I see Central, PN-G, and Nederland as the top three in 20-4A then the rest will be log jammed....

Just curious.... I know satellite doesn't carry the substations, do cable companies (either in Beaumont or Houston) carry the substations. And.... I am seriously thinking about getting an antenna to pick up Beaumont and Houston (in Dayton you can get both, but I believe you have to turn the antenna). Any recommendations on a brand and model...

Tuesday, maybe even Monday morning, Toups Graphics will post his first game previews.  This week Dayton will travel to Fort Bend.  The commute to the stadium won't be easy.  Toups Graphics will post several ways to get to the stadium using (Toups GPS) and places to eat around the stadium. To all of you with kids in school. Monday morning is not far away. THANK GOD THE SCHOOLS HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!

Technically we are NOT in the Beaumont TV coverage area, though with a good antenna you can pick up the TV signals (if you are not deep in the woods). Houston WILL NOT cover Dayton.  Even when LaMarque was churning out the state championships, LaMarques games were never carried live on Houston stations.  With the advent of HD TV and the numerous substations that TV stations are allowed, I could see Dayton getting one game of the week for lets say channel 2, 11, or 13, you would have to have an antenna to pick up these substations (they aren't on satellite, and I don't know if cable carries them).  At least......  I do post highlights and this year the kids will have the option to buy a BluRay disc.  (I don't think there are any teams around that are offering highlight footage on BluRay disc).

TOUPS GRAPHICS SUMMARY Dayton If they don't put the ball on the turf and catch the ball when it hits them in the hands they will give a good showing this Friday. Way too many offensive errors to beat a 5A team. Dayton's defense is AWEsome! Seemed like everytime Nederland got the ball inside the Dayton 30, the Bulldogs were pushed back. Dayton, with all the unforced offensive errors, and not having one of the best receivers in the area, still pulled away from a very good Nederland team in the 2nd half.  If Gamal Fowler would have been in this game, there was nobody in the Nederland secondary that could have covered him, the game would have been a blowout in the first half. Nederland Trenches look solid for Nederland.  Defense is solid, but no speed in the secondary.  QB has a bazooka, but is slow.  Key for Nederland is to get #1 churning up the rushing yardage.  If Nederland can run the ball,they will be VERY tough to beat.  Both teams will be in the playoffs.

Top four 4A teams in Region III in this poll.... Brenham Angleton Dayton PN-G I believe all four schools are probably looking at going into the playoffs in division 2. Will be interesting to see how the brackets place these four teams and who will play each other first. Being in the right part of the bracket is going to be huge.

Dayton is not covered by the Beaumont media, and shouldn't be. How many businesses in Dayton buy advertising in the Beaumont Enterprise? The TV coverage by antena does not reach here unless you got a high powered antenna. Technically we are in the Houston market, but the eastern part of that market (which Dayton is in) has a low population per square mile and compared to the west side of Houston, drastically less wealth. At least.... We are included in this site and the discussions that follow. The two years we were in 20-4A, at least Channel 4, 6, and 12 were at our home games getting some highlights, it just stank that no one in Dayton could see them on TV.

One more thing.... Last year my Fearless Predictions were accurate 77% of the time.... What do you guys think the over / under on my percentage will be??? GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS THIS YEAR! The Beaumont stadium may look nicer, but as anybody around here knows, nothing beats the Friday Night Lights experience like watching PN-G at the Reservation. I hope all the people in SETX enjoy the new complex in Beaumont. It will be great for all the kids that get a chance to play there.

I believe the top four 4A teams in no particular order are Central, Crosby, Dayton, and PN-G. Those four teams are the highest ranked 4A teams. Looks pretty good.

Geography is the big key... Being in the corner of a HUGE state doesn't help any.
