He lives inside the district, so presumably, he will be eligible to suit up for the Bobcats soon. Anyone heard this? Anyone confirm?
Not sure how true it is but a student has to sit the proper amount of time according to UIL rules. The minimum amount he would have to sit is 15 school days (3 weeks). If that is the case, he would not be able to play until the first week of playoffs.
It's actually 15 calendar days from the day of enrollement. The student is eligible for athletic competition on the 15th day as long as attendence requirements are met and he is academically eligible. If he enrolled today, he'd be eligible on November 9th against Colmesneil. If he enrolled last week, he'd be eligible as early as next Friday against West Hardin. So much for HD being one dimensional with no receiving threats  ;)
so how much yall paid Liberty to nab him?  :D
Decision was based soley on academics. Hull-Daisetta has a great teacher/student ratio and a tremendous English department  ;)
I gotcha.  ;)
BG, you putting up mailboxes again??  ;)

Porter/ Caney still have a long way to go.
Now your pushing it....  Lol. IMO, Brenham, Montgomery, Huntsville, Magnolia West & Waller are all better than KP or CE King.  Which BTW, I've seen all of these teams play, except King.  That would put them at 5 & 6.
First of all Willis won some games over there. They're worse than Porter or Humble. Second we scrimmaged Magnolia West and ran up and down the field on them with ease. I think maybe they got two first downs, MAYBE. They would be battling Humble for 7th right now.
I can't let this go.  I realize that Crosby steamrolled Willis this year, but comparing Willis to Porter or Humble is absurd.  Willis is not a playoff team, yet they would beat both of those teams by 35-40 points easily.  You can't compare game results and declare a winner of a game that hasn't been played.  Crosby beats Willis by 50 and beats KP by 1.  So, therefore KP will beat Willis by 49.  No way.
EXACTLY! That's what I'm telling Brenham guy. We had a close win on the road to a team playing for their season and we're frauds all of a sudden. Boy, 20-4a is going to feel all of this. . . .
You already got some 20-4A, you want some more? :)
 3.
NOT SO FAST! I think he was listing Brenham futures. Nederland will be very good through this Soph class. Seay will be a very good QB and they return Wash, Malveaux, Brown etc nxt year. I agree after soph class it gets a little dry (#44 on fresh team is a load). PNG freshman are very talented. Adam Morse is legit at QB. Giblin at LB and several good WRs (#4 and #15) including Cropper and some big aggressive linemen. Sophs include Walker, Peveto, Lane, Romero, Murdoch, Smith, Mayfield, Benoit, Halfin, Hughes and Sparks. Lots of good headsy football players that will make impacts next year.
Not to mention Hopkins on offense. :)  As far as QBs go, we usually don't have a problem with that, they grow on trees in Nederland.  LOL. :)
 4.
I just don't see Ned replacing that line and that secondary. Yeah I have no doubt they will be good but I don't see them being dc good. That's a lot of experience and size to replace in that defense. Not to mention there starting qb.
We will still have Washington, he is a junior.
 5.

Call me old school, but I would rather see it go back to just the district champion making the playoffs than have a situation where 4 of 5 teams in a district will qualify for playoffs. Heck, there are a couple of district where all 4 teams will advance. You could actually have an 0-10 team make the playoffs!!! Since the UIL has made their decision to have 4 teams, then they should make every district at minimum 7-8 team districts. Also, to give some incentive on winning district games and winning district championships, they should allow the #1 seeds in DI and DII from each district host their 1st round games.
100% agree with this!
I like that idea!
 6. I think Dawson will be in the new 6A, but what about Friendswood?? -Also Silsbee wasn't that close to the 4A cutoff,  I don't think.
 7. LOL. Nope they will probably be 6A.  Unless the numbers have dropped a bunch.
 8. Back on topic and knock off the personal attacks.
 9.
Money Talks...we all know that. Great AC/DC song.
I agree..  whoa..... Twilight Zone!! :)
 10. Seems like I remember a couple of times Dayton thinking they were going to take out Ned in the playoffs , how did that work out for ya??  BTW, the 07 team does not compare to this year at all.

