There were a couple we played in the last two years that barely held the Dayton fan base. Speaking of which, where was the crowd Saturday night? I was working that night (first game I missed in a long while) but I saw some video and it looked like maybe 1500 Dayton fans. Was it because of the location (Huntsville)? Maybe deer season I guess.
1500 to 2000 Dayton fans were there..deer season probably took it's toll. -
Teams Might Flip For New Local Playoff Berths

Dayton's last two episodes of flipping for home and home came out quite well... What is the latest on Lamar's Stadium? Have they started doing work on it yet? -

Would be careful with this one... A lot of Indians were saying the samething about Barbers Hill. -

If PN-G gets ahead, Brenham will fill like Custard at Little Horn (literally). If PN-G surrounds the bowl with 10,000 + fans it will be an unreal site for the Bears when Cherokee is played.

Kind of stupid, but the third round is called the Regional round, even though it is not for the regional championship, which is the quarter final round. Bi-District Area Regional Quarter Finals Semi Finals State And.... It would be AWEsome if PN-G and Dayton were to lock up in the quarter final round.

I'm hoping this is a wake-up call to the players that they CAN make the playoffs. That they do have the talent to WIN.
I think your daddy has been lying to you all these years.. :o :o I know it's hard to accept, but there isn't a Santa Claus either!.. :'(
FUNNY! Congrats to Vidor on a great game! After the first two touchdowns, Vidor really did an AWEsome job of slowing down the Broncos. Just my opinion, but it looked like the Vidor offense line hasn't blocked a front seven as quick as the Broncos. Plenty of solid licks by both teams, a really great game.

20-4A, 19-4A.... It doesn't matter now! There are four teams 4A teams left east of Houston. GOOD LUCK TO ALL FOUR! With some AWEsome football playing hopefully all four will meet each other in three weeks! The real winner is the last one playing. Would be AWEsome if the region III champion went to the schools east of Houston.

1st half highlights (about 6) are now on youtube search for.... toupsgraphics enjoy! Will try to have the voice over highlight video done on Wednesday evening. Been falling behind this year (teaching 7th grade math, 8th grade math, prealgebra, and algebra each day, as well as making the preps for each lesson), it is a lot of work, but man do I have the GREATEST STUDENTS IN THE WORLD! Will also try to update the Jack in the Box pictures this week. WAY TO GO BRONCOS! ALWAYS BELIEVE!

Just curious about stadium sizes... I really think (taking out Reliant and Rice Stadium) Stallworth stadium is the largest high school field in the entire Houston area. Most stadiums (including Tully, Katy's stadium, even the Berry Center) all seat around 10,000. Galena Park's nice stadium barely holds over 9,000 (deceptive because it looks bigger). If you notice, these stadiums don't go goal line to goal line like Stallworth, so they don't hold as much. Stallworth holds right at 18,000 (9,000 on each side), PN-G had around 8,500, Barbers Hill had their side a little over half full (a lot of Dayton fans and others sat on that side (including Toups Graphics). Ashame Thorne stadium is so small, a lot of PN-G fans won't be able to go, I wonder if they limit the standing room tickets? Brenham will only bring about 3,000, plenty of space on the Brenham side for SETX fans to go watch the game. Not giving my prediction away, but.... PN-G and Angleton at Rice Stadium would be an AWEsome venue!!!

Finished the 1st half of the video... WHAT A GAME BY TONY HILL!!! Unbelievable! Two guys can't block him. After the 1st drive, Vidor was held to 1 first down in the first half. Fine tune the offense and Dayton looks like a big favorite in the next two games. I will try to post some of the highlights tonight. won't be the final voice over video, just some of the highlights.

This thread's name needs to change to.... 19 & 20-4A vs 24-4A. The showdown likely happens in two weeks. If OUR four teams all win this week, they could all four face a 24-4A opponent the in the Regional round of the playoffs.

