I believe the senior group of Broncos actually played LaMarque in junior high during their 7th grade year.  The result...  A DOMINATING PONY SWEEP!  LaMarque's five championship rings will have absolutely no bearing on this game.  None of the current LaMarque players were even in high school when the last ring was one.  What does matter is the current three years in a row of Dayton making it to at least the quarterfinals.  More players on the Broncos knows what it takes come playoff time.  If any advantage of playoff experience is factored into the game, it goes to the Broncos.

Kind of neat how there is only one team left in each division. Although Dayton is not east of the Trinity, it is east of Houston. Hopefully all the Region III winners will be east of Houston.

Dayton needs to worry about LaMarque and PN-G needs to concentrate on Manvel.  Never look ahead.  One game at a time.

Just finished putting the video onto the computer from the camcorder. I did get Aaron Ripkowski's big hit, but there are players in the way, you can see the helmet flying off.  He actaully took out two Panthers with one block.  Will go through the video tomorrow and might have the highlights up before church tomorrow morning. I think.... After the Broncos submerge the Panthers in their annual flee dip, the businesses in Dayton should all put up.... [size=18pt][b]ALWAYS BELIEVE[/b][/size] signs!

I think BH fans also need to consider what happened to their talent base after 2006.  Dayton started playing Barbers Hill around 2001 or 2002.  The senior group of 2006 had A LOT OF TALENT, but after that BH just didn't have that much athletic talent for many years.  Dayton beat BH at the junior high level for a few years really badly (combined scores for the 4 games were like 120 to 14), however the 10th grade bunch and the 9th grade bunch were MUCH IMPROVED!  The Ponies still won a majority of the games, but the games were closer.  The 10th grade QB (IMO) was the best athlete that I saw from BH.  Gage does have talent to work with (even though they are 9th and 10th graders) that ran dry during Price's last few years.  BH will continue to improve over the next few years just due to the fact that the talent coming into the high school is much better.  Glad it worked out for BH this year, especially after the stampede in Dayton.  You have to give Gage a lot of credit for winning out in district after his first district game was an unqualified disaster.

[quote name="mstngfan07" post="912186" timestamp="1290098548"] you should throw some 3a in there  :o [/quote]I am a one man show, and growing up in Port Neches, I still have an "inkling" of knowledge about how the 4A schools should be in the Golden Triangle.  I would be shooting darts blindfolded if I started trying to do 3A, plus it takes a lot of time to do two 4A districts.  Just a hobby of mine, I really enjoy watching the kids on Friday Night Lights.  Brings back so many happy memories of my elementary years watching the dynasty PN-G teams from the 1970's.  Being in Dayton now, and having taught many of the players that are on the field, it is really special to video and post highlights for the kids, I do what I do for them and their parents.  Wish I could do 3A, but I just don't have the man power.
