Not too shabby for a 3rd place team in 2010. ;) ;) Got to take Crosby out for 2nd.
that 3rd place team was still playing football while everyone else east of Houston was dribbling basketballs ;) ;)
If BH sophs are as good as some have said, they should be a force to wreckin with from either this season on (till they graduate) or the following season. Should be pretty interesting!!!!
I agree. This is the start of a good 3-4 years. Sure hope our stud freshman QB stays in town. There are some really god players the next several years (big and fast kids). Should be interesting.
Last spring, one of my students (in Dayton) said that the BH QB was moving, now it seems like that just might be true... IMO, He was the best athlete in that good bunch of kids. Unfortunately for BH, as good as that bunch is, the Dayton kids at the same level have more speed and size.
Haha purple 4 ever cracks me up... 2 years ago PNGs freshman put it on dayton.... they will be seniors next year.
Even as a PN-G graduate... I really don't think Indian fans want to remember their last two meetings with the Broncos, nor do they want to tangle with last years Broncos freshmen (some of who will see action this year on Friday night). -
McIlroy (a 20 year old Irishman) shots a 62 to beat out a very good field at Quail Valley. This guy is the real deal.... I can't imagine being 20 years old and winning a very good PGA tournament. What a Sunday for McIlroy. Good article pasted... [Hidden Content]

Single Site State Championship Info
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Not saying it would ever happen, but just think if an El Paso school and lets say Odessa make it to the big game, and.... IT'S IN HOUSTON!!!! El Paso has to travel 800 miles to the game! STUPID!!!!!!! Texas is WAY TO BIG to have one site for ALL state championship games! But.... When TV contracts are in the picture.... MONEY TALKS!!!! The UIL stands to gain lots of money from a TV contract to televise ALL state championship games from one spot. Wonder what happens to this money???? -

From what i hear the offensive line is going to be massive! They will also have some very good talent at all three of the running back spots! Also just about everybody is returning on they're defense which includes that lockdown corner #10
Uh oh! Someone is on their BHISD Dell laptop again.
I think Tiger needs to realize that there is more to life than golf. He should know that based on his life the past several months. I know that he needs (as most athletes do) to be intense about his play, but if he allows himself to not try to be perfect, he might actually enjoy his life. Will he go down as the best golfer of all times if he plays that way the rest of his life, maybe not. If his goal is to be perfect he needs to quit now and continue his life without pro golf. I like watching Tiger play and enjoy his passion and enthusiasm. I just think he needs to learn to relax and enjoy.
AMEN! I hope Tiger does return to form, but God only knows what is going through his mind everyday. It has got to be really hard for him. One thing I have learned.... You become who you are after going through the valleys of life, that is what hardens you into a champion. Good luck to Tiger in this. I hope he is there for his kids and that he can find his winning ways again.
-
Tiger has the worst score today at Quail Valley. He will miss the cut. Got to be thinking about what is going on in Tiger's head. If he isn't able to put it together this year and find his winning ways at least once it might be hard for him to get everything back together.

The completion of the Grand Parkway will be HUGE for Barbers Hill... My brother in law owns a water utility company that operates MUD districts on the west side of Houston. He knows of BIG time housing developments along the grand parkway around I-10. (he compares one of them to a "Woodlands like" neighborhood (except without the woods). It won't be long until the ball starts rolling on these developments.... BH will be booming, but.... If you want your "all american" football son to be on a team that will has a VERY GOOD shot at reaching the quartefinals for the next five years, you move north on HWY 146 to Dayton. ps.... Good luck to the new coach at Barbers Hill. -
Woods: 'I've done some pretty bad things'

The public image that Tiger "tried" to display hisself with his sponsors was totally smashed by his actions. None of this has anything to do with his golf game. His confession of poor behavior on the golf course and his pledge to improve, that was BOGUS! He displayed poor manners at the Masters and his bad mouth and temper will be something that Tiger really needs to work on. I have heard several people on sports talk radio that say he did NOTHING wrong. That he was doing what most famous athletes do. I sure wouldn't want those men influencing my son. And you wonder why almost 70% of African Americans are born out of wedlock. Unfortunately many African American males, and many males of all skin color, find nothing wrong with what Tiger did. When you get married and have kids, your most important job is being a husband and a father. Tiger has miserably failed at both of these. I hope he can turn things around, but I doubt it. -

But I will say this I am good friends with the girls basketball coach at Central. She is awesome and a good coach. The girl sports get no respect from BISD and the area in general. I am pissed about that. The girls basketball program has been successful for many years. The coach has been the reason and they should be rewarded.
My daughter was a cheerleader. i love her to death but it's hard to get too worked up about cheerleading competitions. Give me two bits...... ;D
My daugther was a cheerleader too and get ready to spend some money. Also girls are mean. Get ready for the drama. ;D ;D Been there done that.
One of the guys in my Sunday school class told me something very profound.... I am the father to one boy, but he said, "if you have a son, they grow up and go on, but if you have a daughter, they are forever". Looking at how close my sister (age upper 40's) is with my dad, what a true statement! ENJOY THIS TIME WITH YOUR DAUGHTER! I am really glad I got a boy, but there is a magic quality that comes with a daughter!

