Just my opinion... But the easiest brackets to get to the end (due to a weak 2nd round match up or weaker 3rd round match up) would be the Vidor Crosby slot, or the Livingston Dayton slot. Good work on the brackets Brenham Fan

From inside sources... The Broncos are getting healthier, a much needed boost to the defense will happen Friday night! :)

I was really impressed with the GP receiver (forget his number).  The guy was AWEsome, but unfortunately his QB can't hit him when he is WIDE OPEN. For all you BH fans, how many points do you give up and still think you can win? Would you give up 20 or even 30??? BH should win big, I mean really big.  The key is to keep improving.  You don't want to play your best ball in week 8, or 9, you should be playing your best in week 11 and on. A 10 and 0 record means nothing if you get knocked out in bi-district.

Your starters need at least half the reps in the game or they can't improve. In high school, I would keep the starters in the first half and the opening possession of the third quarter and go 110%.  Put in the reserves (which at some schools isn't that much or that much of a drop off).  Run the ball between the tackles, but if the 2nd string scores SO BE IT.  All kids should be taught to play at 100% speed.  As previously stated, if you slow up, that is when you get hurt.

Week 8 kicks off Thursday in Baytown.  Some of these high school athletes only have three more games under the Friday Night Lights.  Win or lose GO OUT AND SUPPORT THEM! The previews are at... [Hidden Content] On another note... Just looking at the playoff brackets... With exception of Barbers Hill (who in all likely hood gets Brenham in round II). The route to quarterfinals goes through 24-4A. Pearland Dawson (Nederland's likely round three opponent), Manvel (looks like they will get the winner of Livingston and Dayton (if the Broncos can win one more time)), and Lamarque (probably paired up against Brenham or the Eagles if they can pull off the upset). That is really a power house district, last year all four teams went to quarter finals.  Friendswood is really down this year... Was looking at the chron for the possible fourth place team and the student count, but can't find it anywheres (talking about the student count).  This really impacts how I do my power rankings.  Any one know who is likely the 4th place finisher in 24-4A is, and how they will finish in regards to who is division I and who is division II?  Would be nice if someone could reply back and give their opinions on how this district finishes out. Also... If the Livingston running back is out, we will see in their next few games.  There is still a lot of horse power for Livingston.  It looks like PN-G and Livingston will be the division II seeds and Livingston has beaten PN-G.  Looking at the bracket from last year, the winner of that game easily has the weakest 2nd round opponent (Crosby vs Vidor winner may also have a weaker opponent).  The third round game, when 19-4A and 20-4A will square off against 24-4A, that part of the brackets is against the weakest of 24-4A.  Still three weeks left to go, but two things are pretty certain.  If Nederland keeps winning they will be paired up with Pearland Dawson in round III and the winner of the PN-G vs Barbers Hill winner gets Brenham in round 2 (easily the worst part of the bracket to be in).

[/quote]Correct, minus their star QB.  Things won't get easy after that game as the winner looks like they draw Humble, where they will be a big underdog.

My take on the Broncos. My son is in the senior group this year.  There is not much student leadership in that group.  My son is (if you want to say) one of the leaders of that group and he is probably a future comedian.  You can't make some one a leader, they have to have the quality.  This Bronco team is desperately in need of student team leadership.  The Broncos still have the pieces of the puzzle there, they just got to BELIEVE again.  This is the same bunch that beat Elkins and IKE and played Angleton down to the wire.  I still think the key is to get #20 back 100%.  #20 needs a lot of touches per game for the offense to click.  On the defensive side, we have been spoiled with the likes of Darian Wright and Tony Hill playing nose gaurd.  Those players are not easily replaced.  The Broncos have three weeks to get things in order.  In two weeks we travel to Crosby, where the Cougars are licking their chops.  As for me, I will ALWAYS BELIEVE in the Broncos.

Round 2 will be a lay up game.  Round 3 is when they square off against 24-4A.

Look at the log jam for 5th place in 19-4A.  If Dayton does go 1 and 2, I would think 3 and 4 does make the playoffs.

Just curious... when was the last time a district team put over 30 on the Broncos?  Waddell and I were trying to figure that out, can't recall? Moral of the story last night. Turn over the ball on your side of the field 5 times or more, is a recipe for disaster.  Best part of my video last night, might have been the halftime performance.  Updating my website now. In 19-4A GC Memorial can make a huge move to the playoffs if they can upend the Broncos. 20-4A features three great games. Can the Jaguars continue their winning streak, problem is they are playing the top notch Bulldogs. LC-M and Vidor lock horns in the 4A Orange County Bowl (loser might just be out of the playoff race) and finally at the Reservation can Ozen march the Indians down the trail of tears.  The Indians are basically in a must win situation this week, can they come out on top of a very good Ozen team?

Barbers Hill is #3 because they have Brenham in round 2.  Not saying the Eagles will automatically lose, but they will be an underdog.  IMO, the spot where Barbers Hill will end up (assuming they win out, which they should) is probably the toughest part of the bracket.  Nederland and the winner of the Dayton vs Livingston game should be favored in round 2. It's kind of ashame, but since they redid the brackets last year, 19 and 20 4A isn't in the same part of the bracket as HISD (which is like an automatic victory).  24-4A played the HISD schools in round two last year and pounded all four teams. And to the reply above, LaMarque got 4th place in district but ended up in the state championship game, so who had the better season, Friendswood or LaMarque, the further you get into the playoffs, well, you got the bragging rights when the other teams have to buy tickets to watch you play football.
