Since the Astrodome is shutdown (nothing like 20,000 plus Indian fans in the dome) I think the Berry Center is top notch in the Houston area. Stallworth Stadium is nice. Galena Park has a nice facility also.

If unsuccessful on Friday, Nederland could be staring at a four game losing streak to end the season. (OUCH)

If Dayton's defense can step up and shut down CE King's running game, that will be an AWEsome sign of the Broncos getting out of the Houston region. It seems like the coaches finally have the players positioned correctly, now it's time to perform. Last week (except for three or four plays) Galena Park couldn't really do anything against the Bronco defense.

who The title of the thread is "What does Livingston have to do?". If they win out, they could be district champs (if Nederland can beat Lumberton). Other than that, Livingston needs to have in writing how tie breakers and seeding will occur BEFORE the games are played on Friday.

Sadly, this week, Yoda, using all his mystical forces would have a tough time getting all eight games correct. Five of the eight games could go either way including North Forest vs Barbers Hill, GC Memorial vs Kingwood Park, Livingston vs Central, PN-G vs Ozen, and Nederland vs Vidor. In 19-4A Dayton and CE King will play for the district championship and Barbers Hill will host North Forest in a game which will probably decide 4th place and the final playoff spot. The real action will be in 20-4A where three of the four games should be barn burners. Toups Graphics picks the Nederland vs Vidor game as the 20-4A game of the week. 19-4A North Forest vs Barbers Hill Barbers Hill is in the midst of a two game losing streak while last week North Forest broke a three game losing streak. The winner of this game will virtually lock up the last remaining playoff spot. This should be a close game. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION GAME OF THE WEEK Nederland vs Vidor What a dan dan dandy this game will be. Nothing beats the Friday Night environment like a Vidor homecoming, put on top of that it's Halloween, and man, do the Dog's have a task ahead of them. Last week the Bulldogs couldn't outscore the Lions while the Pirates notched another victory. A Vidor win will eliminate the Bulldogs and create a situation where BOTH PN-G and Nederland DON'T make the playoffs. That hasn't happened in years. If Nederland losses they will be staring at the last two years of a season ending collapse which has kept them out of the playoffs. Will Vidor finally break through and make the playoffs, or will the Dog's resuscitate their season. Who will win Friday in Vidor? Check back Thursday for.... So it turns out to be all about how many points you scored and not who you beat? Depends on what the rules are and.... if they are changed... Technically, if there is a three way tie for 3rd, one team would be eliminated. The rules need to laid out BEFORE the games take place this Friday.

Rarely does a Dayton team go into district undefeated. Seems like we always lose one early in the season. I would much rather do that and finish the season strong. The games with WO-S were excellent games.

Correct, and I think this has helped them build there high school program. Last years play off groups was a force when they were in junior high. If you win in junior high and don't have another school merging in with you when you go to high school.

I got a good feeling Lumberton won't lose another district game. Is there anyway you get a four way tie for 2nd with Vidor, Nederland, Central, and Livingston. Three would be in and one would be out. If I were Livingston, I would make sure I get in writing how tiebreakers would be decided, and I would do it before the games are played on Friday.

I thought Lumberton still had one junior high. Barbers Hill is in the same situation. It seems like it is easier to implement your program from top to bottom if you only have one junior high. You do get more kids involved with two junior highs, but as one of the coaches said, you sure don't come out with 22 starters if you have 2 junior highs. When I was in school and still in Jefferson county, it always seemed that in PN, Nederland, or Vidor, most of the time one of the junior highs was just a lot better than the other one. Right now in Nederland it seems like CO Wilson is better than Central.

I CAN'T WAIT!!! Three difficult picks in 20-4A. Nederland vs Vidor Livingston vs Central PN-G vs Ozen Each game could go either way... Will be difficult to get all three correct. Being the fact that it is Halloween... Edge goes to Mike this week.

Just wondering what the members of this forum think about this... I grew up in PN where we have two junior highs feeding into PN-G. Vidor and Nederland are in the same situation. Over the last decade I have watched Coach Stewart in Dayton transform the ENTIRE athletic program from 7th to 12th. I think having only one junior high has helped tremendously (athletically). When I was coaching in Dayton, Lumberton only had one junior high. There are pros and cons about having one and two junior highs, but I would say that in 4A, Dayton is very lucky to only have one junior high feeding into the high school. The varsity coaches are at the junior high every Tuesday night and know ALL the athletes by the time they get into junior high. In 5A it is not practical to only have one junior high, but.... In 4A if you were setting up your district (athletic purposes only) would you only want one junior high or two? and the pros and cons on both.

Need some votes on which will be my 22-4A Game of the Week Central vs Livingston A HUGE Game, with both already losing to Lumberton the district championship is probably not on the line., the game is not an elimation game. If either team wins one out of two they are probably in. This game could go either way and will feature some fantastic high school athletes. OR..... Nederland AT Vidor Nothing beats a Vidor homecoming and this game is monstrous! Vidor has a real chance of making the playoffs. If Nederland loses this one, they could be looking at ending the season with a four game losing streak. Both games should be dandy.... What game should be the district game of the week?

What is it gonna take.... ALWAYS BELIEVE Never stop believing. Every year can't be great. Even LaMarque is down this year. This is not college where you recruit your players, it is not the NFL where you can go and sign a free agent. PN-G has the players it has and that is it. Do the best you can and keep on believing! GROW UP AND SUPPORT THE COACHES AND KIDS! Complaining will get you no where! Do you think the coaches are INTENTIONALLY not doing the best they can! Burnett's staff is one of the few in the area that has coached a team in the state final. The coaches spend hours and hours after practice trying to put the players in the best position to result in a victory. The kids are giving all they can. Just keep on believing. PN-G will win at least one of their remaining games if not both.

yeah regular games and scrimmages are way different. Lumberton will keep it close You mean close like in '06?? yeah im predicting Dayton take a quick exit out of the playoffs quick like l-town's '06 run? I can go all day. L-town and dayton will not meet in the first round... unless you guys implode and I don't see that happening. I know all the L-Town fans will be so upset that they get to play Crosby in the first round instead of Dayton.

I would much rather lose big in week 1 and start the winning ways late. Look at Dayton last year... After getting beat by Lumberton, they stampeded the competition until the semi finals.

Sad thought here.... It has been a long long time since both Nederland and PN-G have missed the playoffs. Could become reality this year...