I would like to add.... How many players do you think moved in to the Sealy area or the LaMarque area during their hey day. Lets say you have a very talented son, and get transfered to the Houston area and have to pick a location to live. If.... You don't mind a commute to the city and you want your son to be part of a winning football team and live in a great community, you are moving to Dayton "the crossroads town between Houston and Beaumont". Coach Stewart knows how to get the best out of the athletes, and from just what I have seen, you would be hard pressed to find another "program" that advances and improves it's 7th graders all the way till they graduate. -

I've only been in Beaumont since '91 but I saw the whole thing from Port Arthur growing up......
Beaumont is slowly turning into Port Arthur. I am not understanding your post. Are you blaming everything that happened to Port Arthur on white people?
You are correct. I graduated from TJ in 1984, lived there till they put a fence.....yes a fence around TJ. Why did they do that? Did it have anything to do with combining all the high schools to one? All you folks that want to see Beaumont do well should take a drive to Port Arthur. Drive down gulfway drive and check it out. See if it is starting to look similar to Beaumont. If it is (and it is), something needs to change.
I would suggest people drive to Fort Bend ISD and see all the new construction since 2000 which includes 4 new high schools. And Trippy, it's called White Flight. Alot of you left PA after the layoffs in '82 and '84.....
Unfortunately... that school district (Fort Bend) is millions of dollars in the hole. As a previous post said... It is amazing how the kids of all races actually get along, even in the schools of Beaumont, it is the adults who spoil everything.
AMEN.
Dayton is good because Jerry Stewart developed a program.

IMO... The key starts in 7th grade.... Dayton is VERY LUCKY to just have AWEsome coaching in 7th and 8th grade. They have had the same junior high head coach for the last ten or so years and he is AWEsome! Dayton's football program is top notch in 7th and 8th grade, and when the kids go up to high shool, the winning just continues! It is really amazing to see the talent and speed that just keep coming through the junior high here in Dayton. The current 9th graders and 7th graders have loads of speed, size, and talent. Look for the Broncos to keep making it to the quarter finals, at least for the next five years, the talent and the coaching are there for this to happen. -
This is really sad... Having grown up in Port Neches, and watching how BISD and South Park were desegregated in the 80's.... It is just sad.... IMO.... The color of you skin in BISD (from the students all the way up to the superintendant) is used for good and bad, it is used to place you in enriched classes (they have to balance the numbers) it is used sometimes to place starters on athletic teams (lord help the coach that only had one color starting) it is used in hiring and moving teachers from one school to the other. Just ask a coach who plays a BISD team, when picking officials the color of your skin is also a necessity. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE DREAM!!! "One day my children will grow up in a country where they are judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin!!!!!" Have we forgotten those words. When travelling to Beaumont still.... It is just sad that people can't judge one another by character and talent, the color of your skin is used, that is just wrong! I doubt racial harmony happens in Beaumont before my life time ends... There is a lot of history that has happened in Beaumont and the people there just can't get the skeletons out of the closets.

Got to admire that... That is what makes the PGA professionals different from other sports. Almost all of the time, the golfers do "referee" there own shots. I have seen numerous times when a PGA golfer calls a double hit on hisself. It really should be the "gentleman's" sport. -
I just got back from Allen, and that is a very affluent area, BUT, in Allen or anywhere, it's an indications of warped priorities. You could probably not find anyone who loves HS football as much as I do, but I keep things in correct perspective. HS sports are extracurricular, they ARE NOT supposed to be larger than the real reason schools exist: EDUCATION.
AMEN! $60 million is an awful lot of money...

Not losing one district game for almost four years in a row, that hasn't been equaled EVER since PN-G's dynasty years from 1974 to 1977. Burnett was good, but he was no Etheridge.
While most would agree from a coaching standpoint about Etheridge, the other factor in Matt's favor is that Matt was big part of PNG football in the 70's as well as a player.
True about that, Burnett was a big time player for the Indians, as a coach though... Etheridge gets the nod.
