vs Nederland game. If you can get a ticket that would be the game to take him to... But.... My instincts tell me that the PNG vs Nederland game will be for 3rd place... The Dayton vs Central game will decide the district championship. FYI... The Dayton vs Central game should break the record for the largest crowd ever to watch a football game in Liberty county... Can't wait till the Broncos and Jaguars tangle again. It should be a great game.

If his heart is in athletics he should practice. If the coaches and administration do his punishment correctly he will turn out to be a better young man.

I am sure all the visiting teams this year at Bulldog stadium will enjoy seeing their touchdowns against the Dogs replayed over and over on the jumbotron LOL.... Just kidding... The scoreboard looks AWEsome!!! Can't wait for the Bronco vs Bulldog game.