Toups Graphics predicts the top two seeds advance, and that is what happened. All four games were competitive with all the players giving 110%. Congratulations to the winners and to the losers, what a great season for all. 19-4A and 20-4A is now down to the fantastic four! Central, PN-G, Crosby, and Dayton advance on to represent the 4A teams east of Houston. GOOD LUCK TO ALL FOUR TEAMS! 4A PLAYOFFS BIDISTRICT FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 Barbers Hill vs PN-G Stallworth Stadium, Baytown, TX 7:30 PM TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION PN-G 31 BARBERS HILL 17 THE RESULT PN-G 21 BARBERS HILL 7 Toups Graphics accurately predicts the two touchdown victory. Kudos to the Barbers Hill Eagles to holding the Indians to the very end. Just not enough fire power for the Eagles to put points on the board against a very good Indian defense. Offense is for show, but defense wins championships. PN-G's defense gets an A+ for keeping the Eagles out of the endzone enough to allow the victory. The future is bright for the Eagles, with a bumper crop of freshmen which will fill in the ranks next season. Goose Creek Memorial vs Central Babe Zaharias Stadium, Beaumont, TX 7:30 PM TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION CENTRAL 35 GOOSE CREEK MEMORIAL 7 THE RESULT CENTRAL 7 GOOSE CREEK MEMORIAL 0 The Jaguars win in a defensive show down. The Jaguars defense wins this game for Central posting a shutout. Central's offense has been sputtering for three weeks now. Can the Jaguars get the ball rolling. Thankfully for the Jaguars they have a defense that can shut out a playoff team. A great season for the 2nd year Patriots ends in a bi-district playoff game. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14 Crosby vs Nederland Woodforest Bank Stadium, The Woodlands, TX, 2 PM TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION CROSBY 42 NEDERLAND 21 THE RESULT CROSBY 35 NEDERLAND 29 The Cougars had the newspaper rolled up and were prepared to give the Bulldogs a spanking, when all of a suddent the Bulldogs turn the tables in the 4th quarter and mount an impressive come from behind charge, but it falls one touchdown short. The Bulldogs score 22 4th quarter points and had a chance with the ball at the end of the game, but the Cougar's defense comes up with a stop. A great season for the Bulldogs comes to an end Saturday at the Woodlands. Crosby survives to go to the area round of the playoffs. Dayton vs Vidor Bowers Stadium, Huntsville, TX 7:30 PM TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION DAYTON 41 VIDOR 14 THE RESULT DAYTON 28 VIDOR 14 The Pirates get the ball first and mount a 5 minute drive that gobbles up the clock, but on a 3rd down play around the 20 yard line the Pirates fumble the ball away. The Pirates go the rest of the 1st half without another first down. On Dayton's first offensive play of the game, Ploch turns the corner and is off to the races for an 80+ yard TD run. The Broncos are unable to mount the blowout in the first half and Vidor scores first in the second half. The Broncos hold on to a tedious 14 to 7 lead when Ploch strikes again with a long pass completion down to the 5 yard line. The touchdown forces the Pirates into a passing game when the Dayton defense scores the put away TD. The Pirates get a long drive for a TD at the end of the 4th quarter, but they use up all the clock. A very impressive defensive showing by the Broncos holds Vidor to a season low in offensive yardage. A great game by both teams. Congrats to the Pirates for a wonderful season. The Broncos win yet another playoff game and go one game closer to defending their Region III championship. TOUPS GRAPHICS POWER RANKINGS NOVEMBER 15 Their are only four 4A teams left playing that are east of Houston. The power rankings change to who will be playing the last game. All four teams should be favored to advance this week (not giving away my predictions), the key is the regional round of the playoffs, Central likely plays Friendswood in round 3, Crosby likely plays Dawson in round 3, PN-G likely plays a banged up but highly ranked Angleton team, and Dayton will likely draw HISD's Yates. Of those four games, Dayton will likely be favored by football gurus (although all four have a chance). Over the next two games the Dayton Broncos easily are in the best part of the bracket. #1 Dayton - At the beginning of the playoffs, just studying the brackets, Dayton really drew a good spot. If Dayton continues to play good defense look for them to be in the quarter-final game. #2 PN-G - The highest ranking team east of Houston really draws a hard path to the quarterfinals. If the Indians can topple Brenham they draw Angleton, then likely Dayton. A brutal three game stretch drops the Indians to #2 in the rankings. #3 Crosby - Should win the area round, but will play Dawson in the following week. The Cougar offense will really have to fire on all cylinders for the Cougars to be playing in three weeks. #4 Central - The Jaguars have a great team, but unless they can get the offense clicking, in the following week they should draw Friendswood. The Jaguars will have to improve to stay with the Mustangs. Dayton vs. Waller predictions?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to knightrider's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Nederland beat Waller early this year. Waller did beat Brenham, but the Bears might have been resting players the week before playoffs. Regardless, they are a run based offense. Except for three possessions, ask Vidor what it is like trying to run against the Broncos defense. -
Xavier Baldwin was playing... I think... They may be trying to reduce the number of people going both ways. TOUPS GRAPHICS HERO OF THE GAME.... Tony Hill!!! What a "manly man!" Played both ways and for the most part of the game shut down the middle of the field for Vidor to run in. Vidor scores in 3rd quarter, that was the first points allowed by Dayton's defense it 2 1/2 games! Last three games the defense has given up only 14 points. Franks didn't do as good as a job as running back, but will hopefully improve weekly.

Vidor vs. Dayton Predictions?

Hope all you Pirate fans have life jackets. You will need them when the Black Pearl goes down. Can't wait to see the Bronco defense shut down another running team. -
You are making it sound like PNG played a bad game. they didn't. yes you got inside the 30 a bit but it was the barbers hill D that stopped you not yourselves. and that fumble on 4th, he was not getting the 1st anyway. Barbers Hill's D played a great game last night. Proud of you boys. PNG, for being the power house in that district, I was not that impressed. They have not improved much from the beginning of the season. I don't know if the boys did not fire off last night, but to go to state, or even past the 2nd round, you are going to need way more than you showed last night.
Agree.... Odds are... Central and PN-G won by a combined 28 points. I could easily see Crosby and or Dayton winning today by at least that amount. The #3 and #4 seeds of 19-4A gave the #1 and #2 seeds of 20-4A all they could handle.
-
The PN-G that squeeked out with a win against Barbers Hill last night is better than the Brenham team that got crushed by Dayton last year. Brenham's schedule doesn't look that impressive, especially losing to Waller. PN-G better come away with points when they get inside the 20. Barbers Hill did a great job of stopping PN-G with no points last night on a few of the drives. Not giving too much away in my next weeks predictions, but.... PN-G should advance to round 3.

Word is during the gift exchange before the game we are going to give you a pair of Chuck Taylor sneakers tied to a bouquet of balloons that look like basketballs ;) Might want to check out the blow out special on basketball gear at Acadamy on Saturday morning on your way to the game, will come in handy Monday morning. -
Man the stadium is fantastic. Personnel at the location are great and should be an all out battle in a first class establishment. Little Ponies from Dayton will go home with their heads hung low!
Actually... We could probably pull up our 7th grade Ponies to finish off the game, even then, Vidor still might not be able to score. Pirates being stampeded by Broncos won't be a pretty site. -

Stadium Director said with senior day and everything else going on, most likely will not open up the stadium until 6:30 for the game between Vidor and Dayton. The point being, don't get in a hurry.
