Yates is in the 2nd round because they were paired against another HISD school. That being said, Yates had the biggest margin of victory in round 1.  All Round 1 games in Region III 4A division 2 were close, except the Yates game. Still, LaMarque will crush Yates.

I would rank the top 4 as being... #1 Dayton - they have been to the quarter final game the last three years.  Until they are knocked out you can't overlook all the players on the Broncos that have been there and done that. #2 Manvel - Both Manvel and LaMarque come out of the toughest district in the region.  That can only help both teams. #3 LaMarque #4 PN-G - The lack of overall team speed will hurt PN-G.  I watched the PN-G vs Barbers Hill game, and there were many plays that a running back from lets say Dayton or even Livingston would have had the speed to break a long play against either team. The Regional round should be Dayton vs LaMarque and PN-G vs Manvel, but you just never know.  Brenham and El Campo should both be wake up calls for all four of those teams.

And... KW Park's playoff win was over a state ranked team.

If Central, Crosby, PN-G, and Dayton were playing the opponents that 24-4A were playing, 19-4A and 20-4A would also sweep away HISD.

Toups Graphics predicts... HISD 4A schools are ALL playing basketball on Monday.

[/quote]A project of mine is to upload my best highlights from 2008 and back to YouTube then make a page on my website that has links directly to my best highlights.  I will have copies of the 2009 DVD at the Bronco game Saturday.  In that Tivy game, I was in desbelief that AJ was able to turn the agony of defeat into the thrill of victory, in this game, I just knew the kids BELIEVED they would succeed.  When Armando caught that ball, it was really overwhelming, thrill of victory yells ensued.

How do I know that Dayton will win... Because... [img][Hidden Content]] DAYTON BELIEVES IN THE BRONCOS!!!  Made me so mad on Saturday, my students made this sign and it was taped to the railing at the Butch.  After the team came back from shaking hands I was going to get some students to help me take it down and get a picture with the football team behind it, and the ground staff at the stadium already ripped it down and threw it away.  ARRRRRR!!!!  Told my students we would make another one this week.

[/quote]The field at Cardinal stadium is sunk below ground level, a north wind is blocked by the Montagne Center, and the south wind is blocked by the new field house.  At the Butch, a north or south wind is unobstructed and the field level is not sunk.  Not taking anything away from the Butch, it is a great complex and something BISD should be very proud of.

It is such a great honor to have the opportunity to teach my students not only math, but a much larger lesson in life, that by believing you can succeed.  Videoing the high school kids say ALWAYS BELIEVE after each playoff win and then showing it to my current students impacts them so much.  Of course none of this would be possible with out the Coach Stewart and the amazing men he has as his assistants.  As a father to a high school kid involved in Dayton athletics, I am so glad that these men are having influence on him.  I think I speak for all parents in Dayton ISD, we are truly lucky to have Coach Stewart and his coaches (girls and boys).  They truly affect the school district, both athletically and academically.

Hope you come saturday and support the Broncos.  [/quote]Big round of applause for Brenham Fan.  Many of the posters disappear for a couple of weeks after their teams lose.  We need to remember we are cheering for young men.  Everybody loves to keep on winning, but at least in my life, many of the most important lessons I have learned came from my failures.  As I tell my students, Winning produces confidence and losing produces character.  A true champion has both confidence and character.  The more diverse the members of this site are the more entertaining it is.  I am really glad that Brenham Fan is still around.  The guy loves high school football and is very knowledgeable about many teams.

Dayton "could have been" up 21 to 0 very easily and put the game on ice in the 1st quarter. Lesson learned, if you have a chance to bury your opponent then do it! The Dayton defense played an AWEsome game.  The pretty much shut down a very good running game for about 80% of the game.

This thread needs to be deleted. Look at just what happened to probably the top two teams in region III division 2.  El Campo and Brenham will be dribbling basketballs on Monday.  PN-G needs to ONLY worry about Willis.

Game winning TD [Hidden Content]

#5 was like on every defensive play.  One person can only do so much.  This was the quickest defense McBride has ran against being the starter (he also started the IKE game).  He did much better this game.  If McBride continues to improve the Broncos will keep winning.