Corbett Smith ‏@corbettsmithDMN 6A is here. UIL creates a sixth division, splitting Class 1A Division I and II. This goes in effect for 2014 alignment Retweeted by Texas HS Football
That is not all they approved. First, about the 6A. All it really does is change the name of each classification except for 1A DII. Starting in 2014, what we now know as 5A will be called 6A, 4A will be 5A, 3A will be 4A, 2A will be 3A, 1A DI will be 2A and 1A DII will be just 1A. Second, UIL did pass to add a 4th team to playoffs in all team sports in 3A and 2A starting next season. Also, UIL passed referendum for 3A supts. to vote on making the current 3A football districts to DI and DII districts like 2A and 1A. If passed by supts, this will start next season as well. UIL has voted to eliminate 1 tourney from basketball, baseball and softball. Starting next season a team can only play 2 tourneys and not 3.
You mean we finally get a 6A classification and it won't fix the discrepancy in enrollment numbers and talent pools we've been dealing with in the 4A and 5A playoffs? Please tell me this is a back-door way of making a real 6A classification over time.
That's what making DI and DII took care of. In order to do what you are asking, you would make 6A a mega classification with very few schools. Travel for district games would be terrible and completely ridiculous in some cases.
It didn't fix anything for us. In 2010, PN-G, a middle-of-the-pack 4A school, faced a "Division II" Manvel team that for all intensive purposes had 5A enrollment numbers. I can't tell you how many times we've competed with borderline 5A schools like Friendswood and Pearland Dawson withabout 600 more kids, more talent and more money in UIL or band or whatever spot. Divisions haven't solved anything. And I realize a division is an entirely different concept at the 1A and 2A levels (and 3A after next year). But for them, they've often times been even worse. WOSgrad just brought up Deweyville and Anderson-Shiro. If you ask me, Katy has a lot more money to spend on travel costs than they do.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hold on 'kid!  We don't NEED to be talking about any more Katy ISD expenses...ya hear!? LOL! Seriously though, AAW and I have had this conversation many a time so I can tell you that his previous post is dripping with sarcasm....it is just not readily apparent from a computer screen.  Liltex has it right, this is a money thing.  The UIL gets 15% off the top on all gates for football playoff games starting with bi-district games...you do the math and you will see why the current system will not be replaced (just expanded) anytime soon.
No kidding about the Katy expenses,  I'm paying out the nose already and my kid doesn't start school until next year!
 12.
Man y'all are awful cocky this year. The only team to make it past round one out of 19-4a last year was Dayton and that includes y'all meal ticket sc.
pride goes before the fall. :)
 13. I didn't go, so I'm watching now.  I figured other people would want to also.
 14. We will have to get pressure on the QB,  PNG was snapping and throwing very quickly last night to try and blunt the D-lines'  rush.  I think we got to him a couple of times, and thats probably why they were having snap problems.  Also, need to play a much cleaner game as far as penalties.
 15. Why not?  there were a few PNG fans that were hoping for a win.
 16. Whatever, all we hear about is the png fan base and all of the attendance records.  Bama kid, where you at???
 17.

Honor - Pride - Tradition (at least when they are winning)
Not to rag on PNG fan base but i saw something like that at the start of a game in 2001 at Lincoln on a Saturday night (and it was much less of a crowd thats in the picture above ;))
You should have seen the "Hurricane" MCM after Rita.  Ned outnumbered them 2 to 1 the whole game.
 18.
To be honest,  I don't see how Ned is ranked so high.  If they couldn't do more damage to PNG than that,  they should drop this week.  Take away the stooooopid throw, for the pic 6,, when we were about to score,  and this game has a totally different look. I agree,  that NED could have run on us all night,  w/o ever having to throw,  but when they did,  they were very effective (against a secondary that is almost non-existent???) Ned was just not that impressive.  Heck,  WOS, LCM and Summer Creek actually gave us a good ol' fashioned butt-whoopin (as stated above),  but not Nederland. They are good,  but not as good as their ranking.
Its a rivalry game.  Usually the score is not that bad.  Ned will have to clean up the penalties, but other wise they put on PNG pretty well.  I don't know why they went away from Hopkins, but they didn't come out flat in the first half like they did against the previous 2 teams.  Up 20-6 by half,  and probably got almost 400 yards against PNG's D.
I doubt it. probably some of those fans with half ned half png shirts.
Those people actually exist? i thought that was against the moral laws of mid county lmao!
Lol.  There are Grandparents that have grandkids that play on both teams.  I see a few every year on the Ned side as well.
