Interesting article.... Would be nice to get some more response on this from someone in the loop of how state money is spent on education.

If you didn't see that then you should take the Purple glasses off. Although Dayton was down a QB BH was in controll of that game till after the half then Stewart took Price to school on coaching and how to make an adjustment. I don't think Stewart will out fox Cage as easily. Cant wait for the game!
The Dayton defensive performance against BH was one of the worst that I saw from them all last year. My favorite part of the BH game was when all the hill fans thought they actually had a chance to win and then drove back down 146 proud that they didn't get beat as bad as they did the previous year. I can't wait for Dayton to smash off on the hill AGAIN and then enjoy all the convo's about how BH girls basketball is great and payback will happen on the Tennis court.
Don't forget that one act play is right around the corner after football season. BH should be proud of the first half. Herrera took two quarters to get used to the speed of the game from bumping up from JV to Varsity, then he toasted the Eagles defense for 21 points in about 7 minutes. After playing the likes of Elkins, Angleton, and IKE if the Broncos are healthy going into the BH game, BH fans might as well start popping the anti-depression pills because it will be a long night at Broncos stadium. Need I remind BH fans that the only football team to beat Dayton last year was the 8th grade A team.....

Dayton's opener is @ Ft. Bend Elkins
PURPLE 4EVER replied to Mike George's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Fort Bend has two big stadiums. For those with an EZ Tag.... Hall Stadium is at the intersection of the Fort Bend Toll Road and HWY 6. To get on the Fort Bend Toll Road you take Loop 610 past Reliant Stadium and exit HWY 90 or South Main Street. Turn left on South Main and that road turns into the Fort Bend Toll Road. The Fort Bend Toll Road ends at HWY 6 and the stadium will be on your left. For those without an EZ Tag.... It won't be fun getting to that side of Houston on a Friday evening now matter how you travel there. -
Coaches have fond memories of Astrodome
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
In the 1970's the dome was really a big teepee!!! Some marvelous memories of PN-G there.... -
Pretty heated debate on Dayton's predistrict schedule.... I doubt the Broncos go into the BH game 0 and 3. If the Broncos can stay healthy going into district, after playing Elkins, Angleton, and IKE, the Barbers Hill game will be like playing a JV team, especially if the Eagles are an 80 to 90% running offense. By the way.... HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!! It hasn't cracked 80 degrees for over a week up here in the Poconos! LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!

My favorite Dayton Bronco game to relive would be the 63 to 0 win over the Nederland Bulldogs on their home turf. Watching all those Bronco touchdowns over again on the Bulldogs new jumbotron was a real treat. My favorite PN-G game would be any of the 1970 playoff games played at the Astrodome. Talk about some AWEsome memories of 20,000 plus fans all clapping to Cherokee.

Darrian Wright Dayton Bronco Nose Tackle
PURPLE 4EVER replied to buckin bronco 09's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The key words in the initial post.... ALWAYS BELIEVE!!! If the Broncos do this, it will be a fun post season! -
BH's best bunch will be sophomores this year. That was a really good squad, unfortunately for BH, the 10th grade group at Dayton is just a little better. Will be interesting to see how many sophomores for Dayton and Barbers Hill end up playing on Friday night.
Its either going to be Dayton or Crosby. I leaning more with dayton. There too many unknowns with crosby. They just have QB and that's it. It might be the only time you will see dayton 0-3 to start district. Dayton 7-3 (7-0) Crosby 6-4 (6-1) Lee 7-3 (5-2) BH 6-4 (4-3) GCM 4-6 (3-4)
Dayton should win their first game (which I think is the easiest of the three). Curious to see how many sophomores will be filling in the ranks. There is a ton of speed in that group of kids.

I can't believe a someone would actually bet 1000 dollars on BH. I don't care what anybody says, thats funny!!! :D
I think the guy from BH may have backed out. I haven't seen a response since frazier insisted on a cash money bet. What's the deal, is the bet going to happen?
On any given day any team can beat another, but betting $1000 on BH over Dayton (with no points), well, the hamster isn't spinning a circular wheel.

Anything can happen though seya at Half time and I'll bring my post ;D
BHFAN You better stock up on the zolaff and rolaids by September 24..... That is the day for BH football fans that the delusions of grandeur come to a shocking reality check and the heartburn sets in...... In case you don't know what happens on September 24, that is the day that BH does not get enough first downs to surpass the number of TD's scored by the Broncos.

