What a game! North Forest game Dayton a HUGE scare. Finally the Broncos came through with a HUGE 4th quarter! I see North Forest EASILY getting one of the top three spots in 19-4A, and PROBABLY winning their first round game. -

CONGRATS TO THE BULLDOGS!!! While I was watching the Bulldogs of North Forest putting the hurt to Dayton in the first half... My mojo was telling me the Indians weren't doing so good.... Good luck to both teams over the next few weeks. Should be a "dog" fight to get one of the top three playoff spots. -
Lets see..... Last year.... Dayton was playing with a 3rd string QB and several defensive people out... Lumberton said.... that didn't matter... now the shoe is on the other foot.... CONGRATS VIDOR!!! Wonder if Dave Campell will change those playoff predictions... Picking the top three teams from 20-4A will be REALLY tough! Good luck to ALL the teams! The Broncos will be waiting to play one of the teams. ps.... I wouldn't want to be paired against North Forest. Talk about a QUALITY team!

North Forest played an AWEsome game! Was really concerned in the 3rd quarter. Dayton had to punt on their first possession and pinned North Forest on the 5 yard line. North Forest didn't pass the ball once and drove down the field and scored. No one has done that against Dayton in a long time (running not throwing) North Forest has some superb athletes and thank goodness they finally have a coach that is directing their talent. For all you 20-4A teams.... I can see Dayton and North Forest winning in the first round. As for Dayton... Cody Green finally had some quality runs. In the 3rd and 4th quarter the offense finally started clicking. AJ made one of the greatest catches I have ever videoed to score the 1st TD of the 4th quarter. This was a great game. Will take a while to get the highlights up.

Mid County Madness Predictions?

What happened the last time a team wearing PURPLE AND WHITE played in Nederland???? The Bulldogs have nightmares of it. Won't be as bad as 63 - 0, but the Indian mascot will be dancing all night long. Indians win big! -
Just curious... Shouldn't this thread be on the Houston High School Forum??? BH fans.... I video all the junior high games at Dayton. BH has had very little talent coming through it's school district. That WILL change with the current 8th graders and 9th graders, both of those groups has serious talent, but the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade groups were just not as good as what BH has put through in the past (this is just what I have witnessed in the one game a year that BH plays in Dayton). If there are not any freshmen playing varsity this year, there will be a few, maybe more sophomores playing varsity next year, the current 8th and 9th graders are just much more talent blessed than their upperclassmen.

The Bronco varsity team practice on monday morning. They will play two games next week, on Tuesday and Saturday. No games will be played this week.

Normalcy slowing returning... Dayton ISD... Teachers report Wednesday, kids report on Thursday. Liberty ISD is planning on returning Thursday (if they get electricity). I hope everyone is getting back home safely. We all need to keep the families who are without in our prayers.

If you have Verizon, my mom called me yesterday and said they are discounting your September bill if you leave in a disaster county, but you have to sign up. Didn't get any specifics on how much they are discounting. God Bless to everyone. PURPLE 4EVER

Crystal Beach/ Port Bolivar ????????
PURPLE 4EVER replied to lovethegame19's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Not much left, this is the area that took the brunt of the storm surge. It sure makes you feel for natures power. Not much can survive that much water rolling through. The west side of Galveston should be oh so thankful the eye went to the east of them. It the eye would have crossed over around Freeport, what happened in Crystal Beach would have been the west side of Galveston (45% of the tax base of that city). -

POSSIBLE GASOLINE SHORTAGE THIS WEEKEND! My brother in law operates several water utility districts on the west side of Houston. Most of his generators are running on diesel. He has talked to several distributors, they have diesel, but are running out of gasoline. He said this weekend there could be gas stations simply running out of gasoline. We are now importing all our gasoline and we might be close to running dry. As far as he knew, as of Wednesday, most of the refineries where still off line. I think the country might just find out how important the economies of east Houston and SETX are when you have 25% of the nations refining capacity off line for over a week. Any of you refinery workers know if they have most of the refineries up and running? We also need to remember, as far as area impacted, this might be the granddaddy of ANY hurricane ever to hit the USA. From HWY 6 in Houston to SW Louisiana there are STILL major outages. That is a huge junk of land especially considering one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country is on the western fringe of the destruction area. With that much area damaged it is just not possible for the state and federal governments to wave a magic wand and make everything ok. To me, what is most important is getting the heavy industry up and running, (seems like they still haven't gotten there). People just have to be PATIENT and be thankful for the weather. At least it isn't as hot as it was after Rita. Take care of your families and if possible help out the local governments. -
I was in Groesbeck during the storm and figured that BH really got hammered. Prayers and best wishes goes out to all the people in BH. Hopefully they will get everything up and running quickly.

Jefferson County residents are so lucky that storm surge was just 1 foot below the levee level. To think of a storm surge topping the levee is just unimaginable. To all the people in Orange County. God Bless to all of you. Be safe. Together as a community you all will be stronger after the storm than before. Keep us who evacuated informed to what's going on. ALWAYS BELIEVE PURPLE 4EVER

This is PURPLE 4EVER. I left Friday with my mom who lives in Groves. We are doing ok in the Hilton of Limestone County (it's actually the only hotel in the whole county). I am in Groesbeck (by Waco). My house in Dayton is ok. God Bless to all of you. My mom and I got more information about Beaumont from this site than any other. For those who stayed behind, be smart and safe.

mandatory evacuation... probably can't even get a hotel room. Liberty and Dayton will probably get pounded by 100 + winds. I live in Dayton, was going to my mom's in Groves, now she is coming here and we are getting out towards Waco or Temple, maybe even Abilene. For Christ's sake... GET OUT!!!! The water is ALREADY splashing over the seawall in Galveston and the strand is already getting water in it. This could be a historic storm surge. Everything from Galveston Bay to Sabine Pass below I-10 could recieve water from this storm surge. -

22 FEET!!!! Channel 39 said they were expecting a 22 foot storm surge where the eye crosses. If that goes into the west end of Galveston... Talk about a disaster if they have people taking refuge on the island. -

One of the largest metropolitan areas in the country could be facing category 3 hurricane winds, and there still isn't a coordinated evacuation effort. I foresee an unorganized mass exodus out of Houston tomorrow. Looking at the satellite loops of the storm, it is getting larger and the eye wall is getting better organized. -

The plan from the Galveston mayor.... "The city is also going to provide shelters on the island, but not until Friday. Mayor Thomas also has asked people who stay to shelter in place. " I think Nagin had the same idea....
