[/quote] PN-G is really in a tough part of the bracket. Region III in 4A is really weak this year and is for the taking. I think the top 4 teams in division II are PN-G, Angleton, Brenham, and Dayton (in no particular order). Three of those teams are on the same side of the bracket. I think the winner of the Dayton Vidor game rolls to the Quarter Finals, but from past experience, DON'T LOOK PAST THE WEEK YOU ARE IN!  The 19-4A division II 1st seed really did pull the easy part of the bracket.

Having seen the 19-4A teams... There is a big drop off between Dayton and Crosby then the 3rd and 4th place teams, the same is probably true with PN-G and Central. The top two teams are 1st and 2nd for a reason, they are better than the 3rd and 4th place teams. Look for all four top seeds to advance, if there is an upset.... I think it will be from Barbers Hill and GC Memorial.

Just thought of this... But if you are going to central Texas for deer hunting and are coming back Sunday.... Don't come back down I-10

A popular playoff site in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds is to play at Katy or Spring Branch's Tully Stadium. That puts Beaumont area traffic on I-10 to the west side of Houston... IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION ANNOUNCEMENT! I-10 EAST BOUND (going BACK to Beaumont) will be under construction for about 90 days between I-45 and HWY 59 (which is the downtown area).  There will be only ONE! ONE! that's right ONE! lane open for the 90 days on I-10 east bound as it goes under I-45 (there are currently two lanes now). I don't think traffic west bound will be affected (going to the games), but coming home from the games It would be prudent to bypass the downtown area by taking the 610 loop north around downtown. If you are travelling to central Texas this weekend and coming back on Saturday or Sunday... I-10 WILL BE SHUT DOWN east bound at downtown Houston!!!! Don't travel toward Beaumont this weekend on I-10 around downtown Houston or you will be sitting in a parking lot as you are diverted to I-45. A link to the TX Dot site is below... [Hidden Content]

They have totally redone I-10 all the way from The Trinity River to the Brazos River except for the part of I-10 that goes through downtown (between I-45 and HWY 59). They are doing the east bound lanes first. On Monday when they reopen I-10 there will only be ONE!  ONE!  ONE! lane open on this road as it goes under I-45 (currently there are only two).  They said this would take an estimated 90 days. If you travel through here often... Talk about a major headache!

Back to the topic of the game... BIG TIME TRAFFIC UPDATE!! I-10 Eastbound will be CLOSED this weekend between I-45 and HWY 59!!! Don't think this will affect the west bound traffic (going to the football game), but for sure don't go down I-10 past downtown Houston on the way back! The quickest way to get to Austin from Dayton is to go down HWY 90 and get on I-10 then go to Columbus then take HWY 71 into Austin, the stadium is right off HWY 290 as you get to HWY 183 (on the east side of Austin before I-35). I would for sure take the HWY 290 route to the game! Lots of ways to get to HWY 290 from Dayton, go to the Beltway, turn NORTH, follow the BWY around past the airport, over I-45 and then to HWY 290.  If you don't want to pay the toll, after you pass I-45 exit the BWY and stay on the feeder road all the way to HWY 290. I will try to update my web page with this information... In summary... Try to avoid I-10 at downtown Houston this weekend.

The 2009 PN-G team would get destroyed by the teams 20-4A put out in the 70's. Little Joe Washington would run at will against this team. Even the West Brook state championship team (which was in the same district) would beat this team. The team Dayton had for the two years it was in that district would demolish this team. Remember what happened the last time PN-G played Dayton with a chance to win the district championship outright...
