The Crosby vs Dayton voice over highlight video is being uploaded now.  It is about 13 minutes long and it is telling me at 9:51 that is has 4 hours left.  So.... If you are working a graveyard shift and can get some internet time, enjoy the video.

The winner of the Brenham vs Dayton game will be Region III champs in division II. The winner of the Barbers Hill game vs their 20-4A pairing looks to have a very easy path to the regional round.  Look for the winner of that game to win two more times.  LC-M might not even be in the playoffs if they don't beat Nederland, it might be Livingston.  Barbers Hill stands a better chance of advancing since they at least have a defense that is posting shutouts (even though the competition in 19-4A isn't that good). Just from what I have seen over the last four years of the Broncos getting to at least the quarter final round.  The most crucial element to win in the playoffs is defensive speed.  If you line up against an offense and your line men and line backers can run down the other teams running back (like Dayton has been able to do) you can really shut down a team.  Most of the times the team with the best defense ends up winning.  The Broncos might have lost Jakari, but there defense is really improving.  I can see the Brenham vs Dayton game being within a TD, I would give the edge to the Bronco defense.  If McBride can have over 100 yards in that game, the Broncos might just very well be able to beat Brenham.

The penalty on the tackle that ended Jakari's season involved a face mask behind the actually tackle.  Jared Gause from Dayton was blocking on the play and a Crosby player had a very flagrant face mask.  The Crosby players did not take a knee until well after even the fans from Crosby were yelling to do so.  I also agree that just looking through my video, Crosby really never got fired up.  They were draining the 25 second clock on each snap and it was like they were trying to stall out the Broncos from scoring instead of trying to score themselves.  Merka did make three excellent deep passes, but just couldn't get the offense rolling (a lot of that has to do with the Bronco front seven).

Jakari had surgery this morning.  Any updates?

HOT DOG!!! It looks like if Central beats PN-G, then the Indians will be the #2 division II seed and will play the Broncos!  Get to hear Cherokee and see the marching I.  and...  I get to watch my Broncos blast another 20-4A opponent!  Good times for PURPLE 4EVER!

Went out to work, and the upload process had a kink, most of the plays didn't upload.  The rest are going up now.  Hopefully this time there won't be any errors.

Toups Graphics takes on the game.... 1.  Crosby was really flat, they played the game with no emotion. 2.  Merka made some outstanding passes on the long completions.  The ball was right on the money. 3.  Herrera is the silent steady force of the Bronco offense.  Another AWEsome game.  He is doing an outstanding job at directing the offense. 4.  Crosby had two very long kick off returns.  No one has done this since district started. 5.  The penalty on the play that Jakari got hurt on was a fask mask on Jared Gause who was blocking behind the play.  It was a pretty flagrant facemask.  The tackle on Jakari was clean. 6.  The Dayton defense is playing in beast mode.  Any time Crosby got close to scoring, they either turned away the cougars on downs or had a key turnover. 7.  The Cougars were smart for kicking a field goal instead of going for it.  They avoid the shut out. 8.  It is a beautiful day, about to go out and work in the yard.  The highlight video will be made tomorrow.  GOD BLESS TO ALL!!!  If any one finds out what hospital Jakari is in, please PM me.

From the video... The Crosby player grabbed Jakari high up, but by the time he finally grabbed clothe, his hand was around the waist line.  The Crosby player was falling down and held on, Jakari planted his right foot, and his leg couldn't take the stress.  The tackle started up high, but it was NOT a horse collar, althought it sure did look like it.  Regardless... HEAL QUICKLY JAKARI!  Still sick at my stomach thinking of it.  Sometimes life isn't fair, but the tribulations we face in life make us stronger.

[/quote] Talk to Toups [/quote]I haven't seen it on video yet, it is going to my computer now.  I did get a good angle on the tackle.  Looked like to me from the original play Jakari was horse collared (which is what the penalty was for).  The crosby's players legs might have flown around in the tackle and hit Jakari, but it looked like to me his foot stuck on the turf, the tackle pulled him back and his leg couldn't handle the stress.  A towel was thrown over the leg almost immediately after the play.  My son said he heard the leg pop.  When I was a senior at PN-G our QB had a compound fracture in the lower leg.  Jakari will have a long physical therapy process ahead of him.  Keep him in your prayers that his leg heals correctly.

Anybody know what hospital he is in? He has a long process in healing that leg. Thankfully he is young, his leg will heal stronger than before, it will just take a long while. LOVE YOU JAKARI!

The way the playoff rounds are named are.... bidistrict area regional quarter finals semi finals state Dayton won the Regional Round of the playoffs even though the Region III champs is the winner of the quarter final round.  In reality the quarter final round should be named the regional round of the playoffs.
