2009 Dave Campbell SETX District Predictions 19-4A
PURPLE 4EVER replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
IMO Dayton will be way out in front again. I see three shut outs in district play with teams struggling to reach into the 20's against the Bronco's defense. The real battle will be for 2nd place. -
GOOD NEWS FOR DAYTON! By the way... PURPLE 4EVER checking in from my summer job in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania (summer camp photographer). Life up in the mountains is GOOD! Has only been over 80 degrees a couple of times ALL SUMMER!!! July 4 the high temp was 72 degrees with a low of 48!!!! Taking about 400 pictures a day up here trying to stay in touch with back home. Please post pictures of the new scoreboard as it is built. Can't wait to see the Broncos in action in 2009. Got a great filling about the Bronco's defense and with our new addition from Crosby it will only improve the offense. See you guys in August, until then I will keep wearing my jacket every morning enjoying the FREE AIR CONDITIONER supplied by mother nature!

PNG far and away has the largest fan following.

Ok,why isn't anyone giving me a year this all went down? It was about half a decade ago... Judging from your posts, you might have just graduated from kindergarten

GO KLVI!

I would list the teams... but they aren't in your "peer group" so you might not know them. Of coarse they have to credible like a lufkin, brenham, la marque , texascity someone of that nature, if not than keep them to yourself. When your football season ends this year, and the scoreboard is off for good. Feel free to come watch the Broncos play.
-
I don't think MHS would want to find out what it is like to tangle with the Broncos. Just ask the Bulldogs how a fancy scoreboard helped them out the last time they played Dayton.

Protecting Black Panthers - Is It Racism??

one of the bottom lines in all of this is... If you are a white male YOU ARE GETTING HOSED! If a white male were doing this he would be in prison. Can't wait till the white male is in the minority so we can get some of the affirmitative action pie. Hopefully those idiots won't do this again. If they do they really need to be prosecuted. -
Toups Graphics first fearless prediction.... Leading rusher in 20-4A and maybe... the entire SE TX region... Dayton sophomore... Jakari Delasbour uh, Purple, is Dayton moving into our district this coming year?......lol, How about leading rusher in district 19 4-a. too much going on when i typed this... thanks for the correction... still would say he would be the leading rusher from both districts. 19-4A just doesn't have the defenses that 20-4A would have.

A fancy scoreboard won't win you the last two quarter final championships either! I would much rather have a "regular" scoreboard and watch my team beat everybody else in the region than watch the playoffs after one game.
-
That would be one reason not to have one, they have no business looking at replays. Besides UIL rules state that you can only replay a play once during the game. It is not worth the money for what you get. Its just bells and whistles, no real value. Like i said, y'all can do what you want. Bells and whistles would be defined as "atmosphere" to me, and it makes the game that much better. Yours truly, The GOAT Bells and Whistles DON'T win you football games. Rather spend the $$$ on EDUCATING the kids than on a scoreboard. Besides.... I would rather have the atmosphere of the football game created by the home team scoring touchdown after touchdown. Life has been good in Bronco stadium as of lately, and no fancy scoreboard was needed. Perhaps not, but they do get you advertisements, which make the scoreboard a potentially profitable venture for the school district. PN-G's, for instance, is already bringing in about $70,000 and has the potential to bring in another $30,000 before it's all over with. That's two teacher salaries or extra money for the science, performing arts, athletics, and other extra-curricular budgets right there. Different scenario in Dayton. PN-G can access a much greater business revenue for it's advertisement.. Dayton is limited to two grocery stores, a hardware store, several feed stores, two vet offices, and a rail yard (just to mention a few). Kind of feel sorry for the local businesses here, every group of kids that does fund raisers has to hit the same people over and over. You are right, however... The revenue generated from the advertisement which can be shown on a replay screen can only help. Strange... I don't remember seeing many advertisements on the Nederland jumbotron when Dayton last played there, but that was the first year. GOOD LUCK INDIANS THIS YEAR!!!! Make this PN-G alum awful proud!

Any one know when they will start putting in the scoreboard?
-
The GOAT hasn't figured out how much it costs to install one of those boards, plus furnish the cabling and cameras to complete the package. This is an unessential waste of taxpayer money to put a replay board in a high school stadium, UNLESS it is purchased and maintained through outside sponsors. Ask Nederland how good it felt to watch the nine touchdowns scored by the Broncos play over on their highlight score board. Although nice to have such things, it is not essential. As previously stated, the most important part of the scoreboard is to have the Bronco side with many points and the opponent as close to zero as possible.