As the World Turns (Barbers Hill style)...

and the Broncos vs Eagles game is still 3 1/2 months away.....

bh89-2..... You really need to learn the tendecies and traits of delusions of grandeur...... from wikipedia.... delusions of grandeur are principally a subtype of delusional disorder but could possibly feature as a symptom of schizophrenia and manic episodes of bipolar disorder. Grandiose delusions are characterized by fantastical beliefs that one is famous, omnipotent, or otherwise very powerful. The delusions are generally fantastic, often with a supernatural, science-fictional, or religious bent (for example, belief that one is an incarnation of Jesus Christ). Word is many people in Barbers Hill suffer from this (might be in the water). Reality hits hard in Barbers Hill when the Eagles play the Broncos in football though (in basically all grade levels).
-
Word of warning to bh89-2.... If you are enjoying a hot dog during the Eagles first district game (probably topped off with Grey Poupon) I hope you have a large amount of Pepcid AC, because I sense a serious dose of heart burn as reality once again hits the Hill. Need I remind you of Barbers Hill record against Dayton since moving up to 4A.... As for Crosby, when they play Dayton it will be a war.... Only time will tell who the winner of that game will be, if Dayton gets through their pre-district schedule healthy, it won't be good news for any team in 19-4A.

Good article at Fox Sports this morning.... [Hidden Content] I wish Tiger all the best, but if he has another bad tournament this week we will probably be witnessing the downward spiral of Tiger from the worlds best to just another top competitor. I do believe he will win another tournament (probably many more), but there are a lot of better players coming up that have their original knee cartilage and don't have back problems. As Nicklaus said, Tiger will be 36 next year, and father time catches up to all of us. Jack does believe Tiger will win at Pebble and or St. Andrews (courses Tiger usually performs great at). What do you guys think, will Tiger win a major this year?

I only have this comment about a Flexbone old school offense; You better have the whole package of good backs w/an awesome offensive line/def.line and score almost every possession to stay in the game vs.good spread team.
I can't wait to see Dayton shut down that offense. Gage doesn't think much of Dayton's defensive scheme. We'll see what he thinks after that game.
When Barbers Hill plays Dayton, when the Eagles are on offense the fastest three or maybe even four players on the field will be on the defensive side of the ball. If the Eagles can't ram the ball between the tackles it will be a long night. They just don't have the overall offensive speed to get the ball around the corner of a lightning fast defense like the Broncos will have.

Is he surrounding himself with yes men? Running off chancellor as the girls BB coach seems a little odd. I dont have a dog in the fight out there but reading all of these articles in the Baytown Sun has me scratching my head. Seems like Dave Rogers of the Sun too is trying to dig into it as well.
I really doubt he had much to do with it. The board is in control and one of the members is just dying to get one of hi old classmates back in BH. Even though she should not be!!!!!! seems there is only one "YES MAN".
I just hope the school board lets the new coach do his job... Nothing worse than being told who gets playing time from "blue-bird" parents and the school board. This seemed to be a big problem with the previous staff. Good luck to the new coach... Hope he is successful and that the kids improve under his coaching.
i am afraid that bh will not finish in the top 4 ;this year.
If Barbers Hill does go to a run based offense, the key to their season will be able to run the ball between the tackles. If the Eagles can't mount a 3 yards and a cloud of dust drive and eat up the clock, it will be a long season for the Eagles.
Better Tighten up your Jocks, "The Hill" is coming to the party to play. New system, New attitude, New Results! 1 BH 2 Lee 3 Dayton 4 Crosby 5 King T-6 Galena Park T-6 GCM T-6 North Forest
Those Barbers Hill people all suffer from delusions of grandeur..... Reality bites on September 24 BH Ealge... I hope you are on some medication as you watch the Eagles chase the Broncos up and down the field again. Just remember that 3rd quarter last year at Broncos stadium, this year it could end up being 4 quarters of that.

[Hidden Content] I think there is at least about 3 dozen dazzling, "pleasing to the eye" females that would love to give Tiger's neck a massage, and.... I don't think the massage would stop at the neck :o
