Sheldon C.E. King at Nederland/Post scrimmage comments here!
Bigdog replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
Not sure, but Neumann usually prefers a live scrimmage with no kicking. -
Yeah, Neumann does a pretty good Hooks impression sometimes.
-
Lol. And how many "favorable calls" has WO-S gotten over the years? Especially when Hooks was there? Whatever.
-
white horse
-
Nah, we just have the NFD come out and water the field.
-
Yep. They have probably made some minor changes but the color scheme has been pretty much the same.
-
Same year. He graduated with me.
-
The uniforms were switched to the current look my senior year. '91 season. Although they didn't add the numbers to the helmets until later I think..
-
Ughh. I don't want to see them go back to those old Steelers looking uniforms even for one game.

Even with Charles on the team in '03 and 04. (And Charles by the way is one of those once in a generation players, there probably isn't another one coming down the pipe anytime soon.)

Ah, I though your were talking about Ned.
-
Most of them were in a different division. I think we saw maybe Dayton and LM twice the years we played them non-district.
-
Nope. Just an example of teams Neumann has scheduled non-district: Angleton WO-S LaMarque Brenham Friendswood Texas City Crosby Dayton So what are we ducking? A team that goes out in the first round most years or misses the playoffs.
-
6A district.
-
Improved coaching- debatable. Your the one who called him "Xbox". And as far as players goes, Lincoln and Tj had players as well and couldn't beat Ned once in a decade. Pam couldn't hold their own jockstrap in that district, so why are you worried about Ned, sounds like envy to me.
-
Nobody's ducking, that's why we play teams like WO-S,Crosby, Dayton, etc. As far as that one game, good for you. That was the first time Lincoln beat Ned in 11 years. Lol. And TJ didn't beat Ned in the last 6 years. So tell me again why we would be ducking??
-
Good for you. Now lets see if you can beat Ned before your coach gets run off.
-
Pretty much hit the nail on the head there. Passing game will be for naught if the o-line can't block.
-
6 more wins than you have. In fact, you have beat Ned only once since your stadium was renovated in '09. So tell me again how facilities win games?
-
Do you remember what Ned's helmets used to look like? Pre- 1991 I mean. Those were ugly.
-
And,... any questions ? especially the the last five or six years?
-
You probably have already seen it, but the South African swimmer decided to poke the bear. Don't poke the bear!!!
-
I don't remember that far back, lol. Old age.
-
Just a small comparison, but PNG's Brandon Faircloth took the head coaching job in 2009 (7 years) Of those 7 years he has had 6 winning seasons over .500 (2012 the only year under .500) He has lead his team to the playoffs all 6 of those winning seasons, and been past the first round 3 times. (2009,2010,2015) Overall winning percentage of 63.75% (51-29)
-
Also, as far as Vidor goes, lets look at the numbers. Jeff Matthews has been HC since 1999. (17 years). Of those 17 years he has had 5 winning seasons above .500 (2001,2002,2009,2011,2012) Of the 5 winning seasons he has made the playoffs 3 times. (2009,2011,2012), the fourth time he had a 4-6 record going into the playoffs (2000) and has made it past the 1st round once. (2011). His overall winning percentage is 44.77% (77-95-0). Also, his record against the current (2015) top 3 is: 3-14 vs Nederland 3-14 vs PNG 3-11 vs Central This is not an attack on the coach, I know everyone says he is a great coach and guy, but the numbers don't really support a big run by Vidor this year due to returning players. They have had plenty of times over the last 17 years where there were a large amount of returning players and it didn't pan out.
