1. GCM's last 2 scores were on the 2nd team.  You want to compare Sante Fe , Bridge City and Clear Brook to Angleton??  You'd think you would have learned after giving up 500 yards to Angleton last year.
 2. If I weren't in Houston, I would take you up on that.
 3.

Nederland by a lot... These kids have seen the same offense three years in a row... No surprises in vidor... I am sure angleton had a pretty good run game, pass game and d....big Ned wins this one by a Noel field goal.. plus 28..... I do not know if vidor will get 5 first downs all night..... Sorry PIrates I pick u 2nd or 3rd in 20 4 a...
I agree with the assestment that Vidor is predictable "run," "run," "run," Nederlands strength at Defense is "prevent the run," "prevent the run," "sack the Qb", "sack the Qb"..... With that said, I do believe Vidor will have big plays (maybe some type of trick play that they pull out of their bag of tricks) Special teams will be important for both teams.  Look for onside kicks when least expected. If Nederland offense clicking on all cylinders, Nederland by more than 2 Tds. Vidor will do fine in front of their home crowd and I do believe this will be higher scoring than anyone thinks. Go Dogs!
Just curious did you happen to see what that "prevent the run, prevent the run, sack qb, sack qb" did last night? If I am not mistaken (and I am pretty sure I am not) I believe it was something to the tune of 38 carries for 273 yards which would give an average of 7.18 yards a carry. So "prevent the run" definitely did not happen last night....just saying I say Vidor by 13. Was not impressed with Nederland at all listening to the game last night. Granted they were playing the almighty Angleton, but was a sloppy game with several mistakes that were costly.
Almighty Angleton that hung a double nickel on Vidor last year, And put up almost 500 yards on the vidor D.
Yeah I know, but I'm impatient.  I guess I need to find something else to do next Friday night.  :D
I'm goin' out to shoot a couple of possums and gig some frogs for the concession stand, you know, Booster club stuff.
Frog legs sound good!!  I'll pass on the possum though.
 5.
Nederland defense did not give up 6 TD's, they also played against a short field several times as the O had 4 turnovers in the first quarter.  Defense played exceptional, especially given the loss of anchor Brock Pryor.  The offense really made a huge leap last night despite the turnovers and moved the ball against a VERY athletic Angleton defense.  And to top off the ability this team has, we also found this team has BALLS, and big ones.  After the start they had, to be in a position to win the game with 3 minutes answers more questions than anyone could possibly have about how good they are or can be.  Dogs are legit.
Yep.  One pick six  and played on a short field several times.  Thats ok, keep underestimating us Dayton.
 6.

I'll go ahead and bite and be the first to put it on this thread: Vidor played a soft pre-district schedule.  With that said, you beat who you played and Vidor will make the playoffs.  But, Nederland will win in two weeks and probably by at least 10 points.
You know, I try to do the math and see who Nederville added that makes them so much better than us from last year...y'all beat us on a fourth and 18 in your stadium. This year, it's in Vidor where the last time you played there, you lost. Hmmm. I really would like that 10 points in a wager...any takers??? I'm easy to find.
I think Nederland is better offensively than they were last year and the strength of Nederland's defense (the D-line) has the potential to disrupt what Vidor does well offensively (run the ball).  Plus, I'll give the coaching edge to Nederland. I'd be willing to bet a Jody Leigh's buffet on it.
Agreed.  Our offense is much more effective this year than last year.  Also, we will have all of our defensive starters this year.
 7.
Just got home, but wow, what a game!  Really proud of the Dogs...they could have easily mailed it in after 4 first quarter turnovers, but that just isn't in the makeup of this bunch...they will fight you...hats off to Angleton...they are very good, but I cannot say that I was surprised by that...I expected them to be dang good and they did not disappoint...I would love to see them again in the playoffs. As for the injuries, Pryor has a hyper-extended elbow, Delfirio has a concussion...not sure about Hopkins...sure hope these guys can heal up in 2 weeks for the district opener...it's time to defend the crown!!! And going for 2??  Absolutley the right call in a non-district road game...I have zero problem with that at all. Congrats to both teams...really good, exciting game in miserable weather, but fun as heck to watch.
Zac Taylor stepped up when Hopkins went out.    60 yards on 8 carries!
 8.

Wow. What a show of determination by Nederland. Coming out and having four turnovers in the 1st quarter would've shut down a lot of teams but they fought and fought and came very close to a win against an incredible Angleton team. I think going for 2 was absolutely the right call. It was raining Cats and Dogs out there tonight! (pardon the pun). I'm very glad I made the long drive, it was well worth it. Very proud of this team, they deserve a top 10 spot in the polls. Good luck wildcats.
as far as the AP Poll NED shouldnt drop no more than to #9 or #10 depending on where they put former #6 Amarillo which lost to WF Rider who was like #12 i believe.
I don't think they will drop that much.  Probably down to #7.  They proved they belong in the rankings.
 9. I didn't go. its an hour and a half at least through 5' o clock traffic .  With the rain. lol
 10. Nothing to hang our heads about.  We took the #3 in state to the very edge.  GOT to clean up the penalties though.

 12.
Best defense in the state? Really
Not all Ned fans are saying that.  I will say they are pretty darn good!
 13. Congrats on the new kiddo!!  I guess we will have to see if our defense is up to the task.  Some Dayton fans seem to think they aren't . ::)
 14. looks like it all on the west side,  Katy is getting hammered right now.
 15. Actually, I think this thread has gone far enough.
 16. I posted a warning to the whole board after I warned you.
Ok, this thread is already out of hand.  Until something has become public, I.E. reported on by the news, do not post unsubstantiated rumors about students from any school!!
17. Incorrect.  If it has not been substantiated do not post it.