Best Athlete To Come Through Setx Since 2000....
PURPLE 4EVER replied to ozensfinest's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I wasn't fortunate enough to see him play, but Jamaal Charles has to be in the discussion. From what I have seen from the games I have videoed, the best player east of Houston has been AJ Dugat, but I have only videoed the Dayton games and their opponents. Cody Green is way up there as is the Friendswood QB, but he is not east of Houston. For the two years Dayton was in 22-4A would have to say the Central QB at the time was the best athlete Dayton faced. So many quality players we get to see. -
fastest football player in setx?
PURPLE 4EVER replied to ozenfreshman's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
AMEN! Some people can just turn on the turbo boosters on better than others. Don't know how to define it, but you know it when you see it. Many times you see a running back blast through the line quicky, but is chased down by the D-Backs even though it doesn't look like he is slowing down, others just naturally pull away when in open field. -

There is a HUGE difference between track speed and football speed. Whenever a player has pads on and is on the field running with the ball, some people can just turn the turbo boosters on, it is very apparent in many of the videos I do. AJ Dugat had football speed, might not have been quick on a track, but on the football field, when he broke out in the open, he pulled away from the opposition. NFL example of this is Barry Sanders, there is just an instinct and elusiveness that improves your football speed, it is NOT the same as running on a track. Don't know the Beaumont area too well, but watch out for Jakari Delasbour from Dayton next year (a freshmen, and from what they are saying he might be the quickest Bronco yet). He had one touchdown last year against CE King of about 60 yards, and when he crossed the goal line he was at least 15 yards ahead of the defenders. The video is on hsgametime.com... Will try to get the link up soon. As far as going way back, I sure would have loved to see Little Joe Washington play. From what I hear, he might have been the all time quickest and most elusive player in SETX history, although you got to say Jamaal Charles was in the same league. -
Don't forget... Moises and Ball Point will be BACK! The 2009 Broncos might just have one of the best defensive front seven's east of the Brazos. I don't see any running team being able to put more than three TD's on us... The big question mark will be the replacements of Green and Dugat. They won't be replaced with equal talent, but the many parts of the offense might still be too much for an opposing team to slow down. Dayton will have a slew of speedy receivers and will probably have the top rusher in SE Texas. Can't wait till the Bay City trip!!! DON'T STOP BELIEVING!!!

i play 3 tec for freshmen i got moved in with the varsity and jv teams which is in 6th period and right now payton is at quarter back but when he leaves all we will have is 5'7" andreas herrara he has a good arm but i really dont think hes anywhere near ready to play varsity Russell Cook After the 2009 football season look for one of the 8th graders to be leading the Broncos at QB. This year Pony Land is sending up a bumber crop of future Broncos. Coach Stewart and his coaches will keep the talent train alive for the foreseeable future.

At least that is what the sheep are brainwashed into believing... Remember... The DEMOCRATIC congress was in charge of oversight of the mortgage companies, which basically started all this mess. Also... GW was not in charge of AIG. Greed was the cause of this current mess, but it was due to lack of oversight on the part of the executive and legislative branches of the government. I was so mad Bush did the first bailout of the banks, then Obama continued the insanity. To believe Bush was at fault for everything is just not right. BOTH PARTIES were responsible for this calamity.

And the next generation will be the gr-gr-grandfather...then the next will be the gr-gr-gr-grandfather, then the next...... No matter how many generations you look at (and it has been about 7 generations or almost 150 years ago), when do you move on? 200 years? 300? Strategy of a typical left winger.... Use the past (no matter how far back) to justify their socialistic agenda, and maybe even get free stuff from the government.

You know he is hoping and praying that in a week or two that this will be water under the bridge. He has probably told Pelosi to SHUT UP! -
How Truthful Is Pelosi???
PURPLE 4EVER replied to PURPLE 4EVER's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Will be interesting to see what the democrats do? Circle the wagons and protect Pelosi, or throw her overboard and reelect a new speaker. She CERTAINLY is not being truthful. -
Now look what we got... A president who spent BILLIONS to bail out GM, and they are still going bankrupt. Someone who said he would reverse many of Bush's "controversial" terror war measures, but he is still going on with the tribunals, not releasing pictures (although he said he would), and not going to close Gitmo. On top of that our Speaker (two heart beats away from the presidency) has lied so many times the last three weeks she can't even say her words from the heart in a news conference. Bush may have made some mistakes, but the democrats sure don't have clean hands in all this mess we are in.
