TOUPS GRAPHICS PRE-SEASON RANKINGS
PURPLE 4EVER replied to PURPLE 4EVER's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I don't think so.... Had some really cool kids at the camp. It is a real special place there, but I am really glad it is almost FOOTBALL SEASON!!! -
Well.... The summer of 2010 is over (for all practical purposes). I spent the summer at Camp Cayuga in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania and took over 17,000 pictures as the camp photographer. What a way to spend the summer. Anyways.... Finally.... I have gotten some time to update my website. Thursday morning (August 19) I will post my 19 and 20-4A district finish predictions. Follow along on my website as the 19 and 20-4A teams experience the thrills of victory and the agony of defeat. What SETX sport fans will be eating the most crow (bh89, I believe you might be high on the list)? What team will be dribbling basketballs first, and will "delusions of grandeur" still prevail on the hill at HWY 146 and I-10? Which teams will be the best between the San Jacinto and the Sabine? These questions will be answered as the football season of 2010 goes by Friday by Friday.
but if they dont you have to wear a pink shirt that says "district 20 4A dominates 19 4a" and use it as your pic on setxsports all next year!!
Obviously Dayton is not part of the equation here... I would love to see the point totals with Dayton vs 20-4A over the last 4 or 5 years. That blows the 20-4A domination over 19-4A out of the window.
I can't disgree with the wife's suggestion........ ;D ;D Let me clarify, if your team loses out before one of the other teams listed (yes we need a Crosby sucker too), then you would have to attend one of remaining teams game wearing their team shirt. For grins, if someone makes it to State we all go wearing that teams shirt. Example: After Crosby, Dayton, and BH win week one and GCM loses, GCMPats would have to attend one of the 3 remaining teams week 2 game wearing that team's shirt. To make it fun we can take SETX poll to see which game that person or persons have to attend. Who can we sucker in this bet from Crosby. Someone south of hwy 90 must have stole the cable for scrap. ;D
For all of you going into this wager.... Right now Walgreens in Dayton has TONS of purple Bronco shirts at good prices. You may want to get about four, five, or maybe even six of them, that is about how many playoff games you will be going to watch the Broncos play in this year.
You have to believe that he will win tournaments again and a few more majors, but right now he is in a funk and you just don't know which direction he will go. My opinion is I don't think he will ever get back to the dominating place that he was, but what do I know.
Just due to age... He is past his prime. You got to think he will win again, but right now he is in a huge valley.

bh and dayton jr high to play with gccisd schools
Who won last year out of dayton and bh's 7th grade A teams? Will BH now be running the option? From Baytown Gentry is stacked...lots of speed....but cunnigham is north shores main jr high and they smoked gentry last year...they are very good
Dayton and BH played twice in JH. The first time Dayton swept all the games. In the next round, I believe BH won two of the four games. Dayton's 7th grade A team (I believe) was undefeated. Loads of speed and talent in that group. They will be tough to beat by any junior high in this area. -
Don't believe what you read folks ;D These ranking are very safe bets, but it it ain't going to happen! Check the Rankings last year and explain why Dayton didn't win the Championship hmmmmm Maybe it was because Crosby didn't see the rankings last year. Here is an idea ;D Lets rent a bill board in Crosby and post the rankings for this year then Dayton will have to win then!!!!!! ;D
In the end.... Crosby was buying playoff tickets to watch the Bronocs play (something Barbers Hill football fans are very accustomed to). -
One word sums up Barbers Hill Eagle football fans view of Dayton Bronco Football..... ENVY No matter how much Gray Poupon they put on their hot dogs during the Broncos vs Eagles football game, the outcome NEVER changes... Bronco score > Eagles score and.... an awful case of acid indegistion.

How will your Junior High team do this year ?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dayton's 8th grade A team can hang with anybody in this area. Lots of guys on that team have break away speed. -

I know the Junior High Coach at Dayton was elated with the new district. It has been really hard for Dayton to schedule junior high football games. This should be a great junior high district for the kids as well as the parents. Can't wait to see the Dayton vs Barbers Hill 8th grade game. Both schools have great squads, but Dayton has a little more overall speed. By the way.... It is my last full day here in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.... This morning it was 50 degrees outside!!!!! Looks like I am bringing just a little bit of that cold weather back home from me, as the highs next week are supposed to be about normal instead of 100+ Can't wait to get back home and video the Dayton Broncos yet again! -
Texas HS Footballs' 4A Pre-Season Rankings
PURPLE 4EVER replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
IMO..... I would rather be unranked now and playing football around Thanksgiving. These polls are just the "opinions" of sports writers and sometimes coaches. One thing these polls do mean is.... IT IS GETTING CLOSER TO FOOTBALL SEASON! -
YES, there's the early basketball reference ive been waiting on but wth...u forgot delusions of grandeur...you cant forget something like that...it's time to get into game shape.
Some people have to tell reality to Barbers Hill football fans.... I don't think I am mistaken, but since Barbers Hill moved up to 4A, I don't think there has been one team on the high school level from Barbers Hill to even beat the Dayton Broncos.

