Why does it need to be bigger???? I would think that more people that live in Cy-Fair will attend games that live in Beaumont. WRONG! The Beaumont area EASILY averages more per home game than the Houston area, the stadiums are larger since more than one school shares the stadium. Having grown up in SE Texas and having seen football games in the Houston area, SE Texas has more passion for high school football. Seems like the Cy Fair stadium should hold more than it does, I guess the double deck just makes it look a lot larger. I believe Stallworth Stadium has the largest seating capacity of any high school stadium around here (in Houston or Beaumont). I believe PN-G's stadium does have the largest home side seating of any stadium in this part of the state.

AGREE! Of all the sports televised, March Madness is the tops! There is no other event where the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat is more apparent than in the 63 games of the NCAA basketball tournament. But.... If given a choice of attending one of the events, I would pick a Friday Night Lights high school football game.

New PN-G Helmet Look For 09
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
PN-G needs to stick to the classic helmet design it had in the 70's. I was told by the coaches that PN-G owns the copyright to that design (don't know if he was joshing with me or what). -
Texas/Baylor Updates Baylor wins, 76-70!!!

Dayton's Henry Dugat had a HUGE GAME!!! It is a real treat to watch the local kids perform at the next level. I really hope Baylor can pull one more game off! GOOD LUCK TO THE BEARS!!! -
For those voting for Barbers Hill... Dayton will at Bronco Stadium by at least 21 points over the Eagles. If the coach at North Forest continues to improve the program, I think North Forest might be the toughest game for the Broncos. The Broncos lose the biggest two playmakers in SETX, but they bring back a lot on defense, and look for Jakari Delasbour to be one of the top rushers in the area. The offensive and defensive lines for the Broncos will be solid. I think... Dayton is one with Crosby and North Forest battling for #2.

*Dayton vs HJ Updates...Dayton Wins 6-5!!*

Was the game tieing double an error on the 1st baseman? Was hit solidly, but didn't see if the 1st baseman had a shot at making a play. If he was able to make a play on the ball, the game would have been over. The pitcher that went in only gave up a fly ball for an out, but it was deep enough to get the sacrifice run home. -
Do not need any more stuff bros!!!!!!!! Get the most expensive meal on the menu.

IMO... The kids have much better nutrition than they did even two decades ago. If you take a kid in athletics, and the kid's parents have the finances to purchase Muscle Milk or any other high protien drink, and the kid drinks them after a good workout in the weight room, THEY WILL BULK UP TREMENDOUSLY!. No need for steriods. As previously stated. Take a young kid in high school who works their butt off in the weight room and give him some protien supplements the kid will build up his muscle mass. Don't sell the young kids short who are doing this. I really don't see steriods as an "overwhelming" issue currently in high school. Sure it is used, but I just don't see 10% of our youth STUPID enough to destroy their bodies with steriods.

Best Running Back in Southeast Texas In 09
PURPLE 4EVER replied to garrett's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Jakari Delasbour Next year he will be a sophomore at Dayton. Look for him to easily be in the top 10 rushers in SETX. At the Nederland track meet he won 1st place in the long jump (not bad for a freshman). The kid is a great athlete and could possibly be one of the quickest running backs that Coach Stewart has had. Will be interesting to see how Dayton's offense will take shape next year. Cody and AJ are really going to be missed, but there is plenty of ammo coming up for Coach Stewart. -
Can't watch the video yet, but I was there on the field (trainer for the team at the time). I remember Lamar being in the game, getting the ball in the 4th quarter, if we scored we would have gone ahead, we tried a double reverse with a pitch back to the QB, the receiver was wide open, but the QB got sacked and the tide turned for the rest of the game. Talk about an amazing facility! We played at (what used to be the Fiesta Bowl). The playing surface was like a putting green, the best field I have ever been on. Talk about some memories. The team had a good time on the trip to Pheonix.

Dayton just beat two of the top 10 teams... Look for the Broncos to start moving up the rankings. -
With what Dayton has coming up the pipeline... It will take a long for Liberty to be able to compete evenly with Dayton

1977 team.... The season ended with a record crowd of around 49, 500 at Texas Stadium The memories are all still there.

Just curious.... Was the Barbers Hill vs Longview game (which was cancelled by IKE) a two year deal? If not... Is there any chance of Dayton taking on Longview? As previously posted... Lets ALL HOPE we get the whole season in without interruption. -
Thanks for the information...

How many innings did Kolarik pitch? -
Funny story, but kind of nasty... While in college, the baseball players (after a really good practice) used to take their chewwing tobaco after practice and place it in the rafters of the dug out. The next day they would take the tobacco and "reuse it", to continue the "good luck". A lot of superstition in the baseball dugout. After my year of being a college baseball trainer, I made a vow that if I ever had a daughter, she would steer clear of college baseball players (they are a breed all in themselves), thankfully I only have a son and don't have to worry about that. Just curious.... Is tobacco also not allowed on the college baseball fields anymore????

Dugat Dayton’s first Parade All-American
PURPLE 4EVER replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Nice article in the chronicle today.... [Hidden Content] “We’re going to win with Texas guys. As I’ve said since the first day I got here, we’re the fourth-largest city in America and the greatest football-playing state in America, so we’re going to find 25 guys that we can win with.†The most glittering gem Cougars’ class is Dayton’s A.J. Dugat, a dynamic wide receiver who was first-team All-State and a Parade All-America selection after finishing with 1,755 receiving yards and scoring 28 touchdowns last season. “A.J. is a very, very exciting player with the ball in his hands,†Sumlin said. “He’s a guy that I would call a ‘wire-to-wire’ player. That means that he’s a threat to score anytime you get the ball in his hands. I think he’s going to come in here and really compete and push some people. -
The Division II in 4A is MUCH weaker than the Division I (for region III). Where is Lamarque? Division I in region III is LOADED with quality teams. Will be a much tougher road to get out of Region III in 4A. Central is really getting hosed in this plan. No local schools in there district. Looks good for Dayton in this plan, and for Livingston, which comes back into the district with Dayton.
