  1. Exactly. Seeing as none of the teams on that list have beaten Ned in the last 5 years. PAM will be the wildcard, but I think the Dogs are up to the challenge especially if it comes down to coaching.
  2. Sorry, please continue. Far be it for me to stop someone's fun.
  3. Seems like you had the Dogs in 5th last year too. How did that work out for ya?
  4. Historically, Lumberton doesn't have a winning record against any team in the current 22-5a with the exceptions of Lee and Livingston, so what he said is not a big stretch especially with PAM joining . Livingston being added means Lumberton might be 6th instead of 7th in district next year. Nederland (3-11-0) Port Neches-Groves (1-12-0) Beaumont Central (3-7-1) Beaumont Ozen (4-9-0) Vidor (7-13-0) Baytown Lee (2-0-0) Livingston (12-10-1) PAM (0-0)
  5. So whats going to happen between Central and Ozen? Did they decide the seeds or coin flip?
  6. I believe, ( I could be wrong) that if a student graduates early he or she is able to sign earlier. Not sure about that. I don't think that would stop the schools from pulling a scholarship if they change their mind and decide to go another direction or commit to more players than they have available scholarships. (which is done frequently).
  7. Your are speaking of the old superintendent. Actually about two supers ago now. I agree that the students need safe facilities, but the " Taj Mahal " stadiums and facilities do not equal state championships, its as simple as that.
  8. I found this to be an interesting article about the ups and downs of recruiting. With some valid points on both sides. I do agree with the author that the colleges should be held to a higher standard even though the kids do the same things to the schools. They are the adults and the professionals in the relationship. 9. Disagree on the QBs in free agency. Manziel is most likely done as a NFL QB if not possibly going to jail. Who knows if RG3 can get his confidence back after getting benched for an entire year. McCoy? Nah I would pass. I still think they need to get one from the draft and groom him behind Romo for a few years. (I know that is not done much anymore.) As far as defense, I agree that they have been focusing on the O-line the last few drafts and its time to get a couple of D lineman, maybe a LB and some DBs.
  10. No disrespect, but no fear either. That's what has the Ozen people upset. Ozen doesn't scare the district anymore.
  11. Seems they decided to cancel their meeting..
  12. Its more about depth. In Ozen's case, if you have low numbers and start racking up injuries or people missing due to grades, sickness etc. it makes it pretty hard to compete. See WOS, Silsbee and Jasper in the early 2000's before they dropped.
  13. Look at the scores, that's why the Ozen fans are so bent out of shape about Ned. A 3 point OT win and a 5 point win, both with Ozen having to come from behind. Ned played Central much better the first time.
  14. Yeah, I guess people can't say they don't recruit locally anymore. How many locals did they end up signing?
  15. Probably not until everyone has their schedule set.
  16. Always a possibility.. Lumberton gave Central trouble too last year, but PNG and Ned blew them out. Same thing for Vidor, they always give Ned a close game but were blown out by PNG and Central.
  17. Its going to be tough to get that fourth spot with PAM coming in. Vidor is in the same boat, they will have to upset someone in the top 4 to get in.
  18. Kind of like Ozen winning by whatever they want , right dove?
  19. No idea. I liked the deal Ned and PNG had with LM and Brenham to play in Reliant and switch off those two years.
  20. Still didn't help PNG, we played them non-district in 2010 and 2011.
  21. Did that change from when Ozen was opened ? They started out with around 1900 kids I believe the first couple of years.