The Wing T Offense !! Your opinion on it?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to H-D BOBCAT 55's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
If the defense you are facing has two or three guys faster than your fastest running back, it won't work. Take a look at what Dayton has done to many run based teams in the playoffs for the last few years. If you have the QB to disperse the ball, and the recievers to catch, the spread offense is the way to go. -

The Angleton vs Dayton game should be a dan dan dandy!!!! This morning when I woke up at my summer job (in the Pocono Mountains of PA) it was about 50 degrees! Yesterday evening felt like a Friday October evening back home. CAN'T WAIT FOR FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!! -
19-4A vs 20-4A Who would win?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to Tyrone_Biggums's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I still think Dayton is lucky to only have one junior high feeding into the high school. The flip of that is.... With two junior highs going into the high school (like PN-G and Nederland) you do have two sets of players getting repetitions with first string competition. Watching the kids start of in Dayton in 7th grade and going up into high school, the program they have at Dayton is top notch. The athletes improve here at a pace that is hard to match. -
If I were an unbiased fan (had no affiliation) these are the local games I would have as must sees: 1st 2nd Week 0: WOS @ Ned Central @ PAM Week 1: Newton @ KVille Crosby @ PNG Week 2: Angleton @ Dayton Dawson @ Crosby Week 3: Katy @ WB (9/18) Jasper @ WOS (9/17) Eisenhower @ Dayton not far behind Week 4: Giddings/WOS (Conroe) Tyler Lee @ WB Week 5: PNG @ Ned (10/1) WOS @ KVille (10/2) Week 6: NS @ PAM Central @ LCM Week 7: WB @ NS Ned @ Central Week 8: LCM @ PNG Jasper @ KVille Week 9: Crosby @ Dayton Newton @ Anahuac Week 10: Central @ PNG LCM @ Ned
EXCELLENT CHOICES!

Area games to be broadcast on TV
PURPLE 4EVER replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
First off.... Don't look for Dayton Bronco games in 19-4A to be televised by any TV station from Houston or Beaumont. #1 How many businesses in Dayton advertise in the Beaumont or Houston market. #2 Why would the Houston stations even bother in coming out to Dayton on a weekly basis. There bread and butter in market share is the larger 5A schools. #3 The Houston TV stations all have their TV towers in Missouri City, with HDTV broadcasts, you can't pick up those station in Dayton with rabbit ears now, you might be able to if you live in Eastgate with no trees around you. Why would the Houston stations come out to the eastern fringes of their broadcast range to televise a game that would be watched by less than 1% of their total TV market share. #4 Truth be told, (just from growing up in Port Neches), the Beaumont area is passionate about high school football for everything EAST of the Trinity. Also, the best weekly TV coverage the Broncos EVER got was the two years we were in what is currently 20-4A. Every home game at least one of the Beaumont stations were at our games getting highlights, unfortunate for Bronco fans because we couldn't watch the highlights because without a good antenna you can't get Beaumont stations. And that brings me to a very good thought for residents along the Trinity River region.... I believe with a very good antenna you can pick up BOTH Houston and Beaumont (you might have to turn the antenna, but you should be able to pick up the HD signals from both areas). If you are a big high school football and or sports fan, it only makes sense that as time passes, the stations will be using thier substations to broadcast more local high school sports, I can even see them broadcasting basketball games or maybe even baseball games in the future on these substations. Also, sometimes the Beaumont stations do carry different NFL games on Sunday, if you have an antenna, that is more action you can watch for FREE (after the cost of the antenna). Would like to know if any of you living in Dayton or Barbers Hill does have an antenna that can pick up both Houston and Beaumont? I might be getting a large antenna for my house this fall, was wondering if there was a brand that did pick up both markets without having to turn them? -
19-4A vs 20-4A Who would win?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to Tyrone_Biggums's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Back to 19-4A vs 20-4A, the biggest factor in deciding who is strongest currently, the district with Dayton in it obviously has the strongest team and PROGRAM from 7th to 12th grade. Last years overall results for the Dayton Bronco football program were very impressive. From 7th to varsity I doubt the whole football program had more than 10 or so losses. ps..... Any one with kids in Junior high living in Dayton, Barbers Hill, and Baytown, they made a new junior high district that will be really nice. I think Crosby is in it to, but they may be playing the Humble schools still. Will try to post the Pony football schedule on my website when I get back home. -

The East has tradition over the West, but the 80's are no more and I think Dayton showed that, taking the district championship two years in a row ;D Good news is that Dayton has put yall district championships in E-bay if you want them back ;D Oh and just so Dayton dont think I'm getting soft Ike by 72 8)
But one of those DC was shared with PNG and Lumberton.. The year Lumberton beat Dayton, Dayton beat PNG and PNG beat Lumberton
Let us all not forget about that "secret meeting" that was swept under the rug. Truth be told, 20-4A is still celebrating the day that Dayton was moved out of their district. Top to bottom 20-4A is stronger, but for the last half decade, which district had the last team playing.... -
Talk up the smack all ya'll want but on paper Dayton's 09 stats prove the nucleus is in place they're the team to beat. What puzzles me is 3 mediocre seasons 07-09 BH was 14 wins-17 losses but in 8 seasons prior 99-06 former BH HC Price was (80 wins-14 losses and he's gone)Careful what you wish for. Bronco HC Stewart 99-06 was( 64 wins-29 losses)and we love it enuff to name the stadium after him and give him a raise since 07-09 he's 38-9. 8) ::) ;D
Why did Barbers Hill go 14 and 17 from 2007 to 2009..... Maybe.... They were bumbed up to 4A and starting playing with the big boys of the neighborhood. That said, they were placed in the weaker district (east Houston instead of Beaumont). And on top of that, the talent pool just ran dry (after the twins graduated, there wasn't much below them), but they do have some good players coming up.

Karma could be the big winner here..... 5 years from now if James still doesn't have a ring, it will be from the product of his actions now.

I can't wait till the Dayton vs Barbers Hill thread is posted the week of the game. This is only July and already the smack is thicker than Shurfin peanut butter.
