Dayton wins another district championship. The rest battle for 2nd.

I would rather lose a game predistrict and be playing for the state title game in December. Oh, by the way.... In the final AP poll.... Dayton is ahead of friendswood. Enjoy basketball... Next year the Bronco - Mustang game is in Dayton.

Not mentioning sources, but.... when I was putting up the 15 pictures from the state final game at Jack In The Box there was talk about a very good QB moving into Dayton. Any more news of this??? Even with losing AJ and Cody, the Broncos will still be a force to contend with. Will probably have the quickest defense in this area and maybe even the best offensive and defensive lines.

WHAT A COMBINATION THESE TWO HAVE BEEN SINCE 7TH GRADE! I have been so lucky to see these two in action for the last six years. Some amazing athletes and great role models for the young kids in Dayton. These two will truly be missed in Dayton Bronco Football. Some of the images... Mike, good article... I am so lucky to have on my computer the video and images of this fantastic season. A video montage is in the making, hopefully I can do this season justice. I will start another thread, but the highlights of the whole game are up. Make sure you check out the TD 7 highlight! What a fantastic catch right in front of the camera man. The way the game ended was very fitting to both teams. What a game, many records set by both teams. If any of you can research the records I would appreciate it...

Could one of you with the research power look up and see if these are records for an 11 man state title game..... Total Points Scored - 118 (heard this was a record) Points Scored by Losing Team - 49 Total first downs - 63 Total Combined Offensive Yardage - 1,402 Offensive Yardage from Losing Team - 624 Points scored in first half - 77 (42 to 35) I am estimating the attendance was about 15,000 (not a record), but do they keep the attendance estimates for the games anymore, and does someone know the actual or estimated attendance for this game? If it is around 15,000 that would be the largest crowd the Broncos have ever played in front of, at least since I have been in Dayton. I am needing these numbers to make the video for the Broncos. Would appreciate your help... Also, if there are other records from this game, I would like to know them also. ps.... Going through the game video, the Sulphur Springs QB really made some unbelievable throws. The Broncos were about 1/2 step away from making several key stops, but the QB delivered the ball right on the money. 2nd half highlights will be posted this afternoon. IT WAS THE HALFTIME SCORE AND IT WAS BACKWARDS! In a game that featured an amazing combined 1,402 yards of offense, 63 first downs, and a combined point total of 118 points (a record in the state title game) the Bronco stampede could not keep pace with the Wild Cats. The scoring slowed in the second half as the Broncos scored two touchdowns to the Wild Cats four touchdowns. The Broncos never really recovered from an onside kick recovery by the Wild Cats in the third quarter. The ending of the game was fitting to the season as both sides of the stadium ( a Toups Graphics estimate of 14,000 to 16,000 ) gave a standing ovation to all the players involved in this record setting state final performance. Nothing impacts a small community in Texas like a successful high school football team! Lots of kids from Dayton will be going to San Antonio today, like wise from Sulphur Springs. Good luck to everyone involved in taking care of ALL the kids today, tonight, and tomorrow. It will be a couple of days these kids will NEVER forget! Can't wait till the game!! Everyone have a safe round trip!
